I was a huge fan of NASCAR Rumble back on the PS1 so NASCAR and Arcade Racer get me excited. Hopefully since it is celebrating 75 years I will be able to play as some of my favorite drivers from when I was deeply invested in the 90's like Terry Labonte. Pretty sure Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty are guaranteed to have a presence. Now to find out if this is a straight "Daytona USA" arcade racer or if it has power-ups like in Rumble.
Yay! I've played both of these on PS3 and PS4 and I liked them more than most of the games in the series, especially after the first 3 on the PlayStation. I will gladly double dip to play these beauties again, but I still wish we had gotten a third title to round out a trilogy.
Sumo is a great racing dev, and I like the idea of 60 player races in quick chaotic rounds, so this is actually very interesting to me. Hopefully they do as they promise and release it f2p off the bat and not another "Speedstorm" or "Dreamlight" situation where they promise a f2p game and immediately make it 30 bucks to play it. I'm getting tired of being lied to about these games.
I've been keeping my ear to the ground on this, and get disappointed every week I slum by Wal Mart on my grocery run just to see that it isn't out yet. However I went to see Spiderverse last night, and they still had a few showings that day for Mario so...
I suppose as long as they are still getting theatrical income, why rush the physical release right?
I really liked the Lara Croft games on PS3 and PS4, I'd be happy to add them to my switch. Awesome local multiplayer action puzzle games. I'm honestly surprised how angry the comments section is here, expecting a "Tomb Raider" collection instead of "Lara Croft" collection. Yeah, the games in this duology aren't called Tomb Raider. Physical for under 40$ and I'm sold.
"It is suggested that development on both of these games has stalled thanks to another large project sucking up the studio's resources: a long-rumoured Skywalker Saga-style treatment for the Lego Harry Potter series."
I hate that E3 is dead. I looked forward to it every year like most people look forward to the Super Bowl. I took vacation time from work to park myself in front of my TV and catch all of the big shows live. The Game Awards is the closest thing I have now to a big meaty gaming show with fresh reveals and surprises aside from the random and often sudden drops of a Nintendo Direct. I will always remember E3.
I'm combing these comments looking for the guy who stole my NES Edition in High School from my gym locker along with my copy of Super Mario Advance 2. The one I have now was given to me by my roommate because it didn't turn on. The battery was round and the charger cable didn't work. Bought a new battery and found the old charger for my NES edition, and now I have a perfectly working slightly scuffed silver GBA SP. I still want my NES Edition back..
I'd been wanting to try this series for years and when I saw it in the direct, I thought "I'll keep an eye on that." Come to find it for 99 cents on the eShop and I assumed it was a mistake! Of course I snapped it up right away. It's great for me as I don't know the first thing about how to play video game baseball, but it had a great tutorial and the difficulty can be as simple as just pressing the button at the right time to bat, and the CPU does the rest.
It is quite daunting once you dig deeper though, as there are TONS of different characters, all with their own specific builds, and as I know none of these characters at all building my team has been little more than balancing the base talents and how cute they look. It is admittedly basic in this regard as you have to practically build every team even to play against the computer. Knowing very little about baseball aside from being a passive watcher of a few games every year 99 cents was an easy price for quick dips into the side of baseball video games.
I really enjoyed the fan translation of The Frog For Whom The Bell Tolls. Shame that it is unlikely we will be seeing it in the US or EU eShop but stranger things have happened. Drop it simultaneously with an English translation of Mother 3 and hell will freeze over. Anyway, totally worth a look for those willing to find it.
As someone who has replaced several joycon joysticks (and accidentally destroyed one due to a severed cable) over the past 5 years, the promise of a real fix is good news. A bit pricey, but if they work I would be willing to one-and-done the ones I still have lying around, especially if they have a discount for buying more than one or two at a time. Right now just about all of my current joycon have the cardboard hack which has, for the past year or so anyway, relieved any drifting from the OEM sticks. I did have a pair of original gray joycons that had such bad drift that even the cardboard trick did nothing and I was tired of ordering aftermarket sticks that broke down even faster than the official ones.
