The argue that Sonic looks like this to make very easy to "adapt" a guy in a suit with CGI could explain a lot, still I can't avoid to think that using a Sonic model closer to the 3D games would have looked better at a similar cost (afterall that "thing" in the movie doesn't look either good or realistic enough to make it worthy imo).
And why does he have electrical powers/properties? Do they really want to challange Detective pikachu so badly?
At least Carrey was amazing, not the most original jokes, but he definitely knows how to deliver them XD
Looks like an horrifying Sonic movie with an horrifying 3D model of ...something that barely resemble Sonic, but Carrey as Eggman was great as I hoped at least!
Indeed here the first sign you're doing a Sonic Movie wrong, Sonic is awful and uninteresting while Eggman is charming and fun (and let's not talk about Sonic going full Pikachu with being an electric mouse monster, cause that's what Sonic was missing! Of course!).
Not what I expected, but for Carrey's Eggman my hopes have always been on the performance more then the apperence.
If a trailer will really release tomorrow then I guess it won't take long to find out how well or bad he dealed with the role (not to mention how well/not well the "movie Sonic" works in action).
@Medic_alert The fact that the game is good or that it could do worse with microtransaction doesn't make it okay to have any kind of flawed design aimed to trick people into spend more money.
Anyway I admit my comment was more in general towards these kind of situations; I don't play MK, but nowaday I have zero trust left towards any title using any form of combination related to grinding and microtransactions.
@FX102A But releasing a game like this fully broken is the whole point.
Now they can patch it to a less broken, yet still grindy and microtransaction-heavy state and players will find it "good" and "reasonable" cause it will be an improvement over the terrible initial state.
The fix to Daisy's launch power when hitting with a vegetable to match Peach one makes me laugh a little. Saw a video the other day with a guy very happy to showcase the only difference between Peach and Daisy finally discovered, it's like..
"We found a difference guys! We got it!" Sakurai: "Oh, thank you! Gonna patch that out right away!!
My guess is that it's the japan-only game Jump Superstar.
Why? Because the copy I have got all chewed by my cat (and that never happened to any other game I own), I guess it's just a very tasty game for animals.
The lack of censorship is a wonderful news, who doesn't like the game will not get hurt anyway and those liking it can actually enjoy it without nonsense catches!
Now if only I could get an idea of the game being fun or not... I read it has only two tables and that's bothering me, sounds a bit lacking and I like my fan-servicing game to have also actual gameplay you know? ;w;
@Shadowmoon522 I thought I missed some "revelation" episode of the space saga when you mentioned Sonic X, but if you mean that then it's very relatively to use the "alien" term.
Personally I wouldn't call beings from an alternative earth aliens, anyway if that's what the movie mean as alien I would be fine. But that's really wishful thinking, I doubt they'll use such a working backstory when they can use the generic boring "it came from an unknown planet X".
@Shadowmoon522 Honestly I was refering to the literal design of the characters XD Sonic look... we all know how...and Robotnik's description in the article sounds no good either (so much so that the only reason I still hold some hope for the character is because of Jim Carrey playing him.)
Althought I'll admit the "alien" thing bother me too, I don't remember Sonic X, but I'll be very surprised if the movie have any concept similar to an anime instead then some classic boring Hollywood's alien backstory saw in a thrillion movies.
I don't understand the logic behind some changes...
Like.. "We're gonna make a good Sonic movie, a movie that's gonna be fun and crazy as the hedgehog deserve, BUT we will destroy the design of each and every characters so that the fans will feel too alienated to enjoy it! GENIUS!!!!"
Just...just why? Do they really enjoy so much to dissapoint and confuse us?...
Honestly I don't know if they'll find much, these online services are not consumer friendly, but not to the point to be considered legally unfair.
For example I find annoying how the online subscription forces you to activate the auto-renawal. Sure, you can deactivate it a minute later in the options, but why not asking if you want it instead then force you to activate it?
I may be wrong, but it really gives the impression that they are really hoping you forget and pay it again by mistake at least once. Not a super illegal dark practice, but this and similar tricks over milions of players surely brings them more then a few dollars in.
Wait, are you telling me he didn't know he got replaced by Mr. Dream in later releases of the game? Or that there have been already two new Punch Out since the Nes game?
I hope his defense stance is still good cause there are some pretty bad jab-news for him ^^;;;
The pace of the video really got me. When you start to think it's just a safe sketch not daring to exagerate... it goes so crazy so fast that it's a real trip XD
The trailer and description sounds great, but I could swear that I skipped this game on other platforms cause the demo was boring and repetitive. I really wonder if they improved it since then or if they are just very good at marketing it.
