Re: Review: Fire Emblem Heroes (Mobile)

BakaKnight

Really enjoying the game so far, it's not the typical Fire Emblem, but as a sort of lite spin-off for quick plays is pretty much perfect.

I just find some choices with the number of items required odd for say the least, but considering how worse most mobile games do I don't think I should complain too much XD

Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Responds to Criticism Over the Switch Launch Line-Up

BakaKnight

I sincerely agree with this tactic and never found the launch line-up really that weak. It's clear that nintendo is not aiming to sell as many console as possible at launch, but before the end of 2017 and I see nothing wrong with that.
Zelda at launch with Mario Kart close is perfect for sell the Switch to those that skipped the Wii U and Wii U owners like me will be pushed before the end of the year to upgrade with the new games coming out.
Sure, having all those games ready at launch would have sounded awesome, but it would have been also an overkill honestly XD

Re: Mario Sports Superstars Heading to Europe on 10th March

BakaKnight

Well, I love this game and love amiibo, never expected however that the two would meet up in such a way to ruin each other >_>;;;

Luckily it still sound like an amazing fun game, but with such a release date I'll have to switch between this and Zelda Wii U instead than actually get a Switch XD

Re: Eiji Aonuma Confirms that Breath of the Wild Will Not Support a Japanese Dub Over English Subtitles

BakaKnight

Not a problem for me, I will happily play the game fully in Italian, but overall it's annoying how more and more modern games bind their settings with the ones of the console (and it's not just a Zelda's matter, many games love to have their default untouchable settings).

I don't think anyone ever complained of the existence of the options' menu in games, develloppers should abuse it more, not try to make it die DX

Re: Soapbox: It's Nintendo's Job To Make Switch A Success, Not EA's, Ubisoft's Or Capcom's

BakaKnight

Well, yes, third parties job is not making sure the Switch sell, but I thought that was a given.

It's Nintendo job to do that and I honestly think we are on the right track, while I managed to buy the 3DS and Wii U at a huge price drop thanks to the lack of even first party releases, the Switch first year line-up made pretty clear I won't be able to do that again, not unless I'm willing to skip some games I really can't wait to play.

Regarding third parties I'm just glad they are taking the Switch release more seriously, just a promess to be there for test the water without huge claims of exclusives and unprecedent support. Those will have to come anyway if the Switch sell, afterall Nintendo is still releasing a console weaker than the competition and two consoles ago the Wii's sales forced the poor third parties to mostly release exclusive titles as they had no way to port their multiplatform ones XD

Re: First Impressions: Getting Strategic in Disgaea 5 Complete

BakaKnight

Disgaea games are amazing, fantastic characters, great TRPG battle system, but they are also the only games I ever met that made me think that there is a thing as too much contenent XD

I'll probably skip this one, I have enough hard time finishing much shorter TRPGs like FE, this is way out of my schedule >.>;;;

Re: Fire Emblem Warriors Arrives on Switch & New Nintendo 3DS This Fall

BakaKnight

Hyped about FE Warriors, but they could have made a batter trailer.
All it confirmed is the ability to fight hundreads of soldiers and using special moves... not really the details I would call new infos. Althought... I could be wrong... the number of enemies on screen was pretty high, higher than in Hyrule Warriors on Wii U even; a showcase of the Switch's potential?

Anyway the 3DS port is a wonderful news, it really raises my hopes; all 3DS warriors games (Samurai Chonicles, Hyrule Legends) have the mechanic of controlling and guiding more characters on the battlefield; FE Warriors will be on 3DS, the mechanic is literally a FE one, at this point it's pretty much confirmed for this game too, right? Right?! ;w;

Re: Talking Point: Considering the Paid Online Service for the Nintendo Switch

BakaKnight

Most technical concerns should be easy to deal with thanks to the trail period, it's clear that they are confident in their service, else noone will start paying for it once the trial is over.

My main problem, as I mentioned too many times, is how these paid services kinda cut the userbase in half, those always playing online can pretty much pay and accept such fee, afterall they're gonna get back more value than they paid for, but for the users like me that just like some occassionally online sessions this is a terrible choice between giving up a small, but appreciated, part of our gaming life or pay for a service we won't use enough for justify the price.

I really hope Nintendo will address somehow this "issue" instead then ignore it entirely as the competition does (unless Nintendo's service will be so cheap to make all my complains pointless, but I hardly imagine them going much cheaper than the other consoles at this point ^_^;;; ).

