Miitopia was amazing on 3DS! That's why I was disappointed that this was a port and not a sequel. Sorry, no double dipping just for a horse and some wigs. Hit me up with Miitopia 2 tho Ninty.
If I hadn't already played this so much on PC and PS4, I'd be very excited. TftB was one of the better Telltale titles, right up with Wolf Among Us and Walking Dead S1 and 2.
This was legit the only 'realistic' thing I wanted to see in the Direct, so I am very happy. Kinda sad when I have to dial back my expectations to the point where Mario Golf is all I hope for these days, at least until Nintendo starts dropping some of the things their fanbase has been craving for decades. We probably won't be getting a new Star Fox (or Strikers and F-Zero for that matter) ever again so I keep my expectations lower than the Wii U sales figures.
I would prefer if E3 was all digital anyway. The fluff they always threw out before the big shows to appease the ones in attendance was never interesting to watch on stream. I look forward to E3 every year, take time off work and stream all three days so if going digital means more focus on the meat and less fluffing of the potatoes, I am very happy.
@NullPointerExcep I second Vigilante 8/2nd Offense remaster. So long as they treat it with the care of current remasters and not the half-baked V8 Arcade from the 360 era.
I hope this is good. My favorite games as a kid were Twisted Metal 2, Rogue Trip and Vigilante 8 and I have been feeling the loss of the genre for about a decade. Seems like a hard nut to crack though, as many car combat titles exist but we only ever seem to talk about Twisted and Vigilante. Interstate '76 if you prefer PC.
Price will be an important factor of whether I pick this up or not, and the wording of 'season update' has me both concerned and curious. Lack of additional maps is also concerning.
@LUIGITORNADO You're right, it doesn't have ME3 multiplayer. that's why LE is the superior version. No more lame tacked on mode in order to get the proper ending.
Well that was the last chance for any kind of Star Fox adaptation since it would have been developed during the hype for Zero. I don't see the franchise coming back after that backlash though. Would have loved a series in the style of that 15 minute animation they showed at E3.
Got 15/20, a little disappointed but I did learn some things I have never seen before, like the famicom 3d glasses and the bead clip on the PAL N64 controller cord. DPAD one got me too because I forgot my chronology for a bit and also thought the Wii U dpad was for the Wii. DeRp.
This looks really fun! I always liked playing digital board games, but other than Mario Party we really don't get much outside of the usual Monopoly versions, which honestly I have never enjoyed enough to finish a single round, and the occasional tabletop conversion like Catan which I still can't figure out how to play. Fortune Street and Dokapon Kingdom are the only standout exceptions in the West as far as I know, and they didn't seem to do too well unfortunately. Now would be the best time to introduce the west to the series, though. Who knows, it could be the next Fire Emblem success story.
I find it kind of hard to believe though that Naka-san had NEVER heard this trivia over the past 30 years as closely as he is associated with Sonic. Even if the trivia is false, which it appears to be a long-held legend turned into a typical 90's translation guff. Surely if it is fairly common knowledge among the fanbase he had to have heard about it at some point.
Oh man, this must be the Mandela Effect from 2012 colliding with a thin layer of the multiverse plane in an effort to end 2020 properly and set us back on the right timeline.
I would love to play localized versions of the Hebereke games. I've only ever played a fan translation of the original Famicom game and I thought it was pretty fun. Between that and Mother 3 it strikes me quite strange the games that Japan thinks we don't care about.
Edit: I lied, it wasn't a fan translation, it was Ufouria: The Saga for PAL. Still, Sugoi Hebereke is probably the best of the series on the SFC just as a unique multiplayer game.
Well you sold me on it anyway. It is cheaper than the Brunswick game that's been mentioned a few times, and based on the side by side it looks to be the better game too. I have been craving a good modern Billiards game lately after diving back into my childhood favorites on the Genesis, Championship Pool and Side Pocket. Just sad that I have to wait a bit before I can really dig in, hopefully the 'local' multiplayer means hot seat and not multiple switches.
oof, my wallet is really starting to hurt this year. Hopefully the local multiplayer means same console split screen and not local wireless but either way I am pretty sure I'll be triple dipping on this set to go along with my steam and 360 copy that doesn't have local mp.
Oh wow! Mario's Super Picross was an awesome gem for the SFC! Honestly one of the few Japan-only games I modded to my SNES Classic. Would be my favorite addition to the service if Star Fox 2 wasn't on there tbh.
Well, if not Zero, Star Fox 2 had positive reception when it finally released on the classic mini and the Switch Online service. Aside from some broken systems like the infinite boost bug, that non-linear gameplay style with some on-rails missions sprinkled on some of the planets would be a welcome change to the formula. Honestly though I would be very surprised (and would squee with excitement) if we got a new Star Fox game at all after Zero, since I recall THAT game was basically the 'if this fails, the series is done' game.
No E3 this year left a pretty gaping hole in me. I look forward to the show every year and I stream as much as I can when we are in the thick of it. It's probably my favorite 'holiday'
Man, games like this are the reason I wish the Switch had download play. I know it says local multiplayer, but asymmetrical local play would require at least 1 extra switch for local wireless. Having a friend with their own copy will be a tall order.
Nice!!! I was wondering when Duke 3D was getting a Switch port, and not only is it the version I wanted, it was half the price I was expecting it to be, AND I can buy it for HALF THAT PRICE right now! I might just buy 4 copies. Best news I've read all month.
@Teksetter Glad to see I wasn't the only one who loved Rogue Aces. If this plays as good as that, I am in. I'll have to look around for some gameplay footage first.
