Meh...-.-
Crap rewards. I'm not going to spend my hard-earned coins and points on lame percentage discounts. I want full games with my coins and points.
MyNintendo is a complete waste of my time.
I really miss the old Club Nintendo rewards.
I will probably get Paper Mario and Yoshi's Story
Nintendo needs to just take this site down. There is no point to it. Nothing to spend coins on also with crap rewards and stuff I'm pretty sure that over 80% of us long time fans already have.
I have over 2500 plats and 200 gold coins with nothing to spend them on because Nintendo is wasting our time with this program
and now the rewards are lasting till Dec it seems. Nintendo isn't even trying to help themselves with this site and its a shame.
Psychical rewards, full games, indies or $5-$20 redeems can help out, but Nintendo just seems stubborn in letting down its fans lately
I wonder if people even realize a lot of this program was likely intended with NX in mind
Can NL do a My Nintendo poll? I know it will probably end poorly, I'm not illiterate, but I'm just wondering if it's 70-30 or 90-10 against.
It's pouring raining outside, the angels are weeping for the old Club Nintendo. Or maybe Wii U, it's hard to tell, but there's more than enough rain to go around.
I'm so disappointed with My Nintendo.
I truly hope for more physical rewards at some point. The Wii mote holder and large basket peripheral holder, from the Old Club Nintendo, are great.
@rjejr
Ha! I'm in LA where it's sunshine & sweltering hot, and those rewards suck here as well!
"A new DS game? Nah, we were way to generous with Warioware."
This isn't my Nintendo. It should be called their Nintendo.
In the past, I looked to Club Nintendo as a place to get physical stuff available no where else. Now, except for the Miitomo stuff and Zelda Picross, everything is always available to anyone in the eShop.
These are #bad
@Spoony_Tech Needs a ba-dum ching.
It's so salty in here!
Eh, My Nintendo sucks, but it's still better than Sony's and Microsoft's nonexistent programs.
I find the new system obtuse, irritating, poor value, and utterly uninspiring.
I don't want two/three different point systems to keep track of. I don't want to carry out inane and vaguely manipulative tasks for bonus points. I don't want to spend a massive wadge of them for 15% off a digital game that is already available for 40% off at retail.
It's just too confusing and forgettable and unrewarding to really bother engaging with.
Not the worst thing in the world to screw up, but still, it's a shame.
I honestly kind of gave up on this.
I'm currently playing a game of solitaire with the Super Mario Club Nintendo playing cards I got a few years back. Never thought I would miss CN this much.
The rewards are meh, but I'll likely get the Fire Emblem discount. That game has been on my wish list for some time now.
I thought they would add a new n64 game by now...... (also the deals are despicable )
Ya'll better off getting sticker star on game stop as it sells for less than the discounted price as far as I can tell.
They just have to put SS out of all the games lol... Pushmo World and Fire Emblem are pretty good but the discount should be way higher lol like at least 50%... When this thing first launched WarioWare Touched was a step in the right direction but that's the only DS game they have so far... I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE MORE DS GAMES NINTENDO
@ElkinFencer10 I'll just leave these here
http://www.sonyrewards.com/en/home/
https://rewards.xbox.com/
(Still better then Nintendos)
Their so-called rewards are insulting. They only discount games that everyone already has or could get much cheaper in a physical copy format.
I guess I HAVE to spend my Platinum coins on something cuz its gonna start expiring at the end of this month so my points will be decreased a bit each day... sooooo time to get the Zelda Picross game !!
@rjejr i got you covered my friend:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nxG9pG7Smk
I just want something other than discounts...
I guess I'll get the Fire Emblem discount, as I've actually never played that specific one before. (I've played Sacred Stones, Awakening, and Fates.)
I'm assuming I'll get gold coins from buying Spirit of Justice. Those aren't limited to Nintendo-published games, right?
@Manjushri more accurately, it is not the company helmed by Satoru Iwata, but by the reincarnation of Hiroshi Yamauchi.
I miss Club Nintendo.
Another nail in the coffin
I guess I will get the 15% off Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure because I've been waiting for that game to go on sale but it never gone has and I doubt it will any time soon.
I was pleasantly surprised with a birthday discount of 30%...which was only valid on 11 games I already own physically, and even some I had digitally as well. I'm certainly not paying $20 for Puzzle and Dragons either.
