God that's depressing. Yoshi's New Island is just so.... beige. If it was a curry it would be a korma. If it was a spice, it'd be flour. I was REALLY looking forward to this as well. It could end up being decent, but that's put a real dampener on my excitement.

@gcunit I'd recommend Shock Troopers and this. Both are outstanding with heaps of extra gubbins.

I absolutely adore this game. It really is something special. I have no idea where they'll go but for the first time in decades I'm actually excited.

@OdnetninAges correct. To be honest though this is a good thing for consumers at the moment, as the versions that are out come with numerous bells and whistles that have thus far been absent from VC releases.

I helped kickstart this into creation, and it's one of the best investments I've ever made. My name is also printed in the back, which impressed my kids to no end!

Watching the Direct I was fairly ambivalent to this games announcement, but now that it's here I play all the time. The stripped down simplicity and short fights make for perfect pick up and play. On some occasions I find myself playing it more than Fates...

@ULTRA-64 bring an n64 fan, could you recommend a decent place to buy a replacement pad? My analogue stick is completely screwed and I've been looking for a reliable replacement for a while. It's hard though, cos a lot pre-owned pads have garbage sticks too.

As a long time Nintendo fan, I'll eat my shoes if every one of those games listed in point 1 actually DO come out this year. I love Nintendo, almost as much as they love delaying games...

I was disappointed tbh. No VC mentions and the launch titles they focused on, being Arms and 1 2 Switch just weren't my thing. A pre order is down though purely on the strength of Zelda. Here's hoping the launch software is actually built upon, and we get some clarity soon regarding VC...

Apologies my nintendo brethren if this sounds like a stupid question... but how do I use amiibo following the patch? Can I only scan them when talking to Wisp? I've done that, but I read somewhere that apparently it will also make certain characters appear in the campground and nothing seems to be happening. I did try and find some info online but I'm still none the wiser!

@nab1 I have, it sucks. As a Nintendo fan for over 30 years this just makes me sad. I'll play it if anything to actually have a valid opinion, but I just feel this makes Mario and the brand in general look cheap. Clearly the product isn't designed for my old self.

Terrible. Why would anyone want this? Give me a real Mario game, not another ridiculous endless runner...

I actually owned one of those, and I was brilliant. Selling it was one of the worst mistakes I ever made.

Eh, you take the good with the bad. On the plus side I won't have to make a difficult decision between PSVR and NX now. Also, my annual bonus is in March so that's the expense side sorted! It would have been nice to have a new Zelda game this Xmas, but think of the glorious graphical splendor we'll have from playing it on new tech!

I had the controls down after the first two levels. I'm cooking people left and right now. Dogfights with Star Wolf are particularly great. I love it.

I think Shin Megami Tensei IV has been discounted more times than all other games in the history of the universe combined.

@AyeHaley snap, I just got mine as well. The buttons do feel heaps better, and despite having Hyrule Warriors thrown in I've revisited MH4U, which has got its hooks in me yet again.

I didn't really see the appeal, but I downloaded the Japanese apk and it's actually pretty fun. I can see quite a few people enjoying it. It's got that Nintendo charm plastered all over it.

@Grumblevolcano cheeky! But yeah, hopefully this will be something that's addressed with the new My Nintendo account system, fingers crossed!

@Antray1984 thanks for the suggestion but you can't, I tried with last week's releases. The purchase button that's normally at the bottom of the screen is greyed out and says "For New 3DS systems only."

I'm gutted, because I'm upgrading to a New 3ds XL at the end of the month (the new Zelda model) and I'm missing out on all these timed SNES VC discounts. This is why we need an account system similar to Sony, so I can make digital purchases prior to owning the hardware

@Grumblevolcano last I read, yeah, they were all being bundled in.

I'm still waiting for preorders of this to appear somewhere in the UK. I'm super excited, and considering its only a month away I'm surprised that the listing isn't in major retailers. If anybody knows where I can pick up the first print edition, feel free to clue me up!

@rishisquid I kinda get that. The first time I played it I was snowed in for days and had to skip work; it was complete bliss. I tried going back to it about 18 months ago and it just felt a bit lacking. I'll probably still pick it up, because I'm weird and obsessive, but here's hoping I enjoy it more when it looks all sparkly.
