Re: FC 26 On Switch 2 "On Parity, Basically" With PS5, According To EA Sports Dev

BaldB3lper78

I’ve played the S2 beta and tbh was not impressed. It feels like , a legacy game again. All a bit awkward visually and certainly FPS wise, it’s a tough play on the big screen. In handheld it’s better due to screen size so I would stick to that if I do buy it, but tbh I would only get it once it drops in price.

Things may change of course but I don’t see anything that made it stand out at all.

Re: The Force Isn't Strong With Star Wars Outlaws On Switch 2, Initial Impressions Suggest

I just feel like Switch 2 is going to keep selling well but we are going to get far too many of these ports that are not even acceptable.
I almost feel as if I’ve bought a bit of a dud.

I was really looking forward to playing much better ports in Switch 2 and it looks as if that isn’t going to happen very often which is frustrating.

I think I will look at a decent PC for major games and just use Switch 2 for 1st party games.

All just feels really disappointing.

Re: Talking Point: Would Drag x Drive Be Better With Miis Or Non-Mouse Control Options?

BaldB3lper78

Ah Drag X Drive. The Arms of the new Switch. Actually that’s unfair. Arms is a brilliant game and really will go down for me as one of the most underrated games of all time.
Anyway - moving on. Drag X Drive is actually a really decent game. The arenas are drab and dull though. That doesn’t make the game any different to play, but it’s unacceptable to have been so lazy.

He mouse controls are responsive and I enjoy them but it’s too much faff for long gaming sessions. The mouse controls should come into their own with games like Metroid Prime 4 hopefully. I can’t see many 3rd parties using them much sadly.

Drag X Drive is fun in small doses but it feels a bit like Nintendo’s approach to the Switch 2. The name will sell it alone.

Re: Video: Uh Oh, Elden Ring On Switch 2 Has Issues In Handheld Mode

BaldB3lper78

It’s really annoying that article after article, preview after preview and review after review here and on most other sites that we are hearing things that sound like the original Switch again. - “performance issues.’ We really shouldn’t be having this all over again.
Looks like Switch 2 will be great for 1st party games and a 3rd party dud. Frustrating.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Drag x Drive?

BaldB3lper78

It doesn’t look good but after playing it all weekend, I am having a ton of fun with his game! And if you pick up some joy con 2 mouse adaptors, worries about wrist aches vanish - I can highly recommend checking out Amazon - game changers.

Move the motion controls and with some more content added, this really could be worth an 8, but I’m sticking with a 7.

Looks not good - plays really well and great fun and isn’t that what gaming is about after all?

Re: Review: Drag x Drive (Switch 2) - A Real Baller With Friends, But Is There Enough To Do?

BaldB3lper78

@PJOReilly I decided to give this a go based on the review and actually, I’m rather pleased that I did. I totally agree that aesthetically it’s not pleasing but I’m not sure that matters after a few hours with the game.
I’ve learned how to brake and spin using the mouse controls without the need to click the re buttons etc and I’m having so much fun with it.

It’s not going to win any awards at all, but it’s better than it looks and once you start playing against others, it’s absolutely bonkers in the best possible way!

With some additional modes , this could do really well actually and I’m seeing a fair few online giving this a go and when you hit a trick and a slam dunk, it’s a proper shout out loud in celebration game!

And after all, isn’t that what gaming is all about!?

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The Switch 2's Next Exclusive 'Drag x Drive'?

BaldB3lper78

I’ll see what the reviews say. It looks a bit drab tbh but I didn’t get chance to join the open beta last weekend so can only comment on videos and preview I’ve seen so far.
The mouse controls sounds like a neat idea but having experienced how clunky they can be with the air hockey game, I’m not convinced it’s anything more than a gimmick that won’t be utilised much at all.

I am happy to be proved wrong though and hope I am.

Re: EA SPORTS FC 26

Cracking. Just started the BETA and graphically this is the same as FC25 on the original Switch. Not even a glimmer of difference. Very poor indeed.

Re: Mini Review: Handy Hockey (Switch 2) - Mouse Mode Multiplayer That Does Exactly What It Says On The Tin

BaldB3lper78

Got this and played it for the 1st time this evening. And it’s great in many ways. Air hockey is just simple, fun and the game covers all of that.

However, personally, I think the mouse controls on this are bloody awful. It’s okay when playing up screen, but when you switch to down screen , moving the mouse towards you just feel weird.

For a fiver it’s a decent little blast that’s for sure, but I think I’ll stick with the controller. The mouse controls are just not any special. IMHO

Re: Switch 2 Has Sold "More Than 6 Million" Units, And Almost As Many Copies Of Mario Kart World

BaldB3lper78

It has certainly started well but I would be hugely surprised if it continues into next year unless the software situation changes with 3rd parties. There seems to be little appetite to put anything but 6 and 7 year old remakes onto the system and most of those lack the quality of the originals and can be played easily on other consoles and for much less.

Sales are good but Nintendo need to be very careful that they don’t become complacent and forget that new software is wanted and needed.

The partner direct was pretty atrocious.

Re: Reaction: Switch 2 Needed A Partner Showcase With Pep; This Wasn't It

BaldB3lper78

I’m wanting to play Madden on Switch 2 on the go, but wanted to see or at least hear about NHL coming to Switch 2.
I’m not sure why anyone thought that SilkSong would be on show though- it’s already confirmed as being playable at Gamescom and will be part of Xbox’s appearance. It was never ever going to be at today’s Direct.

Right now, I suspect that Nintendo is riding high on the huge sales of Switch 2 from the get go, but I fear they are also being far too complacent.

It feels like all they want is for people to be happy with amazing exclusives such as DK Bananza - and it is incredible - and just accept ports and remasters for everything else.

Nintendo are also relying on boosts to Switch games and whilst these are great, and I’ve seen plenty of tangible benefits with games like Mario Galaxy for example, it feels like they are being arrogant.

Sales of hardware are flying. And may well do so for some time, but right now, it feels like we are seeing a Switch Pro rather than a sequel console.

Early days of course , but Nintendo need to be careful because right now, I feel like I’ve spent a lot of money for very little.

Re: Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase July 2025: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer

BaldB3lper78

@KevinP Silksong is already said to be showing at the next big games event for Xbox so it was never ever going to be shown in any form at this direct .

It was a poor direct though. The system itself is selling crazy numbers but with the lack of anything to really grab the attention, I can see that slowing down eventually.

Game key cards are a bad idea and I just cannot see 3rd party games selling well enough at all and they will drop support very quickly.

I was expecting so much more today and came away very disappointed