I redeemed a few gold on Wario Land 3, but I play Wario Land games for about 10 minutes and either get thwarted by difficulty, or the obtuse nature of the puzzles in the later games.
I piled on the platinum coins expecting another DS title or CN exclusive but I see now I should have just dumped them into WarioWare when I had the chance.
I really miss Club Nintendo. I only buy games digitally when they are not available on physical media. My Nintendo relies too much on digital downloads and (shudder) Miitomo.
Nearly all of the non discount rewards change on the first of next month. I will wait till then to judge them.
I love how the all the "rewards" require you to spend more money. It's a scam.
Just disgusting.
Is My Nintendo better than no loyalty program at all? Yes. But not by much.
Club Nintendo was probably the biggest reason why I've made over $2000 worth of eShop purchases since I got my Wii U and 3DS.
Nowadays I hardly ever even spend a dime.
The point system and rewards make no sense.......platinum points that are free give you 15% discount for a handful.....Ive got thousands. Gold points that require eShop purchases only get you 30% off SF643DS? 100 gold points should get you at least a $5 eshop credit as a base reward. Maybe $5 eshop credit for 15,000 platinum points
I bought Wario Ware for 1000 platinum.....and literally nothing else has been even slightly appealing.
Why are these discounts so few and so miniscule?!
You guys need some tissues or something. Last time I checked Nintendo is not forcing you to buy there stuff. I do not always like the stuff that their give away but its free. They do not have to give us anything.
Would be nice if Nintendo add some newer titles (late 2015 to 2016) to the list.
On one hand I can understand bringing older, likely forgotten games back to the spotlight for new consumers that missed out, but the very least they can change it up for the people who already bought those games at least a year and a half ago (in some case decades).
With that said, I'm not too sore about it. Reminds me a bit of club nintendo before the closing in the middle of it's life.
Ugh, just Ugh.
I don't understand, 600 plat coins for a 15% discount on a meh game?
@hendie001 people know, but considering other platforms on Xbox and Play Station has something better, and even the fact that club nintendo was better than this, it leaves much to be desired on this thing.
@liljmoore well said, nothing more to add!!!
When will you people understand this was likely just designed with the newer systems in mind especially if some rumors are to be believed the service probably wont mature full until NX releases. Also it seems you fail to realize alot of the purpose of My Nintendo is to help draw in new fans
@Wolfgabe Because new fans have some sort of inexplicable attraction to a messy, confusing, and not-particularly-rewarding reward system that old fans lack?
Not that the we necessarily 'deserve' more. The only real reward people 'deserve' for purchasing a video game is the video game itself. But as a business model designed to engage people and encourage them to purchase more games, it doesn't seem to be very effective.
Maybe it'll somehow come to full fruition when the NX releases and manage to fix all its flaws. But for the moment, people are judging it for what it is, not for what it might be on future console that nobody owns or even really knows anything about.
And currently it's a bit pants. For old fans and new fans alike. And for every system on which it's currently available.
Why be a Nintendo Fan when you can just hate life in general
I wish you could just convert gold points straight up for eshop credit.
@getyourak That would be too easy...
the only thing worth getting on mynintendo is the zelda picross... and maybe the themes.
@getyourak or just give each and every game and DLC in the Eshop a separate MyNintendo Coin currency system in place, i don't know.
really anything would be better than Nintendo of America's version of the MyNintendo service at this point with the severe lack of decent rewards worth getting. why not just add in some DSIware games or even any of the decent indie games that are available on the Eshop? it shouldn't just be Nintendo games only, just saying.
I'll get Yoshi's Story, I didn't know it was in the eShop!
Just write it off.
When I buy games on my PS4 and Vita, I NEVER think about how many points it's going to earn me or what I'm going to be able to get by saving up. Why? Because it takes freaking forever to save up enough points to get anything with their reward system.
I didn't even know Xbox had a reward system until recently, when @SirJBizzle told me, but even that I don't bother with or ever check my points because it's all digital only just to get a star ranking which nets you like 1-5% back depending how much you spend. It's ok, but I couldn't care less.
This is no different. I think it's time people just write this off and stop holding out hope for some great reward system to break through because the fact is it's a lost cause. Nintendo rewards are now just as lame is everyone else's.