This could be a pretty interesting homage/reboot game.
Then again the original was super interesting with all the dream-like craziness, but also so intentionally confusing it was very easy to get lost (which is exactly what happened to me, never got far in that game XD;;; ).
It's funny how I discovered and got my hy hopes up for a revive of Project Hammer only yesterday and now I'm already seeing those hopes crushed (under an hammer maybe?).
The shortest-lived hype I ever had for a rumour, I guess XD
Liked the demo, but the game definitely has problems that really drop a potential good game into being just average at best.
I didn't receive the survey to let them know my thoughts, but it seems everyone who played it found the same problems and more, so I'm sure they'll get the note anyway.
Not interested in this collection, but, if I was, now i would totally try to get it from Play-Asia. It just sound kinda cool to have a collection with each game on its own cartdrige!
Well, this is a good thing big companies can do, they got the resources to delete a project and restart it to make it right.
Sadly it rarely happens, but I'm glad Nintendo took this route.
And to be honest for me it's even a sort of very good news, I actually still have to tackle properly the whole trilogy, so this extra time before 4 won't go to waste.
About time? XD
Admittely I stopped to play Paladins on PS4 a few months ago, but I played it for over a year and polish was NEVER their priority, quite the opposite it was a mess at every update.
I really hope they are serious now, cause Paladins is fun and it 's a shame how little care they had for it in the past.
Love the concept and the overall presentation, but the gameplay doesn't really convince me; not sure what I expected when reading the description, but surely it didn't match with what I saw in the trailer.
It took me a bit, but I finally understood what's wrong with the DownThorn trailer...
It looks amazing honestly, but that's not a NES game, it's 100% a GameBoy Color one!
...Okay, technically the GameBoy was kind of a "portable NES", but DownThorn looks way more inspired by Link's Awakenings and the Oracle games then games like the original TLoZ.
It's not in the timeline, yet I clearly rememeber in the game that Nabooru was mentioned as a great Gerudo of the past.
Was she just a random Nabooru totally not related to Ocarina of Time? Is "Nabooru" the name of every great Gerudo of the past? The more they try to keep the great picture simple, the more the details get complicated honestly XD
Interesting... I recently thought it would be fun to replay the Johto remakes and there they are sitting at the top of the ranking, maybe I should take it as a sign and start my adventure XD
He caught only 77 Pokemon cause is not a monster like the average player.
He met almost all 800 Pokemon, legendaries included, but he admired them in their habitat and only caught the ones willing to join him.
When you think about it, Ash is the only real Pokemon trainer, he really loves and care for them, while we are just awful souless monsters attacking and kidnapping any innocent Pokemon we find in the wild, ruining their life and taking them away from their homes and families only to get a bunch of experience points and a pat on the back from some tree-named professor...

Glad to hear he is still around and that he will even start working at Square, definitly curious to see what kind of game he will make there!

Definitely hope Nintendo will tackle this topic better and differently from the competition especially since there are tons of ways they can do that.
Afterall I think many gamers, me included, are having an hard time accepting things like the microtransaction craziness cause even if you are willing to understand the reasons behind them and supporting them, more often then not these systems feels more optmized toward taking as many money as possible from the players instead then try to create a fair deal for everyone.
Luckily not all games are "The Evil" and Nintendo proved they can enter new money-making systems in interesting ways, but with people spending a ton of money even on the most obvious traps I can't avoid to worry a bit as companies seems to get more and more confident with what they can get away with ^_^;;;
I'm sincerly more curious about the story itself O.O
Why is Daisy in a robot instead then at the final level? Is she trapped in it or is she tricking Mario into saving her land? And most importantly... since Peach always stop at the "nose-kissing" and cake phase, does this mean that Daisy is the only princess that ever saw Mario naked?! O_O;
Edit:...Or maybe that's not Daisy, but Peach?... I just noticed the hairs between the cover and the pages are different... but honestly that would raise even more questions!!! Someone needs to dig into this comic's lore asap O_O;;;
I guess Nintendo taking action against spoilers explain why youtube managed to recommand me videos like "Odyssey Final Boss" and such only for a day before they (luckily) disappered...even if sadly the videos' thumbnails already ruined some surprises...
