@GameOtaku Xenosaga is definitely within the realm of possibility now that Baten Kaitos (also a Bandai-Namco property) has been freed. As for Xenogears.....keep dreaming, lol.
NGL, I had doubts about Superstars as well. Hearing that tidbit straight out of Christian Whitehead's mouth has gone a long way towards alleviating the majority of those doubts. However - nailing the physics is only half the battle when it comes to 2D Sonic. The other half is level design that complements those physics. Will Sonic Team/Arzest actually stick the landing on this? Or will it be less Sonic Superstars and more Sonic Superfarts? Tune in this fall to find out - same hedgehog time, same hedgehog channel.
Those of you malding in the comments seriously need to touch some grass, lol. Not every game Nintendo announces is gonna be TOTK/Metroid Dread level hype. If anything, the way you guys are acting speaks to how spoiled rotten we are when it comes to great games on the Switch. Plus, you guys seem to forget that Nintendo is a FAMILY-oriented company - you know, the exact type of audience that would love this type of game.
@Poodlestargenerica Yeah, admittedly, the combat can be a bit of an...."acquired taste". Doesn't help that the random encounter rate even in the GC version, is pretty high. Something that a slider/fast-forward button should easily fix in a remaster. HINT HINT, WINK WINK, NUDGE NUDGE, SEGA.
Potential unpopular opinion: if a Zelda movie were to happen, the Wind Waker style would be the best possible choice. Heck, make it an adaptation of The Wind Waker! Literally no other Zelda game is more suited for animation than The Wind Waker. The Minish Cap as a possibe sequel.
@Paraka "But Switch has a massive momentum, and no real contender because their titan rivals struggle to even GET their systems out to the consumer. Why would Nintendo toss their hat in THAT?"
^THIS. ALL OF IT. Related anecdote: I've never even seen a PS5 in person, and the only systems I've seen stocked over the past three years in stores are the Switch and the Series S, and only the Switch with anything approaching regularity.
@shgamer Again, not saying that it's not impressive - the dude I was replying to implied that the Deck's limited success meant that Ninty needed to stop dragging its heels and release the Switch's successor now now now now now NOW in order to even have a remote chance of competing. I'm just sick and tired of hearing the Deck constantly being trotted out as a "Switch-killer", is all. If anything the Deck actually has more chances of killing off the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
@NewAdvent "fact is that companies with handheld PCs are catching up in their appeal"
Steam Deck - 3 million units sold Switch - 125 million units
"Catching up", lol yeah, OK. Not denying that the Steam Deck has carved out a little niche for itself, but that's all it is, and all it ever will be - a niche. It doesn't have the same crossover appeal the Switch does.
"July’s Pikmin 4, despite how excited I am for it, won't push hardware sales, nor does it have the same gravitas that would define the end of a console’s life."'
Why do I hear a blue puppet angrily screeching in the distance?
@Cesco An actually valid point. Remember the Sega Saturn's suprise early launch in America and how Kay-Bee Toys in particular were so ticked off that they outright refused to stock SEGA items in protest.
Just like how a Skies of Arcadia remaster was "TOTALLY HAPPENING GUYS, I'VE SEEN THE SCREENSHOTS" - only for said screenshots to be revealed to come from an HD texture upscale mod for the Gamecube release - https://twitter.com/TheRealNoseguy/status/1640486860173594626 Gaming rumors and the "insiders" that peddle them are a tumor on the industry.
I swear, Matt McMuscles must be some kind of video game prediction God. Right after he does a video on the Double Dragon series, a new game pops up. Same thing when he did a video on Alan Wake - 2 months later, Alan Wake 2 was announced.
Yeah, you can put me in the "slightly worried" camp. Praying that my fears are overblown and that this turns out to be a match made in Heaven, because I don't want to lose one of the most consistent studios when it comes to retro games. At least give us those NOLF remasters before you tap out, Nightdive.

Re: Random: Artists Are Already Creating Elephant Mario Fan Art And It's Brilliant
@RareFan who's to say they'll all be elephants? Maybe the transformation powerup is different for every character.
Mario = elephant
Luigi = rabbit
Peach = cat
Daisy = dog (Shiba Inu?)
Toad = mouse
Just thinking about the possibilities has me all giddy inside, like, this is the most excited for a 2D Mario game I've been in eons.

Re: Rumour: The Internet Goes Wild Over Supposed Persona 3 Remake Gameplay
I was going to say how (if true) this lent credence to a rumor that was circulating late last month that I had just found out about over the weekend: my beloved Skies of Arcadia was finally getting the remastered treatment:
https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/nintendo-gamecube-rpg-remaster-skies-of-arcadia/
Then a guy on Reddit, of all places, snapped me back to reality:
https://www.reddit.com/r/skiesofarcadia/comments/124sxnf/psa_there_is_almost_certainly_no_remaster_planned/
Happy for Persona and JSR fans, but still. The SoA hopium was nice while it lasted. sigh.