Another Demolition Derby game. What happened to the glory days of arena shooters with cars? Cel Damage is literally the only game in town and compared to the kings Twisted Metal and Vigilante 8, it's mild at best and it's been needlessly re-released twice. I do like the voxel 'damage' system in this game, but I just want to fire napalm at my friends from a school bus again.
I have been looking forward to Chronic Blunt Punch, but this will fill the void in the meantime. I've been a fan of Kevin Smith since the early 2000's and I have listened to his podcasts for nearly 10 years straight. Really happy to see it seems to take place in the Mallrats continuity, Truth or Date gives that away. I'll be buying this day one.
THink I'd rather play Horizon Chase Turbo, but this is half the price and has a DeLorean, so it's a sale for me. Can never really have too many Top Gear/Out Run games.
Same old Sega. "We will only release interesting rare games that most of you have likely never played before, but only if you support the same games we have re-released a thousand times already." Sega has several games and IP's that have never been re-released but hey! We get Sonic 2 again. How about Outrun 2 (Coast to Coast)? Sega Rally? Daytona? Heck, Virtua Fighter/MegaMix, Dynamite Cop, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Knuckles Chaotix, Burning Rangers, heck, SEAMAN! Even Sonic CD hasn't been released that much. Sonic 3/Knuckles is always missing from collections. It's just bonkers.
I sure hope so, it's one of a very small pool of games I have been excited for since they haven't announced a Persona 3 FES - 4 Golden - 5 collection for switch yet...
Very exciting if true. I'm sure most of us will look back on this news in a few years and either laugh at how FAKE everything turned out to be, or be humbled that we were there together when something like this was still coming together.
Hopefully if this all turns out to be true, we can get the Zelda treatment next year. I'd love to replay Windwaker again, and they could easily make remaster collections. If they did Zelda1/2 OoT/MasterQuest and MM on a single GameCube disk, we can at LEAST add LttP to that collection for a phase 1.
I'm very surprised that Nintendo didn't use this opportunity to re-release the amiibo cards for New Horizons. (or if they did, they have been very quiet about it) Lucky for me I bought up all the ones I wanted before the game was even announced from eBay before the prices spiked after the announcement, but I'd still buy a handful of booster packs to 'broaden my horizons' if I saw a box.
It should be noted that the holes you dig will not be there after you leave the game. All holes will be filled automatically once you start the game back up.
Also, if you destroy a rock, it will spawn the following day, but only one rock will spawn each day and it spawns in a random location.
So the best way to minimize losing precious resources when you need to move a rock for your own design purposes, only destroy one rock per day.
I have an unusual situation I have yet to test but I have a feeling it doesn't work. I have a friend with their own copy and 3 local players and I want to visit them from my own switch in local wireless play. Guessing this is a no-go?
Lucky.. I wish my gamestop would just break the street date too, I have been having panic attacks since yesterday that the store I pre-ordered at will be shut down by Friday and I won't be able to play until they re-open. I would just cancel and get it digital, but I value my limited storage space too much and would much rather have it physical.
I actually got this on PS4 when it launched, and I thought it was pretty good for a console specific truck sim. ETS2 and even ATS are better games, but since they aren't going to be coming to Switch (anytime soon) this will easily be the best choice for the platform. I will probably double dip, glad to know this is coming so I can remove that awful mobile port off my wishlist.
I bet Atlus would love to get another bite at the apple for Persona 4: Golden. Since it was a Vita exclusive it suffered as a result. Not horribly, mind you, it was one of, if not THE MOST, successful game on Vita, but not many people had one. I'd be very happy with a Switch port, and hopefully we could also see Persona 3 (portable probably, not likely FES) and P5.

Maybe Platinum is going to do a complete 180 of their usual crazy action style and try their hand at a more subdued genre making a remastered port of Eternal Darkness. That, or a polished port of Star Fox Zero. The more I make outlandish theories the more likely one of them can come true.
@AnnoyingFrenzy You are forgetting the third Cruis'n game on N64, Exotica. USA, World and Exotica were also in Arcades. Velocity was GBA exclusive, Cruis'n was a subpar Wii title, and Blast is arcade only, made by Raw Thrills who also made the awesome Hydro Thunder inspired H2Overdrive in arcades.
Remember that 15 minute animated short Nintendo made for Zero back when that was coming out? That was begging for adaptation to a film or TV series. A Fox in Space (as mentioned a few times here already) was also a very good stab at the IP, but considering the strictly indie team working on that I will be dead before we get another episode.
Surprised at the amount of people bashing this for having 'no exclusives'. It's a windows 10 tablet, you basically have access to all of Steam right there.
Mario 3D World is a given, I'm almost positive we will see a port on Switch sooner rather than later. That being said, it was a tough choice for me between Windwaker and Star Fox Zero. Windwaker is my favorite Zelda game and having the open sea on a handheld is an exciting prospect, but as you can probably tell I am a die hard Star Fox fan and Zero deserves another shot with a cleaned up control scheme and some added content. With all the hype surrounding its release, I feel the hampered controls are what really caused it to crash and burn.
Sadly, as Star Fox is rarely ever profitable for Nintendo, I really don't see this happening - as excited as it would make me. Maybe now that they got Star Fox 2 out in the public on both the SNES Classic and Switch Online, they can lean a bit more on an original non-linear traditional Star Fox game. Starlink comes close, but it needs more.
I am very excited to check this one out when it drops, but I have some concerns about the amount of content. Surely if they managed a full Lego game just using Force Awakens a few years back, a pack that contains the whole 9 film series is going to be seriously cut back in comparison. Then again, if they show the same amount of care to the individual movies in the same way that Lego Harry Potter did, I will be satisfied.
As much as I hate to admit it, this game is the primary reason I bought an R4 card for my DS some years ago. It's just so darn hard to find a copy, and when you do it costs more than the R4 card.
