Re: Unity's CEO And President Retires After Policy Debacle

BakaKnight

@AstroTheGamosian The specific of the decisions can be debated and the results may have been mixed, but Iwata always showed a care for the company, workers and customers, not to mention knowledge of the field.

Unity really need someone with that attitude and inclination to regain all the lost trust. Another CEO famous for maximize the profits won't win many devs back imo.

Re: Unity's CEO And President Steps Down After Policy Debacle

BakaKnight

This was kinda unavoidable and needed now, coincidence or not.

A change of CEO is the least if they want any chance of regain the trust of developers all around the world.

Though what they also need now to fully regain that trust is a CEO like Iwata that cared more for the company quality and future than the profit in the short term and those kind of CEO are rare to say the least.

Re: Unity Apologies For Its 'Runtime Fee' Policy, Promises To Make 'Changes'

BakaKnight

Yap, there was a lot of confusion... on their side.

Those fee made no sense in any way and on every legit question the many devs raised there were indeed confused and even mismatching replies.

I'm a very small dev that have no reasons to fear the threesholds of the fees, but see the owners of the game engine I use have NO idea how the game market works is a red flag for me too.
As many others I'm stuck with them to finish my current project, but it's impossible to not consider a new engine moving forward.

Re: Gollum Publisher Daedalic Entertainment Shuts Down Internal Development

BakaKnight

I don't know much about this game's development history, but I really hope this isn't one of those stories like "Well, we forced them to crunch, didn't give them enough time to make the game right and the game ended up broken and selling poorly. Clearly they can't make games and we should disband the studio!".

That's so painfully common in the industry I can't avoid to default to fear it happened again here...

Re: Capcom May Consider A Ghost Trick Sequel If There's Enough Support

BakaKnight

Of course they used this tactic..

Why try to add more content or extras for the fans when you can just hold the future of the game they love at gunpoint?...

It even bothers me more cause I tried the steam demo and it feels like a bare minimun emulation-port.
Ack..they didn't even rechecked and adjusted the dialogues. Feels weird to be told to check the upperscreen when the game uses only one screen now.

I'm glad new players can experience this game, but this is NOT an ultimate proper rerelease you want to force even old players to buy at all costs -.-;;;

Re: Mario Movie Improves On Characters Who Didn't Have "Much Of A Personality", Says Director

BakaKnight

I'm glad they did a good job and I can't wait to see it, but..

Is it me or every time there is a movie or serie adaptation of a game there is always a comment about how they fixed or improved something about the characters or world?

Many videogames and their characters are iconic for a reason you know? Do your variant, sure, I see why you have to, but don't claim you fixed what was not broken to begin with >.>;

Re: Konami's New 'Power Pros' Baseball Game Is Available On Switch For Just 99 Cents

BakaKnight

Yeah, the low price scared me, I was wondering what was the catch, but for that price I bought it XD

It's super cute and fun baseball game, just a shame how basic the modes are (pretty much just free matches and build your team), especially when a look at the japanese versions show this serie usually have a huge amount of modes between minigames, challenges and story mode.
The massive price drop does sweet the deal though.

@nhSnork There is single player. Versus mode include the ability to play matches against the CPU. It's not a lot, but for this price it's a cute game to play a random baseball match without needing to find a friend or an online opponent.

Re: Random: There's Now A Fully Animated Ace Attorney Musical On YouTube

BakaKnight

Knew about the project and the songs, but never saw these videos.
The music and songs are perfect honestly, I can't resist going back listening to them time to time.

Wait...Are they still active?! I stopped following cause I heard they had to give up on finishing the project... wonderful to hear they managed to get back to it!

Re: PSA: SEGA Warns Sonic Frontiers Digital Deluxe Edition Players To Download The DLC First

BakaKnight

All extra (and honestly superfloux) consumable items of the deluxe edition are added once after the tutorial as a one off bonus, which is likely why you need the DLC ready.

Honestly it's the least interesting part of the deluxe edition, they could have left those few items out, avoid this little confusion and it would have been a still valid, if not somehow better, deluxe edition >.>;;;

Game is fun though!

Re: The Newest Pokémon In Scarlet & Violet Is A Spooky Little Puppy

BakaKnight

The new Pokémon looks cute and fun, but I find more funny how the girl shrugged off the presence of the Gengar as if there haven't been multiple pokedex's entries about how deadly and scary that smile can be.

That girl met and was lucky enough to survive two deadly ghost pokémon yet ignored the warning and pushed forward until she got consumed by the new puppy one. Gotta love the hidden dark side of Pokémon X3;

Re: Game Freak Had Plans For 65,535 Versions Of The Original Pokémon Game

BakaKnight

Seems weird they considered it that hard to explain.
Like... at the end what they wanted to do was to make a single version with a line on the back of the box saying "Not all trainers meets the same Pokémon, trade with your friends to find all of them!".

I don't know, maybe we are just way more used to games with random generated worlds nowaday, but I don't think that was too hard to explain.... on the other hand that would have meant that even between 3, 4 or even 10 players a mon may be missing, so...the two versions approch is probably better at the end.

Re: Here's How The Klonoa Collection Stacks Up Against Wii And PS2 Counterparts

BakaKnight

Was the original really that 'dark'? I remember it be super colorful and vibrant honestly.
Still, the enviroment looks great in these new releases and the gameplay seems to be alive and well!