I'm sorry for being the broken record here, but I am not touching either of these unless they get a physical release. I already own them both on Vita and P5R was a Switch day-one steelbook buy from me. They could literally put a $20 switch tax and sell them both together physically for $60 and I'd rather buy that than $20 for each. I just don't see a reason to double dip for digital copies with nothing to add, rather for collectors and future preservation purposes.
Completely hyped for this one if I'm being honest. I really want the steel book, but I couldn't care less about the rest of the stuff that comes with the Limited Edition, so likely Standard day one. Good to know I can pre-order it now.
Not sure if it is funny or concerning how out of touch the entire cast seems to be with video game culture. Mario Kart world? Chris Pratt and Seth Rogen both played SMB in an arcade when it was 99% more feasible to play it on an NES? what is a "hardcore adult arcade individual?" I feel like the cast of Wreck it Ralph knew more about video games and they called an arcade cabinet a "game console".
Another quick tip to go with making sandwiches in picnics is if you give your Pokemon a bath by looking at them and pressing X will not only level up their friendliness a little bit but also heals them completely and gives them a tiny boost in experience (about 30XP). It doesn't replenish PP for moves but it has come in handy for training my weaker mons' without using up all of my potions and you can do it several times to quickly level up their friendliness.
@Tukan The description does say 4 players with 16 online, but the review doesn't elaborate if that is local wireless, local split-screen, or what any of the multiplayer modes are. Honestly, this is what is keeping me from picking this up as well, as what I really want is a local multiplayer shooter with a decent Horde mode similar to Unreal Tournament 2004 (Invasion) or Killing Floor 2. Quake came close with its version of Horde, but it is severely lacking compared to the examples I listed.
As good as Super Mario Odyssey is (and it was extremely good) I don't want a sequel to Odyssey. As good as it was, once I finished it I never came back to it the same way I did with 64 and Galaxy. Something is just not 100% Mario and the initial "wow" factor wore off for me after the first viewing. Either way, I'll be there for it, but I hope the next 3D Mario is something maybe along the lines of a fully fleshed-out Bowser's Fury which, while short, I have revisited numerous times.
@RamenNumerals I imagine the demo will drop when the game comes out, I just checked and mine hasn't given a download for the demo yet. I am certainly curious about this one, never heard of it before but I like a good arcade fishing game and this one seemed packed for $40.
By the time I'm finished with P5R these will be bundled together in a physical release (probably limited games but w/e I'll take it) or have a decent sale where I can get both for around 20$. P4G on Vita was my favorite 'handheld' RPG, but only because P3P was so damn limited being on PSP. Still kinda upset that they went with P3P instead of P3FES.
Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I feel like GRIP did it better. Also, no matter how many times they reiterate "RTS Racing", nothing in the trailer or description makes that statement make any sense. Guess we shall see when the reviews come out if this is worth a shot or not.
All of the best TMNT games (sans Shredders Revenge ofc) are already part of the first collection. There might be a couple decent GBA/DS games from that era, but nothing that hit as hard as what we just got. If anything, if Konami is going to hit the ground running and commit to pay licenses to get the ball rolling on a killer collection, they need to do their version of the Capcom Beat-Em-Up collection. I can only think of X-Men, Simpsons and Asterix off the top of my head, but they spit fire in the early-to-mid 90's for awesome multiplayer brawlers. Maybe a few run&guns like Sunset Riders and Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo-Mesa. Nobody talks about that last one, but we had a local cabinet as a kid and it was amazing. While we're at it, ask Capcom to port the arcade versions of AVP and Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, too.
Wow, a lot of anger brewing down here. If anything, Dad should be happy his kiddo did this to his Wii U. If it were me, I'd have disassembled it myself and discovered that clog of dirt inside and cleaned it, much like the repair tech did for this dad and his son. He didn't even break anything, so really this was a blessing in disguise for that poor Wii U.
Love the first, so I have high hopes for this. The Outrun-style alternate routes has my interest piqued, that might have been in the first one but I only recall circuits. It also makes me really mad that Outrun 2 SP/ Coast 2 Coast hasn't had a modern port because it is literally the best game in this style and everyone is sleeping on it.
