Honestly doesn't make me very optimistic on how fair they will implement this battle..pardon, 'season' pass.
Looks like a very decent, cute and fun game with just a touch of teasing humour and designs. Also those sprites and animation seems really lovely too!
Almost a shame they went with a title as generic as that, it screams "censored super bad lame nsfw game you better avoid" which is not what the game looks like by the trailer
A simple remaster definitely sounds more fitting. They made some sequels recently after all (one even getting a properly worldwide release on PS4), so it's not like we need the original game remade to see how the gameplay could 'digi'evolve in modern day.
That said, I hope they'll be very careful with the italian version if they go with a simple port. The original release had a bug in a dialogue that made literally impossible to complete the game.
I agree with many comments here, that tweet should be saying "Can't wait to buy Chocobo GP at launch? Let's change that!" cause I suddenly lost all my interest and hype...
Though it's even weirder how they'll give enough 'credits' to unlock Cloud to those who will join the game at launch. I mean...if you know the feature is bad and need a giveaway to not scare players away...then maybe avoid to have the feature in the first place?
I'm however very surprised that neither the review nor the official game's pages mentioned that the 'music database' to summon monsters actually contains many games too. I didn't test it much for now, but there are games from the ps1 era all the way to some of the most recent switch ones (ack, I think I even saw Bayonetta 3 there XD).
Honestly that's super cool and makes it very easy even for someone like me that has little musical knowledge to find good CDs/Cartdridges to summon monsters from.
Lost Kingdom seems like a game I would love, yet I only discovered its existence recently.
But this list prove how the gamecube is literally a treasure cove. Tons of gems forgotten by the time (and the development studios which made them). Honestly a bit mean to say we must play them when they are not that easy to recover ;w;
I personally would add Gotcha Force to the list, that's another lovely and fun forgotten GameCube game I doubt we'll get any news from any time soon.
Making the games accessible for everyone is a great concept if done right. Despite the Pkmn serie always being on the easier side, I saw people managing to get stuck, so making everyone able to play is a plus.
I also really don't mind the current presentation (ack, human models have been between the best around recently) and the core gameplay concept is timeless imo.
HOWEVER... it would be great if they didn't make unavoidable all the changes to help make the games easier and accessible. Forcing those easier changes while removing some of the more challanging features is just a shame for more experts players. Indeed is been really pushing me away from buying newer enteries like the upcoming remakes tbh.
All that said... the online offensive backslash is obviously unexcusable. Criticism is important and needed, but people should never forget to show respect and politeness even when complaining. The fact there are still too many people able to forget such basic rule is just a shame...
I didn't realize until this news, but...but I'm worried now...
Didn't Sonic got a voice actor change in the games when the voice of another media got popular (I think it was the 4kids dub of X back then).
I'm uber glad Martinet wants to keep the role, but we all know he is not calling the shots.
What...what if the movie is successful enough that Nintendo decide to have Mario's voice in the games made by Chris Pratt or a sound-alike for future titles?
10 or less hours make a game short imo, though that's not a negative. I just think is short cause I'm used to RPGs asking way too much time in comparison XD
Better a short, but fun fullfilling game then a long watered down experience, that's for sure. Though price wise it can be tricky. I guess quality and fun play a role too. If a game is short and feels a little too simple and boring then I guess it is a bit of a rip off, but 10 hours of quality and amazing fun can justify the price I guess (note: I haven't play Dread, so I'm just speaking in general, not case in point).
@TheDragonDAFan Tried it a few years ago, not that hard to play Boktai like that if you got the right room and set up. Placed the cube on a beanbag in the middle of the room where the sunlight was pouring in and luckily it was the right distance for both the cables and the controller, I was even playing relatively comfy.
Now for the real issue...I was just about half way in the prologue when I went and checked if the cube was okay...Do NOT place the cube under direct sunlight, it was hot as a oven at max settings!!!
Had to close the game and give up playing like that, didn't want to risk having a cubed melted piece of plastic in place of an awesome little console...
