It looks like it plays like overcooked with dark humor. I'm all in, especially for that price. Hopefully the locations don't get stale as fast as I'm thinking they will.
I would buy the bundle if it came out in the US and came out the same day as the regular release, discounted joycon would be nice since the neon red ones I got last year are now having joystick issues. Interestingly the original gray ones that came with my switch aren't giving me any issues aside from the connectivity issues the left joycon had before I sent it back to get repaired for free. One of the unfortunate things of owning a switch is these flaky joycon.. Even if it was coming here in December I don't think I'd want to wait.
Never finished VC on PS3 but I absolutely adored the game. Was very tempted to buy it on PS4 awhile back, but a Switch port is an absolute must have. Shame it's not physical, but I suppose I'd rather have $20 digital than $30-$40 physical for the original. Definitely getting VC4 (at some point) physical, so I guess saving $5 is not in my future.
It looks admittedly interesting but also just from the gameplay it looks like it could be overly complicated. It's one of those games I need to get my actual hands on first before deciding if it would be worth my coin.
Oh my gosh this scared me. I thought it was Stuart Zagnit who passed away, but even so just because Stu was my Professor Oak, Ishizuka-san was Japan's Professor Oak. R.I.P good sir.
@RadioHedgeFund I like your steed idea, and would like to add a Pokemon you can assign to 'fly' on which could also allow you to ride in a car or train and still get stuff like 'adjusted' progress on partner candy and hatching eggs. Like travelling 5km at vehicle speeds amounts to 1km walking distance when the app is open instead of shutting it off any time you go over 10km/h or so.
This looks like so much fun! I actually don't like bees, or anything that flies around my face with a pointy butt, but I do like the ability to fly around with 6 degrees of freedom and BLAST SOME WASPS WITH A LASER GUN!
This is the sequel to "Right about now it's time to rock with the Bibbity-'Buck Bumble'" right?
It looks really good, I have always liked the style they use for Persona Q but I am not at all a fan of the EO gameplay. Hope a regular Persona game makes it over to Nintendo at some point.
I would pay a comical amount of cash for a Star Fox themed Switch. Glacial white and ice blue color scheme akin to an Arwing with the red weathered star fox logo emblazoned on the back on top of a lylat galaxy of stars in the background. I can dream
This seems pretty interesting and brings to mind the Zero Escape games and the Wonder Project J games from SFC and N64. I'm not so sure how I feel about the 'real time' feature though, I dislike timers in the best of times, being the main reason I refuse to play Majora's Mask, but also knowing that while I'm at work or playing Mario Kart Quinn is sitting there waiting for me to come back and help him could drive me insane.
I like passive games like this where you give input and watch what happens, sort of reminiscent of Sims. Color me intrigued.
Seriously though, I was interested in the game at E3 2017 but it was literally 'this is as close to Star Fox as I will likely get this generation.' so I was super excited to see Fox in the trailer, cemented day 1 for me.
On the one hand, I really need the portability of Switch if I'm ever planning to actually finish this game.
On the other hand, if I wait then I feel like I'm letting down my favorite JRPG by not showing support in the first year of release and I don't want to live in a world where Squenix thinks the west doesn't want DQ games anymore... Again..
So the pokeball controller has to be a fully functioning joycon right? They said you could play the whole game with just the pokeball. Anyone gonna try and beat Dark Souls with it?
Tepidly looking forward to trying this one out, it looks amazing but if it controls half as bad as Rollcage did, constantly getting stuck/thrown backwards and pin-balling off of every surface imaginable, I'll have to give it a hard pass. If I find out it has a 'self centering' button to keep you on the track every 5 seconds... If your game needs a button reserved for straightening out your car, you failed as a racing game designer.
@Pokefanmum82 Of course you never needed a subscription to trade mon's before, this is the first time Nintendo implemented a paid subscription service for the online features. That is like saying you've never paid to play Mario Kart, SSB or Splatoon online before. It's a new thing that we've known about for over a year at this point.
I was really looking forward to playing old Mario Kart, SSB and Mario Party games when I take my Switch to meetups. It would be SOOO convenient to have 4 player retro cups right there on the floor. Certainly not mad, but I am disappointed. Yeah, eventually we will get Mario Party 11, SSB is on the horizon and MK8D is great, but it would have been awesome to have Mario Party 2, Mario Kart 64 and SSBMelee in my bag at all times.