A little peeved that they would lock that regal fox behind a $70 paywall for a f2p game. Guess I should have expected this kind of thing from a monopoly like Disney.
I love golf games, but I never understood the appeal to side-view versions. This one, however, has my attention, the pixel art is gorgeous and appealingly smooth and I've always had a soft spot for rogue-likes. Still waiting for a modern take on Ninja Golf though, I love the idea of having a beat-em-up between strokes and as I said before, something not like a 2D platformer.
For one thing, I do have a strong feeling that the Nintendo Switch announcement will be made during the summer direct. Xbox doesn't make a habit of stepping on Nintendo's toes when they want a "surprise reveal". It's maddening, but Nintendo is extremely controlling with their content. For another thing, I'm puzzled that Xbox is getting Persona 3 Portable instead of FES, which would be in-line with Golden and Royal for 4 and 5 respectively. I want to know whose brilliant idea it was to port a PSP game to consoles instead of an HD PS2 game.
Looks good! It's a little dark imo, but I'm sure impressed by the witchcraft involved in making this game run and look so good on Switch. I'll have to buy a third copy I guess!
Doesn't look horrible, but someone really needs to fwd the dev team a copy of Sonic Robo Blast 2 for notes on how to do a "good" 3D open world Sonic game. I am remaining interested in the meantime.
I've had countless crashes, context items not loading in requiring a level restart, softlocking in space when no markers appear, an FPS issue that only appears on one planet during one side mission and it tanked below 1fps, but with all of that said I still absolutely love this game. Hopefully we will see fixes sooner rather than later, but I have 'hope' that TT Games will eventually polish it up to be as good as it deserves to be.
For the record I've been 'done' with the game for weeks, but I've had so much fun just trying to 100% the side content. There is A LOT.
I'm hype for this one, but to be honest I'm even more hype for Front Mission 2 since it never left Japan and translations are kind of jacked. FM1 on DS was great though, and hopefully one day we can also get an english version of 5.
I noticed this on the patch notes the other day, they even fixed the character chatter so they actually have one-liners during the game now. I love when they put stuff like this in SP games, makes replayability go through the roof after finishing the game. Wish more games still had stuff like this you could play around with.
@Dringo Sea of Thieves had so much potential. It's super fun when things are going well, sailing the seas while playing music with your buddies, shooting your dog from the cannons, killing skeleton pirates on land and sea, having an ex eagle scout crew member as the only person in your crew who can find buried treasure, and then suddenly a galleon of spawn killing griefers chase you down and proceed to kill you and your crew over and over whether you have stuff to steal on board or not and there's always one guy in your group who can't figure out how to scuttle the ship for a reset. If GTA Online can have private crew lobbies, Sea of Thieves can too. The toxic griefer mentality of most players is the reason I quit playing. Even when you play by the meta of being a passive player, such as raising your cannons, playing an instrument as they approach and offering any treasure you have on-board as goodwill, too many players find too much fun in ruining your experience.
I look forward to E3. I take time off of work to binge watch the entire conference every year. Basically E3 and the Game Awards are the big shows of the year for me, with the occasional Nintendo Direct in-between at irregular intervals and with less than 48 hours of notice. I really hope we don't skip E3 again this year. I actually prefer the digital E3 because the show is more focused and not diluted with so many cringe stage skits with more focus on the actual games.
@OorWullie Are you talking about where you have to put on the Sith armor to get to the lower city on Taris? Yeah a cutscene should happen of the two rival gangs fighting, but after that you would still have to fight the three gang members. You should be able to fight them even with the sith armor on.

Re: E3 2022 In Doubt As Journalist Claims Digital Event Is "Probably" Also Cancelled
Normal people look forward to the Super Bowl.
Re: Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic Getting Patch To Fix That Giant Bloody Text Box
@OorWullie Are you talking about where you have to put on the Sith armor to get to the lower city on Taris? Yeah a cutscene should happen of the two rival gangs fighting, but after that you would still have to fight the three gang members. You should be able to fight them even with the sith armor on.