There are just so many ways to play switch games, it's just an amazing little console...and yet... I always use it portable, like the third point of the article, minus the headphones.
I just love to sit down cozy on the sofa or bed and enjoy a good game in peace. It was great with the 3DS, an habit I tried with the Wii U, but that worked only for VC games (the screen was just too dark for some major detailed HD games) and now the switch is just the best for this.
I know some games should be played on a big screen with the best audio and all, but nothing beats for me the cozyness of some nice and comfy handheld gaming.
@FlameRunnerFast Fair point, but not what I meant.
Obviously the company should exclusively own any work in term of freedom of using it, but that shouldn't remove or make futile to properly credit who actually made that work.
Of course, this is also just my opinion and the one of many others. Even in the example I made of XSeed, they technically did nothing wrong, their contract clearly stated they don't credit who isn't in the company anymore by the time of a release. Nothing legally made that wrong and the emploee was aware of it too and it was the fans that were shocked in finding out that someone that had a major influence and role in the work done was removed from the credits.
Indeed this whole topic is about how many of the current 'fair and legal' contracts in the game industry feels wrong, something that, as much as I get your point, I can't shake the feeling that in some cases could benefit from some adjustments and a little more respect for everyone's involvement (though of course the random comment of someone online will not change much, I'm aware of that).
Using 'time on the project' to decide if someone deserve credits also cause an extra problem, what if your work is used again, but you left the company or didn't work on the project reusing your work?
It's not even hypothetical, I remember something similar happened when XSeed worked on a port of one of their localized games. An employee with a big role in the localization left the company between the release of the original and the port, so they just reused the work without credit them (I think even NL reported about it back then).
I get that define who deserve credits may be tricky at times, but it feels like some companies are going the extra mile to make sure to credit as few people as possible. As if their logo is all that matter, not the hard work of all those people that are actually helping and contributing in making that logo shine.
Hard to forget those games exactly cause of those unique puzzles.
Took me an embarassing amount of time (and constant going back and forth thinking I missed something) before finally solving it by accident in Another Code. I closed the console to think out of frustration and heard a weird sound XD
But thank to that it 'only' took me many minutes to realize Phanotm Hourglass was trying to pull the same trick on me.
They really updated the trainers' models a lot. They look so cool and neat! I can't avoid to feel that is a shame that for most of the game we'll have to see them in chibi style instead.
Your review made it abundantly clear it's not pay2win, but it still bother me a little to know that some 'unlockables' available for the single player mode, like cosmetics, are bound to those systems.
Anyway thanks again for the clarification and, obviously, thanks for the great review. Despite my worries I really can't avoid to still be very interested in the game since how much you praised it and clearly enjoyed it.
@SwitchVogel Out of curiosity, are all the rewards from the battle pass, season missions and so on only for multiplayer or are they also used in the single player experience?
I'm super interested in playing a single player RPG CCG campain, but I really don't want to deal with all those free2play-like mechanics to be honest ^^;
If I knew Daisy was going to get such a big nerf I would have considered to buy the game earlier maybe.
I mean, it is a very dumb small change, but she has being saying 'whatever' for a few games now. I did enough boogeys in the past games to consider it as iconic as her 'soft' iconic introduction ;w;
@MysteryCupofJoe Personally I really enjoyed it, that's why I couldn't stop watching it till there were no episodes left.
It's not perfect and there are some tone and style changes as the story progress (between being a long serie and having lost the original creator I guess it was unavoidable), but I think it's an interesting ride worth checking out from start to finish...well, current finish as it's still an on-going serie.
Also sorry if I'm vague, but I believe this is a serie that it's more enjoyable the less you know when going in, I just definitly recommand you to give it a chance.
Rodea for Wii is really an hidden gem. There isn't a more hidden gem than a very fun game that never got officially released and instead got a very limited distibution as a bonus to a port that removed all the good and fun parts the original team designed.
