Re: Atari Announces Bubsy 4D From 'Demon Turf' Developer Fabraz

ArcadianLegend99

Regardless of the game's actual quality, think of how many actually good platformer mascots are practically crying out for a revival. How cool, for example, would a 3D Rayman with the aesthetics/characters of the Origins series be? Or a proper Banjo-Kazooie revival? Heck, Spyro hasn't gotten a new game in the almost SEVEN YEARS since the Reignited Trilogy came out! And yet, out of all of these, who has been given chance after chance, attempt after attempt, even the benefit of genuinely good developers like the teams behind the Giana Sisters revival and Demon Turf? Bubsy friggin' Bobcat. The literal joke of platforming mascots. It frankly astounds me.

@sketchturner This is the part that many people miss. They are a 3 person team working on a huge sequel to one of the most beloved indie games of all time. The pressure they are under to get things exactly right must be immense. Did they announce it a bit too early? Yeah, definitely. However, that does not excuse the outright stupid amount of gnashing of teeth over no news. Cut them some slack. It'll release when they feel it's ready. There's tons of other games out there for you to play.

Honestly, I agree with the opinion that this is genuinely more intriguing than a new 3D Mario would've been. This is going to sound like sacrilege to some of you, but we've kinda gotten.....oversaturated with Mario as of late. I mean, in the past two years alone, we got remasters of both Super Mario RPG AND Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and Mario and Luigi: Brothership. And don't forget, we still have Mario Kart World to consider.

I'd say the plumber has more than earned the right to rest his platforming laurels for a little while and let the Banana Slamma have his turn in the spotlight.

I never pre-order games, but I made an exception for this one. This was my childhood Mario RPG, and they look to have done a bang-up job of remaking it for the modern era.

It's $10 off here. These guys are legit; they just ship out day of release, so you'll have to wait a few days.
