Re: Hardware Review: Nintendo Switch 2 - A Faster, Slicker, Sexier Switch

BaldB3lper78

Battery life is pants and needs sorting out assp. I’m fine with the LCD screen although when the inevitable OLED does come along, I know I’ll probably upgrade.

I’m loving the Switch 2 overall - MKW is cool
But FAST Fusion is the game that is really showing off what the console can do and can only get better IF devs are willing to put in the work which could be a sticking point.

Another huge win for me is the way original games are looking better - Rocket League looks so much sharper and snappier and that’s got me back into a great game.

Overall - I’m a happy Switch 2 fan. I just hope that we start to see some more originality in games soon and not just another remake and remaster machine like PS5.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For The Nintendo Switch 2

BaldB3lper78

Absolutely loving mine! A really solid upgrade and feels more premium in every way. I finds it weird to hear people moaning about lack of games when the same people probably have a backlog of games anyway. More games will come.

I hope the house function is used by devs as it’s really so much better than I hoped for and I’ve found a neat and fairly inexpensive gadget to make it easier on the hands too.

Screen is fine / vibrant and looks great. Switch 2 Pro controller is a subtly yet fabulously realised update.

Sometimes you don’t need to re invent the wheel- just make it time that bit better me faster.

Re: Review In Progress: Mario Kart World (Switch 2) - The Perfect Introduction To A New Console Generation?

BaldB3lper78

Good information and I agree with this early review.
I think, like the Switch 2 itself, this is an evolution rather than a revolution but it’s a brilliant one.

I do agree that some of the Grand Prix tracks feel a bit bland at times although I also feel that there is a real focus on when you use your shells and power ups before hitting the last laps and getting into the real racing of Mario Kart that we know and love so well.

I’m loving free roam as a form of gaming mindfulness as I can just pick up and fly around at my leisure.

I can see updates and more content further down the line but for now, this is a brilliant Mario Kart and it’s a superb evolution.

Re: Switch 2 eShop "Top-Selling" Games At Launch Revealed

BaldB3lper78

I’ve got MK World - let’s face it probably most early adopters have as wel! - Welcome Tour which although it should be free, is actually a really well put together demo of what the new system does and can do - some of the mini games are pure Nintendo happiness makers? , I’ve tried the SF 6 demo and have to say playing that in handheld mode is awesome!

My favourite purchase so far though is Fast Fusion! What a game. Fast RMX is still one of my fave games on the OG Switch and I hope it gets more love - it truly deserves it, it really does!

Finally, playing ARMS again and with the updates.l, it’s smoother than ever and this deserves a second shot at glory because it is such an underrated IP.

Re: Hardware Review (In Progress): Nintendo Switch 2 - A Faster, Slicker, Sexier Switch

A fair assessment so far I would say. I fully expected an evolution rather a revolution and that feels what we have got so far at least.
But I’m really happy with it. I do get why some feel that Nintendo have ‘sold out’ by not going with a full on new console or even a load of new gimmicks, but sometimes there is a need to know your audience and not alienate them. Nintendo have done that here IMHO.

The handheld unit is lovely / it feels, looks and plays like an upgrade. It’s more premium in every way. Okay OLED screen has irked many but the LCD is actually eye poppingly good and I won’t I won’t lose any sleep over change.

Game wise, Mario Kart World is also an evolution - it’s Mario Kart but on steroids. It’s huge, the animations are akin to the recent movie which I love, and free roam is great just for a blast around the world and trying out some mini games. It’s not Forza but it’s still amazing fun.

FAST Fusion is the game that’s really bowled me over so far though. From the incredible price to the ridiculously fast graphics , it is a showcase for what Switch 2 can do right now.

What we mustn’t forget in these early days , is that devs will learn more and get more from the console as time goes on and if my own early impressions are anything to go by, that means we are in for some incredible treats in the coming days, weeks , months and years!!