Re: Rumour: Fire Emblem Fates Could Be Getting A Nintendo Switch Port

BakaKnight

By the way...At a closer look, that's not even hidden code XD
The write "Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation for nintendo Switch" would appear to anyone entering into the Warriors' page and failing to load the logo of "Revelation" that links to the 3DS game (which is at the bottom of the page).
It's very hard to imagine they would reveal they're upcoming port to anyone failing to load a pic, most likely the programmer had to write "for nintendo Switch" so much that day that they went overboard and accidentally turned Revelation too in a Switch game >w>;;;

Re: Nintendo Switch Lacks Pack-In Title Because It's $299, Says Reggie Fils-Aime

BakaKnight

I have Wii Play, not a great game, but it was a worthy purchase since it was bundled with a wiimote and yet cost like a standalone wiimote, so the game was literally free.

If that's the title I have to compare 1,2 Switch with then 1,2 Switch really must be a bad game not worthy of a purchase as a standalone thing... how to say... Reggie didn't really pick a good example this time around ^_^;;;

Re: Breaking Down the Nintendo Switch Online Service Details

BakaKnight

@Sinton Yes and no.
For put it in another way, all contenent exclusive to Plus members can only be used by a Plus member.
If you interrupt your Subscription, you're not a Plus member anymore and therefore you can't access all the games, themes and DLC you got for free as part of the Plus Subscription, but if you renown the Subscription you gain back your access to them.

So, it's not accurate to say you "lose" all the games by unsubscribing from the Plus service, but that's pretty much the case for those planning to stop using the Plus service and never renown it again.

Re: Breaking Down the Nintendo Switch Online Service Details

BakaKnight

I'm not sure if "renting" the games is a bad thing, if anything the Nintendo service will be easier to interrupt.
On PsPlus and XboxGold you keep the games, but the more you build up your free library the more interrupting the service can sound fearsome as all the titles you got in this way will be unusable after the unsubscription.

Still my main problem remain with the basic multiplayer online being part of the paid service, for people like me that play 90-95% offline it's hard to consider acceptable this pay2play service, but I also loved that 5-10% of time I used to spend online >.<

Expecting the service to be priced similar to the competition I kinda hope that nintendo will offer a much cheaper option that only include the online multiplayer without all the other trinkets.
I would definitely consider to pay few euros each year for play online, but an high price for a service and bonuses I would barely use? No thanks >_>;;;

Re: Fire Emblem Nintendo Direct Confirmed for 18th January

BakaKnight

@PlywoodStick I wouldn't say there is such a huge oxymoron here, FE and the Warriors serie actually have a key gameplay element in common, the need to be aware everytime of what's happening on the whole map and plan according to it.
It can appear less obvious in a Warrior game (and I don't deny the strategy is not at level with any strategy-focused game), but just button-smashing enemies while aiming to the objective can easily bring to quick defeats in the more challanging maps.

I definitely have my hopes high in this regard, Warriors games based on other franchises usually borrow some elements from them, and the only thing I can imagine they can take from FE is an even deeper approch on the strategy aspect.
.....or maybe they'll just play safe and make a copy of Hyrule Warriors with the addition of perma death >_>;;;

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the Nintendo Switch Presentation?

BakaKnight

Loved the presentation, the only thing I missed for join the Switch hype was a nice software reveal and with things like Mario, Fire Emblem Warriors and more I'm convinced I'll have to buy the Switch at some point without any "maybe".

My only problem is the paid-service, with how casually I play online it's an hard sell for me, but not having it will cut me out of Splatoon, the only online shooter I ever enjoyed ;w;
(And I know Splatoon 2 will have free online with the trial period, but buy a game knowing it will be unplayable in a matter of few months is...not the sweetest deal for say the least >.<).

Re: Nintendo Switch Will Cost £279.99 In The UK

BakaKnight

Obviously it's gonna cost more in pounds then dollars...

But I'm lucky cause I'm in Italy and pay with Euro! (sarcasm)
Gamestop already setted the price at 330€ which is even higher then a straight pounds2euro conversion -.-;;;
Really hope they are pushing it a bit higher and that the final price will be set at least a little bit lower in the next days.

Re: Nintendo Switch to Introduce Paid Online Service in Autumn / Fall

BakaKnight

Literally the only bad news in the whole presentation for me, I love to play online, but not consistently enough for a paid service (assuming it will cost like the competition).
Althought they mentioned a ton of stuffs, like chat and more, by smartdevices, so I'm holding to the thin hope that the basic multiplayer experience will still be avaiable for free.

