Re: UK Charts: Kirby Air Riders Narrowly Misses Out On A Top Ten Spot

Ashunera84

Spent like 5 hours playing with family the other night and had an absolute blast. Top tier party game, mountains of content, loads of variety, simple to play but with a massive skill cap, with visuals and performance of the highest order. Few games are crafted with such care and attention to detail and polished to such a shine.

Re: "If You're A Real Fan, You'll Find A Way" - Borderlands 4 Dev Gives Tone Deaf Response To Price Concerns

Game prices are going up. Just like everything else. There's a point where revenue can no longer grow to cover development costs by increasing audience - we've been past that point for a few years.
There comes a time when rising costs need to be dealt with in different ways. Price goes up (directly or indirectly) or quality goes down. That's where the industry is at.

Re: How Would You Rate The Pokémon Presents Showcase For February 2025?

Ashunera84

My guess is Champions will be like a battle-based companion app to the main line games that handles rule sets, balance tweaks etc. and the battles themselves with access to the full national dex, while the main line games keep their trimmed local dex.

This is how I've wanted to see it done ever since they announced the main line won't have the complete dex anymore.

Re: Tencent Labeled A "Chinese Military Company" By US Government

Ashunera84

@RunninBlue I don't think I said that anywhere.

Businesses in China are far more heavily controlled than most of the english-speaking world. China blocks a great deal of information entering and leaving the country, and prevents countless businesses from working there for many arbitrary reasons or for their propaganda.

Engaging in spying on other nations doesn't mean you shouldn't protect yourself from spying.

Re: Tencent Labeled A "Chinese Military Company" By US Government

@RunninBlue it's the degree of control their government has over those companies and the type of business they do. A beverage company for example wouldn't have any way of gathering insane amounts of personal data like tech companies do and therefore wouldn't be labeled like this.

Tech companies are, by virtue of how one does business in China, government espionage tools almost by default.

Re: Palworld Developer Responds To Nintendo Lawsuit

Ashunera84

It's easy to hate on Nintendo or TPC for this, but Palworld's developers have made a habit of copying other works a little too closely.

Maybe you dislike TPC... but what if their next game rips off Team Cherry, an ACTUAL small indie dev team? Oh, right, they are doing EXACTLY that.

IP protection needs to be strong in the creative space.