Mine has now arrived! EE and DPD delivery as always!!! Playing with the welcome Tour and it’s great fun despite not being free!

Screen is vibrant. Rumble 2 is actually brilliant! Mouse controls are really spot on and I hope that devs do make use of this feature as it’s really got huge potential!

So far I’m very happy!! MKW and Fast Fusion are just finishing downloading.

Re: Site News: We've Got A Switch 2

I would say I’m pleased for you. Well, I am but a little jealous! Can’t wait for mine to arrive and if it’ll doesn’t arrive tomorrow then I could be on National News tomorrow for murder……..::::

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Final Tech Specs Have Been Confirmed

BaldB3lper78

Great upgrade overall but as I suspected and mentioned in another post yesterday , GameChat looks like being a massive mistake and one that Nintendo should and could have avoided. Adding chat was fine but with the camera, it’s clear this will degrade the gaming experience and therefore it’s a huge no from me!

It’s really not hard to just create a simple but effective chat option, but yet again, it looks like on this score that Nintendo have cocked it right up!

But the rest looks amazing and I can’t wait for June 5th arrive!

Re: "It's Very Powerful" - Borderlands 4 Dev Hypes Up The "Perfect" Switch 2

BaldB3lper78

I think that Switch 2, from what devs are saying, will on the whole be a really good upgrade from the original Switch and whilst it still won’t be the most powerful console out there, it will have enough to bring many games on the go for those who choose to upgrade.

Switch 2 will , like the original, still sell mainly based on its own IP, but with 3rd parties on board again and some even coming back to a Nintendo platform, I can only see good things ahead!!

Just bring June 5th on already!!

Re: Talking Point: Are You Excited At All For Switch 2 GameChat?

BaldB3lper78

I thought the Switch 2 Direct was great and I can’t wait for mine to arrive.

But voice chat was by far the lamest part of the Direct and the polls show that it’s really not captured anyone’s imagination at all.

It’s hard to tell from the videos, but it looks like it could degrade the quality of the gaming experience as it all looked janky and stuttery. Now, that could just be the video, but it feels like a really lazy attempt to bring better game chat to a Nintendo system, following the shocking Nintendo app chat which I’ve still only ever used once!

A couple of mates have pre ordered it though, so I will see what that reveals and make a decision based on seeing if properly in action but I think it will be an epic failure tbh.

Re: Nintendo Defends Switch 2's Perceived Lack Of Innovation

BaldB3lper78

What has astonished me since the Switch 2 reveal is the incredible hypocrisy across the board. Pretty much since the Original Switch was released, people have been asking for more power!
So many said they wanted an evolution and not a revolution and when Nintendo come along and bring just that, everyone goes off their heads moaning about getting what they asked for!

The gaming media has become so obsessed with click bait and so called influencers (who would do well to get off You Tube and getting an actual job) , that reality and common sense have all but died!

The answer given is spot on 100%

Re: Every Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Card Release

BaldB3lper78

I understand the concerns about key carts, I really do, but I want to try and offer a more positive slant amongst all of the negativity and furore. If this route allows more companies to save costs and produce more games for Nintendo Switch 2, then that is a positive in my book. Look at how many lay offs the industry has seen in the last 24 months. It may be that by saving costs on this way, more developers keep their jobs to make more games. Isn’t that a good thing in a world where job security no longer exists?

If you needed to be on line every time you inserted the ‘key’ then I admit that I would be absolutely raging. What I see here is a compromise - neither fully digital, nor online only , but you still get a physical cartridge and box.

It won’t appease most collectors of course, but for me, I feel it’s an okay solution in an ever changing technological world.

The ‘key’ to all of this is that sometimes compromise is necessary and therefore , whilst it will remain controversial, soon enough the furore will die down and people will just get on with gaming and remember - you can re sell a key cart - you can’t re sell a digital only game.

Look for the positives and enjoy the games is what I say!
