Horii doesn't even understand how much of a fanfiction/parody his games are in English because the thing he's talking about are the basic translation issues like untranslatable personal pronouns. He doesn't even know how bad things really are.

Monster capturing with cards instead of balls? Now that’s a creative mechanic. Always great to see innovation in the survival genre. Looks solid. I see like six different games inspirations here, and thats a good thing! This is what the world needs.

Of all series to clutch pearls over people perving on the girls, censorious puritans pick Fatal Frame. Series known for having a decent amount of fan service. Comical really. Censorship is censorship, what they changed isn't really relevant. Something being 'icky', 'gross', or 'weird' one may find doesn't mean it's a bad thing.

Don't ever approve of censorship, it might be attacking something you don't care about but it will come for something you enjoy.

Spat censorship is so obvious. You are telling them unnecessary censorship is fine buying a copy, so I'll pass. Not to mention this has denuvo.

Pokopia is going to heavily rely on FOMO trapping. Makes me less inclined to play.

Wonder if any monkey paw shenanigans took part for them able to release these entries as E10+ with the Game Corner intact or if they had to alter out the gambling.

Also really curious if they altered the dialogue of the roms for 'modern sensibilities' such as the Old Man peering into Celadon City's gym or meddle with the choice of words when selecting your character upon starting.

Why is this Switch 2 exclusive? These could easily run 60fps on Switch 1!

Silver lining is they didn't redesign Donkey Kong to the corporate approved DK with the update, thank goodness.

@johnedwin A lot of games get rereleased as is with QoL features on Nintendo Switch. Lunar Remastered for instance is 16-bit and selling out physical copies. Why must Square Enix games be the exception?

I'm less excited over a remake/remaster and just exhausted of the prospect that SE WILL alter the characters costumes and censoring dialogue, then for people to say 'this butchery is not a big deal, this cover-up on the character looks better than the original, etc'.If it wasn't a big deal, why change it in first place? I'm just so tired of the mordern times man.. So, so much. Monkey paw curls a finger.

Always set rumble to 'off' so I didn't know this; you could edit the rumble levels on Wiimotes, but not Joycons?

This leaker must be protected at all costs. They've uncovered a lot of beta info on Gamefreaks past games that would had never been known were it not for them.

Have to pass this up. They bothered to get new voice actors, but not enough to redo the script to be more faithful (like removing the pop-culture fanfiction dribble). They instead reused the terrible Working Designs localization. I'm out.

This would be like if Nintendo didn't include the Mario Kart 8 WiiU DLC Packs that were $7.99 each or the $12.99 bundle, into the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Mouse Controls would really benefit the level creation in a Super Mario Maker Switch 2 release.

So games can be removed without requiring an update to the app. Good to know.

@Cakefish Nintendo is sure to announce some Switch 1 games within the year that you may fancy. Not sure if you want to take that gamble for a handful of savings.

I placed an order for the Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron is Back!, Puzzle Bobble Everybubble!, and a Bubble Bobble themed hoodie from them. It was delayed multiple times; about 2 years since ordering was when they once again delayed it from a Q3 2024 to beyond. At that point, I requested a refund. They didn't make it easy; saying what they could to convince me not to. Then they said:

"Unfortunately, we are not able to cancel orders that are older than one year automatically and have to do so manually"

So I waited a little over a week and they sent the refund back through paypal, and I was charged over $10.

Never doing buisness with them again.

I've received my physical copy a day after Christmas. Game is exactly as you'd expect. No bells & whistles, just a port with a resolution bump.

I should grab an Allmiibo before long then!

Seeing as Nintendo hasn't been patching their recent non online connected games, (hey Donkey Kong Country Returns), I don't see them fixing this which is totally fine 'cause it doesn't affect others experiences if I were to perform it.

If you had told me when the NSO Expansion was revealed that we'd be closing in on the Switch successor without Donkey Kong 64 or Smash Brothers 64 not yet released, I wouldn't had believed you. Here we are, however..

Is this the game where the localizers had free rein adding modern online terminology like 'chud' as an example, butchering the original script?

@Debo626 You could add ones account to multiple Switches in your circle and play their library of games they own digitally. I do that with my friends account without owning the games myself.

@MJF Switch 2 or not, it's redundant to include it since the system is backwards compatible and the rest of your list is pertaining to titles not available on Switch. You have the DS entry in your list, the wii game is titled 'New Super Mario Bros. Wii'

@BTB20 Waited for New Pokemon Snap and the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX remake; eventually paid off with 30% discount. I'm in no rush to pick this up, but it is astonishing how long they're reluctant to discount some of their catalog.

@MJF New Super Mario Bros U has already released on Switch. Could replace it with the Wii game.

I believe it'll be $500 at least. Nintendo knows it's audience are good pay piggies. Throw in a Pokemon and Mario Kart launch title and system will sell in droves.

People who say they're "glad DK looks more like his old arcade self" do NOT understand DK canon at all. Canonically, Cranky Kong is the one in the old arcade/NES games, NOT our Rare-era DK. There is no reason to make Donkey Kong look like "his original design" because that original design isn't him. Furthermore, it introduces a major problem because all of DK's Rare-era Kong relatives look like him..Ya know.. Because they're related. Diddy, Dixie, Kiddie, Funky, Wrinkly, Tiny, Lanky, etc. They all have a familiar resemblance. Redesigning DK would require also redesigning all of those other Kongs, and I don't even really know that they'd all look right in this new art style. If Nintendo really wants DK to look different for Mario Kart 10 and their little animated movies, then so be it, but DK had better not change in the next Donkey Kong game. Why? Well, change the way Mario looks drastically too back to his plumper self in the original Donkey Kong or Mario Bros Arcade asethetic and talk to me then about character design.

Imagine if Nintendolife were still to review all the eshop slop like they stride to do for Wiiware and DSIware.

Apparently the game's very handholdy, humor doesn't have any depth, bad guy is a scatterbrain forgetting peoples names (the concept isn't exactly new), and it has frame rate issues through stuttering anytime elemental displays appear. Also, you don’t control Luigi’s jumping anymore in the overworld. He for the most part follows along as an NPC which is quite the departure. Random ecounters instead of enemies appearing in the overworld to initiate combat? Wouldn't arrive to the conclusion of "Best Mario & Luigi RPG yet" as that's a tall order to fill and considering these points.
