@IceClimbersMain Switch 2 has more 3rd party titles released and confirmed than any other previous Nintendo console so I’m not sure how you make that out tbh.
I must admit that I thought we would have seen more from Xbox but then again, we still have the issue of 3rd party games not selling that well on Switch 2, so it could be that Xbox are thinking it’s not worth putting games on Switch 1 for the sake of it. With the games they are putting on PS5 , they know they will sell in big numbers and that has already been seen.
Will be interfering to see how Indiana Jones sells next year.
Personally, I was hoping that we would have seen Forza announced and Halo at the very least already and the fact we haven’t even heard a whisper of COD suggests to me that those games possibly won’t come at all.
I agree with this view a lot. Excited , yes. But also a little baffled. And maybe even a little bit concerned. Because I do worry that Nintendo Switch 2 editions are a little too easy and rather than bringing new games to us, we are being fobbed off with upgrades and little else:
I love my Switch 2 - it’s more powerful than many give credit for and it’s early days, but I do have a nagging feeling we are being played a little as well.
The next ‘Xbox’ will be a PC with an Xbox sticker on it. Just like the Xbox Rog Ally X. Sarah Bond was pretty clear that the next gen for them is being dictated by the new handheld device. And it makes total sense. Console wise, there is little point them driving a dark alley again. But they can still focus on niche , higher end products.
In terms of being on every platform, of course they are going to say that’s good for everyone because when you become a 3rd party publisher with that much investment, that’s clearly what you will want.
They try and make it sound like it’s a decision taken for the greater good of gaming , but it’s be clear here, it’s a decision taken because of the disastrous management of Xbox for the past ten years. That’s the reality.
@axelhander Shall I simplify it for you if reading reasoned and articulate comments is too difficult for you? Exclusives are not a problem nor are they antiquated. Xbox is just crying because it’s failed with its own exclusives. Nintendo exclusives are here to stay.
@axelhander Not at all. If you have every game on every console, you kill competition and that’s bad in my opinion. I see no reason why Nintendo should put their own IP onto PS5 or Xbox. None at all. Yes, money is tight for everyone, but we can choose why we play on. I want to play Nintendo games on a Nintendo system. Plenty of games are multi platform and there is plenty to around, but would you want every TV show on every TV channel? That would kill competition.
The only reason that Xbox are pushing this narrative is because of their own failures in the last few years. They aren’t going multi platform from the goodness of their own hearts. They are doing it because their failed strategies have left them with no choice but to follow that pathway.
That doesn’t mean everyone else should do so if exclusives are still working for them.
Nintendo will continue to make exclusives. They value their IP. And they know the value of them. They are still knocking out incredible exclusives and even more will come over the life of the Switch 2 which will likely be 7 to 8 years.
Exclusives are NOT at all antiquated , Xbox itself is antiquated through mixed messaging, lack of care over its own IP and is trying to push a false narrative that exclusives are bad for the consumer. That is utter nonsense and only shows that Xbox is lost.
@johnedwin Switch has been out 5 months and already running ports incredibly well. I mean , buy a switch 2 for a great price that is going to get better and better , or buy a Rog Xbox Ally X for £800…… that’s not actually worth it. Each to their own. But I’d rather d

Absolutely fine with this. Games too chuffing hard anyway so won’t buy it! But would rather they delay than release half cooked and then do the lazy patches thing
@AlonditeFE totally agree. The issue with suspending and restarting games is ridiculous for an £800 device. It want mentioned in the review and is a very important point - @FraserG can you clarify if you encountered this issue?
I really don’t know what anyone did actually expect with the Switch 2. Some kind of massive leap? That was never going to happen - anyone who thought that really was just hoping for an alternate reality. Some may say they’ve played it safe - so what if they have? I wanted more of the same but better and that is exactly what we have got! The leap between ‘generations’ will be smaller now. I hate the term next gen. It’s pointless nowadays.
Nintendo have created a powerful enough handheld for a price that is affordable compared to handheld gaming PC.
Xbox Ally X will sell what - £1 million in its lifetime if it’s lucky. If I want to play Xbox these days, I’ll use my Xbox IPad Pro!
Nintendo Switch 2 is brilliant and will get better. After 4 months, some people’s expectancies are literally pie in the sky.
It’s a cool concept and will make money. Nintendo are being very savvy. Very savvy indeed. Al whilst Xbox continue to shoot themselves in the foot on a regular basis!
Yeah I’m getting Sonic but it’s pretty hard to enjoy on switch 1 if you’ve got a switch 2. Going back to the OG Switch after Switch 2 is painful on the eyeballs. Really painful.
@Lowell I feel Switch 2 sort of lumbered out of the starting blocks, but we are seeing already , after just 4 months - which so many people are conveniently ignoring - just what an amazing few years are ahead for this console and gamers.
@PJOReilly Just and FYI on this so others don’t make same mistake I did! I bought the game on UK store but on there, it doesn’t have the Switch 2 edition or an upgrade options. That only seems to work on the USA store which is a bugger because now I can’t download the bits I really wanted to play with the mouse controls. So be careful folks. Thankfully it’s a cheap game but even so. 😢
@Suketoudara It’s not as polished as Mario Kart - 8 Deluxe or World - but it’s a fun game from what I’ve played to now. Think on Switch 2 it will be just fine.
I’ve not bought the S1 version but my mate has and I’ve played it a good few times with him. It’s a decent racer and I will certainly pick it up but it’s is a bit grim visually and performance wise on the original Switch. That said, if you haven’t yet got a Switch 2, I reckon you will really enjoy it on the original Switch. It’s just once you’ve played on Switch 2, going back to Switch 1 is a tough ask on the old eyeballs.
It’s starting to very much feel like the ports in general are holding up well for Switch 2. I play mainly handheld and can’t wait to get this game! With quality ear buds to boot, I’m gonna be jumping for joy as well as out of my own behind…. Probably!
It’s a shining example of what devs can do. I love that they have embraced numerous control options. It’s an absolutely brilliant port and shows how it should be done and , most importantly how it can be done!!

It’s not really a Nintendo decision is it. It’s the Pokemon Company. It will sell anyway in Japan so no one there will give many hoots about this.
