I mean, I'm still waiting the chance to play Gotta Protector 1 or 2 in EU, but if they are releasing only now their NES game I guess I'll have a wait a 'little' longer for the 3DS ones ;w;
Honestly have to agree, it's a pretty dissapointing demo.
The ideas are there, there's a lot of potential for a very fun game, but the switch version is unplayable and even the technically playable PS4 version still suffer for a lack of 'something' in the game design.
A true shame, I really got high hopes for this game since Naka was involved and Rodea (Wii) was surprisingly fun, but it feels like something went wrong during Balan's production and maybe even in an early design stage...
Not to want to discredit that one comment, but...come on.. no, they can't have been doing it to avoid confusion with Applin. I mean... you can't go "Let's call this pokémon based on the name of this fruit" and then "Oh wait, this fruit name sounds like the one of our pokémon, let's change it!".
I really hope that won't turn out to be the real explanation cause it would be too hilariously dumb XD
Monster Tale, the short, but very cute and fun monster-metroidvania game we never got in Europe cause "There is no point in releasing in Europe a game players will surely pirate before we even finish the localization".
Been years and that comment still bothers me, especially since I had to import the game to give them a totally 'impossible' european sale. Really hope they developed a little more trust in their playerbase since then, would love to see the game finally coming to Europe 10 years later.
I feel the pain like almost everyone around here it seems XD
I have a scary backlog, even games I bought years ago on PS2 that are still in my "one day maybe I'll play them" list, let alone all the recent ones for switch or 3DS. I have an hard time not buying a game I may like if it's cheap and it's surprising how the deals can tempt you often and when you least expect it.
That's why I decided to buy little to no game this year to focus only on my backlog and finish at least all the games I started and that I wish to finish before adding more games to my collection. ....then two days ago I saw a very good deal for a game that looked very cute and interesting and my resolution died instantly, I barely lasted 3 days over 365 ;w;
It's a smart developer move, but that's also a super amazing future for Mii-based games that instead is being kept behind the scenes for developers-only use ;w;
I mean... it's funny cause despite being a glitch it also kinda works like an old style unlock challange.
Want to play an OP godmode? Beat the game in a full sit without saving or dying! Ack..this is not even an old style challange, this is actually a schoolground's rumour made true XD
He gave some very nice and interesting answears and I feel like there is no reason to doubt that Nintendo is in good hands.
That said...Even if that wasn't the case I really really doubt he would publically say something like: "Once I'm gone is over! Over I tell you! Nintendo will be doomed without me! Mario? Link? Their legacy will die in terrible terrible bad designed games!!!" ..though I guess that would have made even more of a news if it happened XD
Are those the new rules of the actual game or just a variant for this specific videogame?
Like... they may sound like a small changes, but gosh... that will dramatically change the game's pace and strategies. Can't deny I am at the very least interested to hear more.
@nhSnork Please don't compare "unlocking stuffs in freemiun games" to "unlock the final boss battle to skip the game".
With all respect, it's two different worlds. I love to play a game to slowly grind and win with skill my way to a final boss, but I had to stop playing many freemium games as what they lock behind their systems are characters, weapons, abilities and all kind of stuffs you usually unlock with effort, level up and story progression.
I guess I'm still 'impatience' cause I can't stand how long it takes to unlock characters and other things without paying, but when most freemium games requires from the player hours of gameplay time or a lot of money for a slim chance to maybe maybe get one thing (which usually doesn't happen)..it kinda kill the pace for me.
I definitely prefer a regular priced game where I can unlock everything with the right effort and progression pace instead than the freemium time, chance and money sink model, but maybe is just me.
@Clyde_Radcliffe Saw your comment evolve and change between edits, getting less and less positive XD;;;
Yeah, they publish so many games that it's a true mixed bag, but I think some of them are definitly worth a spin, especially when on sale (or well, for free, that's a price very hard to argue with).
This is too good to be true, more than a leak it seems an attempt to force Capcom into making all these games and localizations by showing how hyped and interested the players worldwide are.