EDIT: Well, at least Nintendo was kind enough to crush my thin hope soon by better defining the service on their page >.>;

Re: Confusion Reigns Over Zelda: Breath Of The Wild's Release Date In Europe

BakaKnight

@Solid_Stannis I disagree, maybe because I grew up forced to learn English in order to play some games, or maybe it's because when a game is translated it feels like a proof that gaming got a bigger relevance around here, but I can't avoid to see every game properly translated in italian as a victory.
Althought I do agree more people should study english, it's just a too useful knowledge for fully ignore it.

Re: Devil's Third Loses Its Saving Grace as Online Servers Are Closed

BakaKnight

Played the game not even a week ago, but didn't even try the multiplayer since I knew the servers were closing so soon.

Still not feel like the game have lost its "saving grace" or something like that, I really liked the campaign a lot, I found it to be a very fun game with crazy action and I needed a frenetic gameplay like that after too many hours spent with RPGs XD

Re: Editorial: The Nintendo Switch 'Power' Debate is Likely Missing the Point

BakaKnight

Focusing the debate about the Switch on power alone is unavoidable; sadly nowaday it seems that the standard gamer is the one that can't even look at a game, let alone play it, if it doesn't have a 16k resolution and runs at 999 frames per seconds, therefore a console is not even worthy to be taken in consideration if it's not powerful enough for run a game on the higher than the highest settings.

Just for be clear, I don't agree with that, I can personally enjoy a game at low resolution and 20fps if it's good, but that just make me and many MANY others not-standard gamers for the industry >_>;

Re: Nintendo Shuts Down Another Pokémon Fan Project

BakaKnight

It's surely a pain to lose eight years of work, but if you do a project like this then you know that this can happen.

Doesn't help either that they even used the official Pokemon logo for the thing, by doing that as soon as their project raised in popularity they placed Nintendo in the position to lose their trademark if they said nothing; no wonders they intervened and shutted the thing down.

Re: The First Pokémon Sun and Moon 'Global Mission' Was a Bit of a Flop

BakaKnight

@Rei Well, it's great to hear they at least read the mails, even the timing is not weird considering Sun and Moon just came out. Guess their support team works afterall, too bad it's likely overwhelemed and too slow for be useful right now because whoever is in charge of the support site is not updating it since 2009 or something >_>;

Re: The First Pokémon Sun and Moon 'Global Mission' Was a Bit of a Flop

BakaKnight

A shame we didn't reach the goal, but indeed they made it too complicated to participate...
I had to make a new account as the old one was unusable, no matter what I tried, and it helps even less that the support section of the site (the Italian one at least) is still based on the Pokemon dreamworld of black and white which closed ages ago >.>;

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Thinks Nintendo Should Have Made Minecraft

BakaKnight

No surprise they discarded the idea, I bet that in the N64 days it wasn't that easy to fully implement, those blocky graphics were pulling hardwares limits back then (gosh, if things changed fast XD) and by the time the CPUs were strong enough the big names in the industry like Nintendo were pretty much forced to push those CPUs to the limit.

Re: Miyamoto on the Reasoning Behind Super Mario Run's Pricing

BakaKnight

@Moms-Meowth Actually you're quote is not wrong, only the context. Iwata said that regarding the port of classic games like Super mario Bros for NES on smartphone, simple lazy ports on touch screens of iconic games requiring phisical button would have been a quick easy cash and everyone in that period was expecting Nintendo to do that, but Iwata refused for the sake of gameplay's quality and Nintendo's name.
That's why he pushed Nintendo in the DeNA deal and the making of Super Mario Run. Nintendo is still following his wishes, even the price of Super mario Run proves it as they are aiming at a fair deal for all their gamers instead then try to cash as much as they can with the "keep paying" style all smartphone games use nowaday.

Re: Pokémon Sun & Moon Sales Pass 2 Million in Europe

BakaKnight

@Late To be fair mine was mostly a joke, given how hard it is to partecipate and how NOT in-game advertised the thing is I'm even surprised we reached 10 millions XD

But The Pokemon Company really need to fix their site, I couldn't log on in anyway to my old account, I typed all the datas asked and all I got was a "The access to the site from this computer have been temporary disabled" for the many tries they forced me to do; eventually I had to give up and make a new account using an old e-mail for sign in -.-;