I honestly wished to see an article focused on this version back when the game released (it was kinda tiring to comment on every article about Rodea being just bad to mention the Wii version XD ), but I guess it's better late than never.
Nothing against removing lives, games can have a good challange-punish-reward-etc loop without them (I guess they are really becoming more and more an obsolete system).
But at this point I fear any 'helping' option in Sonic games. The intention is great and positive, but previous games like Lost World made really REALLY hard at times to avoid the help.
I hope this time around they'll make possible to disable such option or that at least they'll make it easy to avoid it.
I'm all for games helping beginners, but if I want to fail a jump 10, 20 or even 30 times until I get it right myself, please let me do it.
I'm kinda confused... The offline version is definitly cute, but the regular one looks so great and they already have all the assets, why not just use those for the offline version too?
I'm sure they got their creative-brand reasons, but still seems a bit of a shame. ...Though I still hope the offline version will be released worldwide. A cute worldwide release of DQX is better than no worldwide release at all.
This kind of games always tempt me...then I remember I already use Unity in my free time and there is such thing as too much game making >.>;;;
Still looks like a great tool for anyone wanting to learn and try game making! The only one thing off seems to be the code sharing system, feels like it will really restrict the potential of the title on the long run.
I get the point of making sure both them and the publishers gets a bit out of it, help the system run and makes more likely publishers will be willing to offer the good games.
That said... 15% being the 'extra' max charity option feels like an incredibly small amount for a deal all based on donating to charities....
Snap is a different matter, noone expect to see the full Pokédex here (or at least I doubt many would expect it, surely not the fans of the original).
But we do expect a lot of animations, fun unexpected scenes to photograph and a wink to the pokedex's entries here and there where possible.
The potential is all there and they got decades of updates and new content to take advantage of, they really would need to work hard to screw this up badly XD; (please don't make this the famous last words...)
The title of this article is every company dream, don't ask for the product to be better and last longer, ask for something new to buy asap.
My switch for now is fine luckily and so many of my much older consoles, but, if I'll need a switch pro to release cause the old one died of some 'natural unavoidable issue', I can assure you I won't be very thankful to Nintendo >.>;;;
Honestly, despite having played too OoT a lot, I didn't find Wii TP's map any weird. Though I will admit, I discovered the map was flipped much later and then felt a bit of regret as if I didn't play the 'real' experience.
That said... when I got my hands on the HD remake, that didn't help or solve anything.
I'll never get why, but they decided to combine the difficulty and the world-flipping options togheter and as a long time fan a bit of extra challange was not something I could pass on, even at cost of losing again the chance to explore the 'real' TP's Hyrule...
I had no clue this franchise existed, but I often search on the eShop for a new card or anime game to try. Since this is both it will definitly be a fine addition to my wishlist to say the least~
That's a fair and very understandable reply.
Honestly I really enjoyed Last Story, but personally I'm not sure if I would even be interested about a remaster or remake.
...but what about a spiritual successor? Last Story included, they got some pretty good/great IPs there that are just begging to get more entries! I hope they'll consider that eventually.
Wait..what is this? How did I totally miss the release of a Power Stone like game?
Thank you Miriam! Not only I'm sure you'll be a great addition to their roster, but your arrival will advertise the game properly (at least it worked for me, good job!).
A collection of TRPG I always wanted to play, but never got the chance to even add to my collection.
So tempting, yet so many play hours required... Call me interest and worried at same time, but mostly interested XD
Still very happy to see NIS showing off their old catalogue!
"Have you been swayed by our coverage of Story of Seasons?"
Kinda?
You got my interest back into the serie, but between hearing how different this new entry will be, not having played an HM/SoS in ages and finding Trio of Towns pretty cheap, I decided to jump on that game instead.
Judging by the first critics I may have done the right move, but I'm still really curious to see how Pioneers of Olive Town will fare once it will be officially released and more reviews will be around.
I'm definitly happy they are still following this philosophy.
