I played F-Zero once, got bored, and turned it off. My online subscription is for a year, as I was excited to play SNES games (having missed the system in my youth), but there’s really nothing holding my interest. Unless something newer is added, my subscription will remain unused

I’ll not be bullied into to buying a sh*te game in the hope of getting a future release of a good one. Sorry Sega, Monkey Ball in any shape or form is now off my list

Best deal I saw in Oz was for a PS4, so just grabbed one. Having been Nintendo only for many years, what PS4 games do y’all Nintendo owners recommend?

I got a year subscription when the SNES games came out. I’ve logged in twice, and played for less than thirty minutes total. Unless games from N64 onwards come out, it ain’t for me

Wow! What skill and dedication. Really impressive stuff. Super Mario Land was one of my favourite gameboy games, and this just looks so beautiful!

@Zyph I thought it looked aesthetically terrible, purely from video I’ve seen. The NPCs and Pokémon popping in when you approach was really distracting, along with the identical house interiors, and shops that were merely facades - it just didn’t look great to me.

But many people in these comments are loving the game, and I do feel like I’ve missed out on a gaming cornerstone, so I’ll possibly pick it up (although I gather they usually release an enhanced version a year later, so may wait for that - I’m in no rush)

I’ve never touched Pokémon before, so I really don’t care about the controversy, but man, the game looks terrible! I’m glad others will like it, but it looks like it could’ve been so much more?!?

This was going to be my first ever Pokémon game, so the dexit doesn’t bother me at all, but that weird pop-in of NPCs and monsters was crazy bad. A mouse-pointer at the end would be the least of my worries

They only had time to either add in this pointless earbud quest, or add in some of the deleted Pokémon...

I was really disappointed with Mario Kart: No single player mode with progression / achievement; just everything unlocked from the beginning. And then the same old items, with the same elastic-banding and the ridiculous blue shell. The game sure looked great, and control was awesome, but I didn’t enjoy it much.

So, Gauntlet? I hope so

I want to get a PlayStation, but I’ll wait for PS5 - no point in buying at an obsolete product. Anecdote vs data, but I bet there are many in a similar position

A couple of questions for those who have played the game. If you’ve never played a Pokémon game, is this an easy enough jumping on point? And why are there two versions - Sword and Shield - what’s the difference?

So the man who designed Sonic to look nothing like Sonic, now thinks it should look more like Sonic. Um, OK dude, but why not design him to look like Sonic in the first place???

Maybe Tencent could develop their own IP, and make great games based on that. No one is stopping them from, you know, game design and character/world/story development. Like most game studios.

Show you can make great games, and people will buy them.

(Although if Nintendo ain’t touching Pikmin, 1080, Waverace etc... then go for it!)

I’ve never played a Layton game, and that trailer doesn’t do anything to make me want to. Decorate your agency? Change clothes? Sounds rather dull

As someone who has never played a Pokemon game, reading these comments is like listening to an alien language. But I'm keen to test the waters (or fires) with Sword/Shield...

My ageing, uncoordinated hands, would love it if dual-stick shooters had a single stick option, where I fire in the direction I'm facing (otherwise my bullets swirl around the screen like an unheld firehose)

Review scores and comments are all over the place. I reckon a second opinion (conclusion) for each review would be a great addition - it's something the magazine ZZap!64 used to do back in olden days

I’m not a fan of ‘release now, patch later’, so I’ll skip this. By the time the fixes come (if they come), I’ll have forgotten about the game. Whereas a delayed release to get it right, gets my respect and my money.

I would’ve liked to have seen some game footage instead of a newsfeed from Hong Kong...

The Pokémon comments sections always crack me up. Everything is black or white (sword or shield?). They’re so divisive.

And I’ve never played a Pokémon game, ever. I’m trying to find out what’s going on, and what the big deal is, but it’s like a foreign language to me. I don’t even know if Sword and Shield is one game or two? solo or multiplayer? It’s hilariously confusing. But I feel the series is so loved, that I’m missing out on something, so I’m keen to jump in and give it a go ... and then maybe I can get vocal about the dex, map size, and watery something or other...

A bit more like the Netflix interface would be good. Where my wishlist is the top row, other rows are new releases, popular, genre etc... And you scroll left-to-right.

Put the game title under the image, as many titles are unreadable.

Let me permanently remove games from the eShop - I really don’t need to see games I’ve purchased or games I have no interest in, and they clutter the already cluttered store.

Control looks great. 1 v 1 Sounds less great. And neon and sunsets do nothing for me. But I’ll keep an eye on it, and see how it turns out (and then probably buy after a few G&Ts)

The term Metroidvania is getting tiresome. Almost as bad as Rogue-like and Rogue-lite. It doesn’t help that I’ve never played Metroid, Castlevania, nor Rogue...

Apple Arcades is looking rather tempting. For a reasonably low monthly subscription to play games that look somewhat intriguing but not worthy of a full purchase - hmm, I’m almost tempted to jump on in. Although I game 99% of the time in portable mode, and don’t own any joysticks other than joycons...