But...Klonoa...feels a little off? I swear, his face looks less expressive in the new game and the lack of celshading combined with all that lighting is really not doing the poor little guy any favor.

Re: Random: Nintendo, Why Do You Keep Making Pauline Shorter?

BakaKnight

To be fair, we are talking about characters in the Mario universe. You know? The one with all kinds of size changing mushrooms?

I honestly even wonder if some characters have a canon height cause they clearly grab a mini mushroom here or a mega mushroom there between games.

Re: Random: Daisy Fans Are Worried She's Been Dropped From Mario Strikers

BakaKnight

The lack of Daisy has been shocking since day one honestly...

She is the spin-off charmy sport obsessed princess fine tuned to fit in this kind of games. Years of spin-off training wasted, poor thing ;w;

...and jokes aside, as a Daisy fan this bother me regardless if she will get in as DLC. The simple fact they demoted her from main cast to later add-on (at best) speak volumes on how they are moving Rosalinda up as the second main princess and are likely planning to use Daisy less moving forward.

Re: Video: Bandai Namco Shares New Gameplay Footage Of Digimon Survive

BakaKnight

This trailer made me realize I know nothing about the gameplay except that it's a TTRPG and I still don't know much more yet even after watching the new footage XD

But I'm starting to be more hyped for the release, digimon is the perfect base concept for an amazing TTRPG, kinda hope to see a trailer showing they used all that potential.

Re: Oops, An Italian Voice Actor May Have Spoiled Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2

BakaKnight

Dear...he doesn't even sound like he is aware of the level of info he is dropping XD
Ack...he believe the game may be not out yet, but he's not sure.

This man is a great dubber, but he's quite oblivious about the project he is involved with and the youtuber totally took advantage of that to get a juicy info out (not sure if a sleazy or clever move there).

Re: Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series To Add New Features, Pre-Orders Now Open

BakaKnight

A shame the tweets confirm hard mode needs to be unlocked by beating the game once, though if max health and damage are the only changes than it's not a big deal.

Probably gonna preorder it later on. I was honestly more interested in a new game, but it's a miracle Namco remembered about Klonoa at all, we gotta make sure they know players wants to support the little fella ;w;

Re: Nintendo Make Changes To Switch Online's Automatic Renewals

BakaKnight

About time honestly.
Always felt it was pretty unfair this "Renewal is active by default, if you want to deactivate it you'll have to do it later following separated steps, if you'll remember. It's not like we can offer you the option here and now...mostly because we don't want to owo". It's not much, but any step in favor of customers is a good step.

Re: Talking Point: Is It Ever A Good Idea To Start At 'The Beginning' Of Series Like Zelda Or Dragon Quest?

BakaKnight

Really depends from the serie and how you want to experience it. I don't think there is one answer that is valid for every serie and every player.

Also, glad to see I wasn't the only one considering recently if playing DQ VIII on 3DS. Though personally I finally gave up and started it a few days ago (tbh I already played it on ps2, but it's one magical lovely adventure worth revisiting).

Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 Delay Sees Nintendo Shares Slump 6%

BakaKnight

Surprised to not see Xenoblade 3 mentioned in the article.

But to be fair this year is well packed of releases, enough that it can be hard to remember all of them (totally forgot about splatoon 3 personally).

No wonder Nintendo thought they could afford to delay and polish the next zelda a bit more and kinda weird to see the shares fall with such a chain of Nintendo titles releasing all along this fiscal year.

Re: Review: Wife Quest - A Bawdy Metroidvania That's Well Worth A Look

BakaKnight

So the impression of the previous article was right, a very cute and good game with a title not even matching half of the quality of the product (my apology to the devs, but I really think this game deserve a title with a little more oomph and creativity).

Definitely in my wishlist and a future purchase. Lovely sprite art, and well done gameplay, worth a try to say the least!

Re: Square Enix Details Current Issues And Future Of New Switch Racer Chocobo GP

BakaKnight

I mean, 'fair changes' I guess.

Those already playing the game will like them while those that gave up on the game will not come back anyway so no point in trying to address them.

Though personally I would need to see them at the very least redo from the ground up the whole monetization system before I reconsider this game. It's not just slightly unbalanced, but a complete money grabbing mess at its very core imo.
But once this kind of games launch they rarely, if ever, can even effort to do such drastic changes. A shame really...

Re: Reminder: You Can Now Download A Free Lite Version Of Chocobo GP On Switch

BakaKnight

Agree with many comments here, the game is just terrible in the way it manage itself.

It's just a money squeezing intentionally confusing unfair F2P game that you need to pay full price in order to even start dealing with all those not fun and expensive issues.

They honestly had a great chance here, ask a full price, but then make the 'F2P' mechanics fair and manageable, but nope, I guess I'm the fool for expecting at least that much...

Really loved the idea of having back Chocobo and his friends racing after years and the graphics are adorable, but I think this is one of the games I deleted the fastest from my switch.

Re: Take-Two Faces Lawsuit Over "Deceptive And Unlawful" Loot Boxes In NBA 2K

BakaKnight

Not sure if this will even hold up in court, honestly I even doubt so, but if companies had to pay 5 millions for each person they scammed with their intentionally bad implemented microtransactions... dear... microtransaction would finally be over or at the very least we could start seeing them implemented in a fair and customer friendly way. (Yes, I like to dream the impossible, I know).