So stop thinking about netting rewards and pretend that it doesn't even exist and you'll be a lot happier. Buy games like you do for every other console- without worrying about what rewards you can get.
My Nintendo is crap. That's all.
Utter crap. I was hoping this month would be better but here we are again, same crap. They should just shut it down. The system does not make sense. At the very least let me redeem the discounts as codes so I can't give them to someone else that may not have the game. If this is supposed to be my reward for buying games, then I rather not have anything because I won't be disappointed at something that is being offered that doesn't benefit me at all. It's like they are dancing a carrot in front of me that I don't even want in the first place.
I may finally get Mario Golf: World Tour.
If the rewards get an update each month it could be fine but this items last 4 months!!! that is sad.
I know it's hard to complain about free rewards, but Club Nintendo kicks the crap out of My Nintendo so far. The Platinum Coins have been mostly useless so far (I have well over 2,000 right now, and I even got the 1,000 coin Twilight Princess Picross game) and they don't swap out the free games often enough. I also really, really miss the physical rewards that Club Nintendo had. I got so much cool stuff when they did that.
My Nintendo is really stingy when compared to Club Nintendo. Lower-priced VC titles should still provide gold coins, and there should either be a better selection, or it should rotate more frequently. I got Picross and Warioware when it launched, and have hardly touched it since. I have a few of gold coins sitting around, but there are only 5 games to redeem, and I already own all them besides Donkey Kong 3, which isn't exactly exciting. They need more VC titles, not just mediocre discounts
@Wolfgabe
Maybe you are right. But for many of us, it is too little too late... again/finally. Some of us are not making the transition to whatever new gimmick full of new/same ol' promises that is coming along.
There are how many millions of Wii U owners (I don't really know, 15 million?)? Sure it is considered a "failure" but that is still a real big market with people that supported them (how would you like even just $1 from each of these people?) that have very little left to play on a console that never offered anywhere/anything near any other Nintendo home console generation in terms of numbers, quality, and types of games.
Getting the fans to support this account/"club loyalty program is something that should be easy, quality, and enticing for the most active fans. And you do realize they gain a lot from us all signing up right? They know what you own, what you buy on the eshop, or retail, what you play with how many players, and how when and many other stats.... and we opted-in to this to gain these silver and gold 'points', which to most of us (all?!!) it is pointless.
@msvt It likely will get better once NX comes around Nintendo at one point a while back ago mentioned they are working on adding physical content. Also I recall people saying Club Nintendo used to suck at first
They couldn't even give us the Samus 3DS theme?
@JaxonH Well the sony rewards site you also have to buy their stuff at stores to rack up big points like movies, TV's headsets speakers ect. Games usually only net you like 20-50 points which sucks if your only a PS gamer.
But the rewards are good to great with money for the PS store, full games, accessories ect.
MS rewards have like a mission structure like MyNintendo where you can score extra rewards credits like buying certain games digitally, referring friends for rewards, taking surveys or even playing games for reward credits.
That's what I expect out of a rewards catalog.
I just want Nintendo to do better with this site but its not like they're even trying and its making me upset
I already own them all.
@liljmoore I have never gotten a single reward from the Xbox program. The amount of money you have to spend DIGITALLY to get anything is just absurd.
It's kinda harsh that you have to spend a good chunck of cash, so you can get the chance to spend 70% of another good chunck of cash, for good, but also old games, that are totally overpriced as it is and most of us already own anyways. Nothing about this feels like a reward of any kind.
@liljmoore
I hear you. They definitely overestimate its appeal for sure.
But don't let it upset you. It's just rewards program after all.
I just came here to read the bitter people's posts haha. Id love to see you guys that tend to cry more aggressively have an actually talk with a Nintendo business man like you do on here. Id pay all my coins to see that. (of course im not talking about us posters that know how to express ourselves without looking like little brats)
As per usual, anything of interest I already own...
Really hoping this gets better with the NX release. It would be nice if you could just exchange coins for eShop credit, similar to the old Wii U launch program.
Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure is listed on My Nintendo as a Wii U game. Oops.
Horrible.
@crzysortagamer I would happily donate all my coins to you, Professor well-mannered - if there would be a donate button. Perhaps people who have such an eloquent manner like yourself could convince Nintendo to integrate one so all the "crying" people, as you call them, could start using them by "sharing the joy" ... after all, sharing is caring, right? I care so much, I want to donate all of them to a good cause, for all the world to enjoy the rewards.
