@FirMatt Noooooh? Using it as what everyone was asking for?!! Wow. It’s incredible how people do that. Use something in a way that they asked for. Mind blowing.
@Omarzy This is nothing like the Wii U. It’s clear that this a sequel console. It’s 6 months old. You sound like the Switch 2 has been on sale for years . Nintendo were always going to play things safe with the Switch 2 because of the original switch user base - that’s why we are seeing upgrades a lot of the time - this isn’t different to what PlayStation did with the PS4 to PS5 initially - for 18 months to 2 years at least. 6 months in and over 10 million sales being called a failure is utterly bonkers.
The Switch didn’t hit its stride until 2 and a half years!!!!!!
There is some serious trolling going on here that lacks intelligence and knowledge .
@PikminMarioKirby These sales are also when Black Friday was on and PlayStation was massively discounted and this site reported that! This is literally just the same story repackaged for clicks.
@Olliemar28 It might just be me, but I’m baffled by this post. I thought this had already been reported a couple of weeks ago?? PS5 sold more due to Black Friday discounts which were huge.
Am sure this site reported that and this is just a regurgitation?
The original Avatar film was about migration with blue people. It was a centuries old film with a centuries old script. It was awful and how it won any awards will forever remain a mystery: the games are worse.
Some great looking games and I truly believe that that there is so much more to come and no reason we shouldn’t expect some brilliant ports in the next few years.
The only bad ports have been down to the developers and not the hardware.
@AlanaHagues thanks for the news and oh my word!!!! I got this so long ago and never really sat down to play it due to backlog. Now after an hour….. OMG!!!!! Brilliant!
@JimNorman Hi. I might be being ignorant, but why do we not see combined charts? It seems weird in this digital age to not have combined physical and digital charts. Surely that would reflect the real sales across the industry?
I was hoping, actually expecting that most games would be confirmed for Switch 2 at the same time as others but that seems to be not the case. Which is concerning.
I thought switch 2 games announcement wise it was a very disappointing night indeed. Nothing really stood out very much and I was expecting some big third party hitters to be announced - Forza for example.
Clair 100% deserves all of the accolade, it really does. I’m playing through it at the minute and it’s a truly superb game. Would be easily portable to Switch 2 as well so hope we see that soon.
Overall though, in terms of game reveals and Switch 2, I’ve come away very disappointed. Was hoping to hear much more about new games and the likes of Forza, NHL getting Switch 2 releases in 2026. Felt like a lot of games were announced and a hell if a lot of them aren’t coming to Switch 2.
@The_Nintendo_Expat How is the Switch 2 a bad thing? When PS5 came out, it had remasters and upgrades galore and there was none of this at all. Switch 2 is what people asked for - a more powerful Switch and that is exactly what it is.
It’s 6 months and they have taken a safe approach because they know they have such a massive OG Switch user base.
I’m just so glad that I can pop here tomorrow for all the news and not have to watch that stain on gaming that is Keighley. How he gets money for his bias and bull 💩 is astounding.
Hopefully we will get some exciting Switch 2 news to wake up to!
@PJOReilly That seems to be the way with so many modern games now sadly. Send it out half baked and then rely on patch after patch. It just make reviewing games so much harder.
I think my main concern though is that devs might just keep chucking out these duds time after time in Switch 2.
The Virtual Boy was utterly terrible. And nausea inducing. Bring Dreamcast, more GameCube games, anything but this. For collectors I guess it’s a dream. For the rest of us it’s just chuffing pointless.
Black Ops 7 is awful. Really bad. A sure we will see COD on Nintendo ……. Not. Will probably get the mobile version and that will be Xbox saying true to their word!
Switch 2 games are selling well and we also have to remember that it’s install base is still so much lower after only 6 months so to be doing so well only further confirms that the console is already going to be a massive success again for Nintendo.
An absolute 10/10 on Switch 2. Visually it is stunning and runs so well both docked and undocked. I get that some don’t like some of the handholding but that’s a very 1st party Nintendo IP anyway so it’s nothing new. It gets the heart racing at times and I disagree about the bike levels - I’m loving roaring round on the bike then diving off again to explore and mash some more baddies. Let’s get Samus on her bike in Mario Kart World eh Nintendo?
And the soundtrack! Now that is beyond a 10/10 it really is sensational!! Deffo one for a vinyl release and orchestral performance.
Switch 2 is 6 months old and personally, I feel we are doing really well.
I just hope it’s not another 8 years before we see Samus again.
This is concerning to hear about. Not only is it a bad look for Ubisoft, it’s concerning for Nintendo as well - especially hearing about the heat issues. Hopefully a patch will fix it but Switch 2 really should be able to manage this game without may hiccups.
I hope this isn’t an issue we are going to start seeing with ports.
Here are my thoughts on the evolution of a console which I feel has started well and much of the negativity toward it is done for click.
What’s most exciting is how young the Switch 2 still is. At just six months old, it’s already sold over 10 million units and is considered a major success story for Nintendo. Developers now have a stable, powerful platform to build on, and Nintendo’s track record suggests the best is yet to come.
The original Switch didn’t hit its stride until 3 years into its life and If history repeats — and all signs suggest it will — the Switch 2’s future catalogue will only get richer, more ambitious, and more technically impressive.
Six months in, the Nintendo Switch 2 feels like a console with momentum. It launched strong, it’s improving quickly, and it’s already delivering experiences that justify the upgrade. The hardware is more powerful than some give it credit for, the games are fun, and the potential is enormous.
If this is where the Switch 2 stands at half a year old, imagine where it’ll be in another six months — or another six years. Nintendo has built a foundation that’s only going to get better.
Great to read and it really is impressive but I don’t get this whole idea of it being ‘impossible.’ It’s not. It just needs developers to do their jobs and optimise games for the hardware. There are no excuses for poor ports other than laziness. We should be able to see Forza, Indy, many more games ported without their being an excuse for poor quality, Of course there will be compromises for a less powerful device but Switch 2 can handle plenty of these games as long as devs take care and time - which is literally their job!

Re: Talking Point: Six Months Since Launch, How Would You Rate Switch 2?
