Re: Random: Nintendo Fixed One Man's Out Of Warranty, First-Gen 3DS For Next To Nothing

I've normally had good service from them with my Wii and WiiU, but I recently sent my left blue joy-con off for repair because it kept losing sync in wireless and the thumb stick kept drifiting. It took them 5 weeks to repair it.

They initially tried to bill me even though I sent them the proof of purchase (which they lost), and they then made me send it again, even though the Switch hadn't even been in the wild for 12 months anyway so surely PoP was pointless... I wouldn't have been so bothered, but they lost my proof of purchase when I sent my New 3DSXL previously as well, so maybe the UK division are pretty loose. The whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth...

Re: Guide: How To Unlock Every Badge In ARMS

AhabSpampurse

@Shiryu exactly my sentiment. Fired it up yesterday, got numerous badges straight away and enough to play 2 long sessions of "Get Arms". Been fiddling on and off and squirreled up another 400 coins... having them be vaguely generous with coins is a huge incentive to play again.

Re: The Latest European My Nintendo Rewards Have A Retro Theme

@tedko but that's my point, they're bonuses. They cost nothing, and are gifted via coins, which you acquire from doing nothing more than purchasing a product.

I agree the system is not as good as Club Nintendo, in any way, shape, or form. I still have a ton of swag from CN days that is heaps better than anything on offer now <I'm looking at you, Dark Moon diorama>.

But being indignant over something you're being offered, which is available for free following a standard retail purchase, is something I'm not comfortable doing. After all, something given has no real value.

Please don't misunderstand me, I'd love the rewards to be better. I buy Nintendo products regularly and have a stack of platinum and gold coins. But as you said, they're just bonuses. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they pull their thumbs out in the future, but my point is I don't think any of us are in a position to demand that.

I don't understand the negativity. The coins we build up are gifted as a by-product from a purchase. Yeah, the rewards aren't amazing, but people are literally complaining about something they get for free, with a currency that they also received for free... am I the only one who thinks that's a bit bizarre and smacks of a smidge of entitlement?

Re: Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Misses Out on Top Spot in UK Charts

AhabSpampurse

Brilliant news. I'll hold my hand up and acknowledge being a total hater when the game was formally announced, but I've been playing nom stop all weekend. Easily one of the best surprises all year. It oozes quality, polish, charm, and is absolute blast to play. I'm really hoping some more Nintendo alumni get started on with the DLC.

To would be buyers being put off by the difficulty, I really didn't find it all that hard. To give you some perspective, I've been playing games for 30 years but it to never felt ridiculous. I've given up on Dark Souls, Tumbleseed, and expert on GH or Rock Band but I managed to finish this within 3-4 days of casual playing.

Admittedly I played it to VR, so I don't know if that makes things easier, but the levels are progressive and the difficulty ramps up quite eloquently. The point is, it's a tremendous game, one of the best I've played all year. Don't let the difficulty remarks put you off. Give it a go.