Honestly never been happier that Nintendo is being overly protective since I hate spoilers, too bad I can't get the game at launch and they probably can't stop the videos after the 27th ^_^;;;
(On a side note, I really hope there won't be some heavy spoilering guides and articles here on NintendoLife, I know they get extra clicks for the site, but I don't want to have to avoid this place for the next 2-3 months ;w; ).
This is the kind of game I want and yet fear to ever own at the same time. It looks wonderful and super fun to play, but also looks like it would last so long I may never see the end of it (as it actually happened with the first title afterall XD).
Agree on many points, althought I don't think the story problem was the fact it was optional, personally I was more shocked by how little there was to find out even if you dig all those optional main quests. BotW is definitely the longest Zelda, one it easily take 100 hour even in a casual playthrough and yet the amount of story is barely on par with previous games. Not that I expected a ton of cutscenes or hundreads of characters, but I can't say I know more about the champions of BotW then what I know about the sages of OoT. Sure the DLC coming out soon may fix this, but given they were four of the six main characters I would have expected them to be already quite flashed out in the 100+ hours of the main game ^_^;;;
I'm also surprised to see no mention in the article about the world map (or maybe I missed that piece?). It's definitely the biggest and most beautiful Hyrule we ever seen, but also kinda the most dissapointing one; geography speaking is perfect, filled with different areas and tons of unique elements teasing the player, but rarely I really found that uniqueness to be reflected also in the events. Time to time there were definitely cool unexpected surprises, but overall I sincerely think I lost the count of how many unique areas had unique names, unique presentation, but were just another monsters' lair with the usual monsters and tresures to find.
If I have to be honest, one of the few things I really loved of BotW with no "but" or "if" is the new engine, they did an amazing job and both the phisics and the new way of swapping equipment and using it with two buttons would do wonders even with the more classic item approch in my opinion X3
So the DLC is mostly cosmetic stuff? That's definitely a good news, with names like "Hero set" and "Warrior pack" I feared they may be selling cards and cards' packs XD All is left then is to find a copy and I may definitely buy the game... which I fear may be easier said then done, many stores didn't even got a copy where I live ^_^;;;
"Advancing" the serie? Except Heroes it's not like they really tried anything new or really different. Well, sure, they gave Sonic a sword once, that lasted long XD I guess the only innovation of last titles was to focus on Sonic running and make it run both in 2D and 3D. Not say it was a bad idea, but... They literally just checked what fans liked in old titles and tried to apply it to new ones, to the point they even bringed back the classic Sonic design; I guess the Sonic Team took a U-turn without notice and they still didn't realize they're going backwards XD;;;
Poor Luigi, he didn't manage to scare anyone and get an horror tag even with two games filled with ghosts while Mario just had to go shirtless for do the trick XD;;;

If I have to be honest, one of the few things I really loved of BotW with no "but" or "if" is the new engine, they did an amazing job and both the phisics and the new way of swapping equipment and using it with two buttons would do wonders even with the more classic item approch in my opinion X3
Re: Review: Culdcept Revolt (3DS)
So the DLC is mostly cosmetic stuff?
That's definitely a good news, with names like "Hero set" and "Warrior pack" I feared they may be selling cards and cards' packs XD
All is left then is to find a copy and I may definitely buy the game... which I fear may be easier said then done, many stores didn't even got a copy where I live ^_^;;;
Re: Nintendo Download: 5th October (Europe)
What the?!
I didn't know Culdcept Revolt would have so many DLCs, did they ever annunced them? If so I definitely missed the news O_O;
Re: Super Mario Run Has a Major Update and Discount on the Way

Okay, she's still not into a main serie game, but it's a step forward; may buy the game now just for support their great taste for extra characters X3
Re: SEGA Knows Fans Want Sonic Adventure 3
"Advancing" the serie?
Except Heroes it's not like they really tried anything new or really different. Well, sure, they gave Sonic a sword once, that lasted long XD
I guess the only innovation of last titles was to focus on Sonic running and make it run both in 2D and 3D.
Not say it was a bad idea, but... They literally just checked what fans liked in old titles and tried to apply it to new ones, to the point they even bringed back the classic Sonic design; I guess the Sonic Team took a U-turn without notice and they still didn't realize they're going backwards XD;;;
Re: Super Mario Odyssey Has an 'Ages 12 and Up' CERO B Rating in Japan
Poor Luigi, he didn't manage to scare anyone and get an horror tag even with two games filled with ghosts while Mario just had to go shirtless for do the trick XD;;;