It really is a missed opportunity to me. Even if the argument is "You can get a mini console for that", there are several problems with this. It's not an all-in-one portable solution - you still need a television, the only way to get the games you really want is to mod it, There is no N64/GB/GBC/GBA/GC mini console, and the darn things are STILL impossible to find in the store. I'd rather buy them legally than mod them up, but Nintendo gives me no real choice. VC makes so much sense on Switch. It made good sense on Wii 10 years ago too, but it seemed kinda pointless on Wii U, so it's just baffling that they don't want my money.
Huh, I thought they had nipped this problem. I had a launch console and started noticing the dreaded JoyCon L issues after putting it through the paces in Mario Kart Deluxe. I sent it in and got it fixed, and the second set of neon red JoyCons I picked up last May never gave me any issues at all.
As long as 3DS provides something that the Switch doesn't (namely the 2 screens) I will continue to support the console along with my Switch. Heck I've been waiting almost 20 years for the next Game Boy game to be released, but sooner or later I'll be happy I kept it.
He has a right to be proud of this game. I am a huge fan of beat-em-ups but for some reason I hadn't gotten any for my switch, aside from Phantom Breaker Battle Grounds which was vastly disappointing to me. Raging Justice was on my radar, but that still has some time before I can play it. I even skipped the Neo Geo games because i'm not a huge fan of the style, except for Metal Slug of course but I already have the anthology on Wii.
Streets of Red was an easy sell especially for the price. I haven't had much time to play it, but the short time I did spend with it oozed with polish and deliberate satisfaction with every combo and plenty of things to make it stand out from the greats in the genre.
Virtual On please! I've also always wanted to play the Saturn Panzer Dragoon games (I've only played Orta on Xbox) and Burning Rangers. Saturn was one of the few consoles I never had and those always piqued my interest. ToeJam and Earl would be an instant buy for me as well, it is perfect for the Switch.
Laylee's Bad Fang Day... Seriously though, Yooka Laylee was okay, but I felt like the physics were wrong. It never felt polished to me, but I suppose that was to be expected for a first game... From industry veterans.. Who fairly enough were on a tight budget. I have high hopes for the company moving forward, maybe with a bit more tweaking they can spit and polish their games a bit more going forward, and with good old Phil Spencer having a fairly loose grip on Microsoft's IP, Playtonic can literally be Rareware again and bring Banjo Kazooie and Conker back to form.
Or hey, Nintendo, let them make that successor to Diddy Kong Racing. Doesn't seem like Sonic will be making another interesting multi-vehicle racing game any time soon.
It will come to Switch as soon as they figure out how to compress both games as extras to Shenmue 3 on 1 physical cart. My uncle's proctologist's neice works at Nintendo and she told me.
I can certainly wait for the Switch version, but now I'm worried about it taking so much longer to develop. I figured it would be a port job like everything else on multiple platforms, but if they have to change it this much to make it work, it could either be very good or very bad.
@gutsack the one right above mine is pretty ignorant. People are allowed to not like stuff, and he even said "I'm not against anyone enjoying Suda games. People can disagree with me. Just not my style."
I'm absolutely smitten by Detective Pikachu, but even I admit I really wish it was a Switch game. It suffers from some slowdown and the graphics, while very impressive for 3DS, are jaggy as ever. I actually would not be surprised if within a year they port it over to Switch with added cases, clean graphics and a performance bump.
Even the touchscreen controls for the case files aren't that responsive and I find it a bit easier to just use the buttons, which also isn't perfect but it beats kicking out the stylus from the bottom of my N3DS every time. I can attest though that my other game I wanted this month, A Way Out, is doing very well, being unable to find a PS4 copy around my local stores.
I was thinking of getting one of these, but I detracted when I found out it's one per controller and it's more of a toy for me, anyway. However make one of these that lets me use anything besides an official PS3 controller on my old PS3 and I'll buy 4.
Hope it has local multiplayer. I'm getting tired of seeing racing games (mostly on PS4 and Xbox One to be fair) that are online only if you want to race your friends. That will be THE selling point for me right now, because as much as I love Mario Kart, I need something different now that I can play with my friends. I recall back in the day Rollcage had a pretty fun demo, maybe I'll snuff out a copy and check it out before this drops, it's been about 20 years.
The Switch itself is fine, could use a slight internal redesign to help with that little 'warping' problem some people seem to have, but my biggest issue is with the Joycon. Revise the tiny thumbsticks a little bit and change out that little plastic clip that clicks into the console with a metal one, and I'm golden.