Sure there are some aspects that can be tweaked, like going easy to fan-projects or not making some series and old games dissapear forever in their archives, but with so many companies willing to turn any property in a bad cash-grab game if they can, I'm glad Nintendo is still careful about their IPs and characters.
With only 240 characters for each question I couldn't really be specific, which means I had to cut a lot and provide a lame short undetailed feedback. Like, I feel there are a couple of basic features missing, but I had no space to specifically say which ones, so I hope they can figure it out themselves........ which kinda kills the point of having feedbacks to begin with...
Really not sure how many useful replies they will get like this, though personally the demo didn't really hype me anyway for the release. I think it's a very competent TRPG and there are some very good ideas in it, so it may even get a good success and a healthy fanbase, but, for me, nothing made me wish to play more and see the full game tbh.
Honestly this may be the first time that I found the advertisment way more intriguing than the actual game footage.
All those different characters and style was pretty cool to see, so different and all, then...BAM... all the same! It's like they were hyping me for the wrong game.
Actually I miss them a lot, even the Wii U and 3DS digital ones (even if pretty barebones and colorless) were better than the nothing we constantly get nowaday ;w;
Personally I find this to be a fun, although very silly (which afterall is literally the point), on rail shooter.
Is definitly simpler than the newer entries, but that also mean the gameplay feels more focused (no extra bonus targets or objectives, no extra mechanics, just aim and shoot at the 'enemies') and at the harder difficulty I even found it a bit more challanging at times. The girls hit (confess?) faster and you get no upgrades, so I took damage and did mistakes that the more recent versions almost seemed to try to patch out and help you avoid.
Also the 4 routes are definitly simpler with no extra missions and no different paths, but by being completly separated they also manage to offer more of variation with their events and minigames.
Not gonna say it's perfect and the fact it's more basic than its sequels is still probably a downside despite its pros, but if you can accept the main concept and story for the silly scenario that it is, then this is definitly a solid fun on-rail shooter imo.
I don't know Mahler well, but his point against lying dev is simply right.
It always bother me when some developers show up claiming they're game is the moon when they barely have a pebble.
Sure, making a great game, or even an okay one isn't easy, but that's not an excuse to skip the hard work and jump immediatly to claim you did it and gain the profit from it.
Even the fact these lied games get fixed eventually isn't an excuse. they may get fixed, but meanwhile they literally stolen the spotlight and sales from other games that actually released as promess and needed no fix, which can likely turn out to be a damage for this honest games and devs.

Re: Review: Chocobo GP - A Surprising Mario Kart 8 Alternative For Final Fantasy Fans
Love how confusing this is getting..
By all the means the game has what sound like a battle pass system, but by calling it a season pass, noone even know if or what they should complain about.
It's amazing how they made sure to be as clear as possible about the gameplay quality, but are making a mess in clarifying the microtransaction system ahead of the release.
Honestly doesn't make me very optimistic on how fair they will implement this battle..pardon, 'season' pass.
Re: Naughty Metroidvania 'Wife Quest' Launches On Switch In March

Re: Mario Strikers: Battle League May Have In-Game Purchases, According To ESRB Rating
So that's why Daisy isn't in the roster!
They are holding back the best character to sell her later as DLC! Can't say I like such tactic, but well played Nintendo.

Re: New Pokémon Snap Director Explains How They Decided Which Pokémon Would Make The Cut
Re: Soapbox: Hurry Up And Release The Switch Pro Already, My Switch Is Dying
The title of this article is every company dream, don't ask for the product to be better and last longer, ask for something new to buy asap.
My switch for now is fine luckily and so many of my much older consoles, but, if I'll need a switch pro to release cause the old one died of some 'natural unavoidable issue', I can assure you I won't be very thankful to Nintendo >.>;;;
Re: Feature: Zelda: Twilight Princess' Flipped World On Wii Made Me Go A Little Cucco
Re: Cygame's Card-Battler Shadowverse Gets A Local Release On Switch This Summer
I had no clue this franchise existed, but I often search on the eShop for a new card or anime game to try.