...Can't deny it's working if that's the case however, cause I'm definitely hyped and excited just at the remote chance these leaks may be true.
An unlikely to be true leak with tons of Capcom titles that are every fan's dream and NOT even there we have a new Ace Attorney game! This is so... I mean... give me a second, I need to cry...
Loved the demo and all the flaws are of the kind that I doubt will bother me.
Surprised to know it's also a much smaller game then the original Hyrule Warriors (not reaching the triple digit of play time with the extras is 'short' for a Warrior game in general tbh). But to me that sounds like a plus too. Love the warrios games, but the usual amount of extra missions it's way WAY too much for me to handle @.@;
My money have been ready for ages to buy the Great Ace Attorney games, though knowing Capcom I can't avoid to agree with the article that we will likely never see such collection here in the west.....
Definitely interested, the games Naka works on aren't the most polish, but are always pretty interesting and fun.
@roboshort Unless I remember wrong, Rodea for Wii U wasn't Naka's fault. The original version he made with his team for Wii is pretty good (if anything I had a lot of fun with it), but before releasing on Wii U and 3DS the game got drastic changes forced by..the publisher I think... that completly destroyed the pace and gameplay of the title.
Noticed them in a video before the release and I was so confused on how I didn't see them while playing the gamecube version. No wonder I missed them if they are invisible, mistery solved XD
@Andymad I already mentioned it in another comment, but I simply couldn't stop play after starting the original version.
My idea was just to play a shine or two to hype myself toward the HD release, but once I started I just wanted to play more and more until I got to defeat Bowser.
Yap, the plan to hype me for the release of the collection ended up ruining that hype instead, I blame it on how addictive Mario's platformers are.
Decided to skip the purchase after I ended up replaying Sunshine on gamecube last week, which was the game I wanted the most to replay (Galaxy controls on Switch sounds unappeling to me and Mario 64 is the least interesting of the pack cause of the VC viability).
That said, I hate to admit that the limited tactic is unfairly effective, I have no reason to buy the game now, yet I'm tempted and I may end up buying it eventually just to avoid any regret later.
Very understandable and they should do it more often.
Every time I played Monster Hunter I always got confused on how I was not haunting an energy drink and don't let me even start with Pokémon, it always bothered me that in 20 years of games I never caught a can of Monster that would fit in my pocket.
It's clear there are a lot of very confusing games' names around and not at all an energy drink brand using a very common term.
@Erviper If there is someone hating Sunshine I could totally understand why XD
I know I said I couldn't stop play it, but while it's a very fun game, it's also a super frustrating one.
Honestly a shame that the collection won't offer any change to the gameplay cause I think Sunshine would really benefit a lot from some small key changes here and there, way more then 64 or Galaxy.
Mario Sunshine looks really good in HD, makes me regret a bit that I just finished today a playthrough of the original.
I know, terrible timing, but I kept repeting myself "Just another shine then I'll stop and play it in HD later" and before I knew it I was defeating Bowser and saving the island in 480p XD
No surprise here. The game was defined as 'Limited' by Nintendo and it was so sudden many retailers weren't ready to list it, causing confusion over where and how preorder it.
Aside how weird the limited decision is, I'm really surprised Nintendo didn't plan it all out a little better to avoid give scalpers a lot of easy prays.
Didn't know shiny were this common in GO...
Hacked ones were already devaluing the concept, but didn't think there was an official game causing the same issue.
Personally I think that the balance between rarity and obtainable was pretty good in Sun and Moon. You still had to shiny hunt and it wasn't guarantee you could find a shiny, yet the method was simple and easy to follow and the odds were good enough that I managed to snatch a couple of the shinies I absolutely wanted. They were special and hard to get, yet there was a realistic chance to get a few if you tried.
@SwitchVogel Just my personal opinion, but I think it would be worthy to update the review and add clarifications about how the game handle multiplayer and players' progress.