@hendie001 True that. Some folks just want a reason to complain anyway. Tomorrow morning, they could throw the 3 Pokemon Gen 1 games or Shantae Pirates Curse on MyNintendo for free for 40 gold coins. People would download them right away then say "Now what?!" and spend the next couple months saying there is nothing on MyNintendo and that the rewards suck. I'd like new freebies on there too but what options do they have for free games?
I wish the WarioWare game was still available. Made the mistake of prioritizing the Zelda Picross (still available, and I have over 1,000 platinum coins at the moment so I could've still gotten that as well) so it seems I missed out.
If they don't want to give out games for platinum points, I wish they'd at least make more 3DS themes available. It's not like a few stock images with a short music loop of already existing music they own thrown over it really costs them anything.
I also wish accumulating gold coins worked more like the Wii U's digital deluxe promotion, where it just keeps track of money spent until landmarks are met. A lot of games and DLC items I've bought fell below the $5 mark (many being $4.99 before tax).
Nintendo is in a no-win situation with free games/rewards. If they put popular VC games on MyNintendo, people will complain that they are just posting stuff everyone already has. Post unpopular VC games that many people haven't tried then the complaint will be they are only giving away crappy games that nobody wants. Throw DSiware on there and people will gripe that the games are obsolete. Throw newly released games on there that are still on the sales charts in some regions and you are eating your profits alive. Bear in mind that no respectable third-party is going to give away their games for free on MyNintendo and again the question is what would you have Nintendo do?
@Wolfgabe
Still inexcusable for a company with billions in the bank, but is also tanking in sales and losing longtime customers (like myself) by the day.
Plus, DeNA was brought on for this new loyalty program so creating a reasonable points vs reward system is no stress to them -weekly sales often beat these rewards, for example.
i couldn't care less if it gets better for the next console which none of us have bought yet when mega-millions already own and try to support current systems, one of which was left for dead too soon upon arrival.
Considering they removed Ocarina of Time, Fire Emblem Awakening and Kid Icarus Uprising, this is a pretty crappy set of discounts.
@AcclaimDev
I think most people would be happy with something similar to the Wii U digital deluxe program, where it rewards buying from their digital store with store credit to put towards additional purchases. If they want to keep the "coin" aspect, they could set up a system where if you save up coins for longer, you can redeem bigger credit for less coins than if you'd used them in smaller amounts. A countless number of store loyalty programs and credit card distributors already do this. It keeps consumers happy because then they can use their rewards on anything they want, and it keeps businesses happy because people will spend more to aim for the higher tiers of credit rewards. No guesswork of suitable reward items or games, no need for monthly updates and rotating rewards, etc.
@TrixieSparkle Similar then to Gamestop's rewards system, at least in the US, where you can redeem for certificates that can be used on anything? Seems sensible.
You wanna know one little thing that'd make this better? Add a 0 to at least some of the plat discounts and make it the full game. So coins aren't useless.
Ugh. These are garbage. I miss the club Nintendo rewards.
Edit: To clarify, I mean that the 'rewards' all being little specific discounts are garbage, not necessarily the games themselves.
@ElkinFencer10 Yeah, there's nothing called games with gold for xbox where you get 4 free games a month and there's nothing called xbox rewards where you get money to spend on games when you buy games...
In regards to the complaining, I find Yoshi's Story & Star Fox 64 3D tempting. (At this rate we in the USA are never ganna get it as a "Nintendo Selects" game.)
Also, you guys forget there are some full game rewards if you look at the webpage.
@MarinaKat I'll take 'em if you don't want 'em.
Sure just send 'em to my email [email protected]
WHY NINTENDO?! I have no money and I already own most of the discounted games. At least with Club Nintendo you could download full games with your coins.
@MarinaKat Sorry forgot to tag you, just email me 'em.
@MarinaKat you can't see [email protected] ? (If it's blank, that means you can't see the email address I typed out.
MyNintendo sucks big big big time. Im stuck whit golden coins, and by the october 1st they haven replaced with new awards the old ones, they just taked out the old ones! And worst: the few awards they put, are the same they were 3 months ago! Are you Nibelsnarfing kidding me? I didnt want them then and you are offering me them AGAIN? WTF!