Since this is both it will definitly be a fine addition to my wishlist to say the least~
Re: Mistwalker Boss Not Interested In Reviving Studio's Older Games
That's a fair and very understandable reply.
Honestly I really enjoyed Last Story, but personally I'm not sure if I would even be interested about a remaster or remake.
...but what about a spiritual successor? Last Story included, they got some pretty good/great IPs there that are just begging to get more entries! I hope they'll consider that eventually.
Re: Watch: Video Game Historians Are About To Unbox 600 Rare And Retro Game Magazines
I wonder if old italian gaming magazines hold some gaming historic value too...
I kept all the ones I had back in the days. Not enough to fill as many boxes I think, but they are still quite a lot.
Re: Bloodstained's Miriam Joins 3D Brawler Mighty Fight Federation This Spring
Wait..what is this?
How did I totally miss the release of a Power Stone like game?
Thank you Miriam! Not only I'm sure you'll be a great addition to their roster, but your arrival will advertise the game properly (at least it worked for me, good job!).
Re: NIS Classics Volume 1 Brings Retro JRPGs Phantom Brave and Soul Nomad To Switch This Summer
A collection of TRPG I always wanted to play, but never got the chance to even add to my collection.
So tempting, yet so many play hours required... Call me interest and worried at same time, but mostly interested XD
Still very happy to see NIS showing off their old catalogue!
Re: Watch: Streamers Are Showing Off Story of Seasons: Pioneers Of Olive Town In English
@KateGray Everyone seems to love TrioOfTowns, that's why I couldn't resist to pick it up even with OliveTown so close to release!
Re: Watch: Streamers Are Showing Off Story of Seasons: Pioneers Of Olive Town In English
Re: Video: We Take A Look At The Hidden Mario Golf Game That Didn't Star Mario
Did..did they even advertise at all the Capcom's costumes or the Mario Golf influences?
Every screenshot here makes me wanna buy it, but I never saw anything about the game that pushed me into purchase it back in the day.
Re: Nintendo Aims To Develop Its Characters Without "Destroying" The Memories Of Fans
Re: Rare's Cancelled N64 Project Dinosaur Planet Originally Starred The "Cute Tiger" From Diddy Kong Racing
Poor Timber...
Such a powerful predator relegated to secondary character by a monkey and kicked out of his own adventure by a wolf.
As someone that always picked him in DKR I really feel bad for the poor little kitty...
Re: Nintendo Gives Us A Look At The Switch Box Art For Zelda: Skyward Sword HD
It's so weird to see the same cover of the Wii version.
I may be totally wrong, but I don't think they ever reused artworks for any HD, 3D or remake of a Zelda rerelease.
But it is a good cover, so maybe it was just a matter that they didn't know how to top it XD
Re: Nintendo Wants To Know What You Think About The Demo For Square Enix's New Tactical RPG
Do they really want to know what we think?
Re: Introducing Knockout City, A New Dodgeball Game From The Developer Of Mario Kart Live
Honestly this may be the first time that I found the advertisment way more intriguing than the actual game footage.
All those different characters and style was pretty cool to see, so different and all, then...BAM... all the same! It's like they were hyping me for the wrong game.
Re: Overcooked's Mega 'All You Can Eat' Bundle Is Coming To Switch Next Month
This seems poorly timed.
The free trial with the discount is still active on NSO, very surprised they revealed this bundle in the middle of it.
Re: Review: Neoverse Trinity Edition - Compelling Yet Obtuse Card Battling With Too Many Technical Hitches
"we don’t want instruction manuals"
Actually I miss them a lot, even the Wii U and 3DS digital ones (even if pretty barebones and colorless) were better than the nothing we constantly get nowaday ;w;
Re: Review: Gal*Gun Returns - A Mechanically Basic Yawn-Fest
Re: Ori Director Criticises "Snake Oil Salesmen" Behind No Man's Sky, Cyberpunk, And Fable