For those expecting to play a 'remastered' of the multiplayer game they enjoyed years ago it could be a huge deal breaker if the multiplayer is only a 'join other players in dungeons' and not a full 'join the adventure' which include villages, cutscenes and progression as the original game did.
Definitely it changed my opinion of the game, I was very tempted to buy it after reading the review, but after seeing your comment and clarifications to Panopticon it's more likely that I'll skip it.
So many memories of this game, I think I started 5-6 different playthrough, each one with a different set of people. Most ended after a dungeon or two, but it was still fun XD
Definitely interested in giving this a shot since I already have a friend ready to departure with me.
For some reason it feels like the plans to add multiplayer to this game were done very quickly and last minute, which is super weird given this is a remaster of a multiplayer focused game @.@
@carlos82 My bad, my only experience was with the switch port of the first game, I didn't clarify that well enough.
Still all the bugs, glitches and the overall mess it was, I don't know how much was added and how much was carried over, but it was stunning in a way. They fitted very well with the game's tone, so much so I thought they were present in the original game, and they sincerely made the experience more enjoyable for me.
Not to say I like broken games, far from it, but Deadly Premonition Origins was a very enjoyable exception for me.
The fix improve it up to be as laggy as the first game XD
But given that part of the charm of this serie is how messy the game is on the technical side, I feel a bit bad I still didn't have the chance to play it and that I'll eventually have to do it on a patched version.
@Heavyarms55 "My question here would be, why use the Wii U browser for YouTube instead of the app?"
Not sure in recent years, but I used to watch youtube in the browser of the Wii U a lot a few years ago. It worked like a charm, a perfect solid video experience.
The app wasn't as solid. If I recall I gave it a shot, but from the search to how results were displayed to even the video player, the browser was just more user friendly and did everything better. (again, speaking of a few years ago, though I doubt they updated much the app for the Wii U).
@Yosher I know, the chances are so low it's not even funny, but I'm crossing my fingers that they'll consider how a collection is a gold chance to try again to push the franchise in the west.
Smaller project? Focus on the Xenoblade brand? They could make some spin-offs like a racing game, a board game, a fighting game or well... anything honestly.
They got the characters and the locations, they could make so much work with it if they want to!
At this point smash characters' guessing is so out of control I'm surprised is not trolling all the way. Sharing every game he play, retweeting every game related news and then just enjoy the fans burning themselves with their theories and speculations.
@ReaperExTenebris Fair point, if he trolled as I said then we would have ten articles of speculations and rumours here on NL everyday XD;;;
Is that even a "reject"? For what I'm reading Miyamoto only told them he didn't care for the game design's documentation as he wanted them to work on the game. Sounds mean, but make sense, I'm barely an amateur game developer in my free time, yet I can confirm how games pretty much never end up looking as the original design pitch.
They even got the chance to work on the game to develop that pitch and it got axed only after an year in development afterall (if then it got rightly axed or not, that's a different story for another article I guess).
@ShadJV That even guessing the programmers and team even knew there was a bug. The wrong smoke looks okay if you don't know any better, I can imagine both testers and team members not involved with the effect failing to realize there was a problem and therefore never reporting it.
If that was the case I really feel bad for the artist and programmer that made this effect just to play the final released game and see what happened. It must be so annoying, frustrating beyond believe.
Very hyped gameplay wise, but I have to wonder if they fixed the italian translation.
Given I can play the game in english, but I find hard to fully support a game with an official italian translation where every single line is wrong... (At least that was the case for 1/2 Genie Hero, a comical embarassing mess that shouldn't be in such a beautiful serie >.<).

Re: Shantae And The Seven Sirens Sets Course For Switch This May, New Details Revealed
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #34 - Perfect Dark

Re: LEGO Super Mario Officially Unveiled, Features Interactive Mario And Fan-Favourite Characters
Looks really fun and well made, but I can't avoid to see the concept as "Super Mario Maker - Expensive Lego Edition" XD
