If you're counting down the days until Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection rumbles onto Nintendo Switch - and you happen to live in the EU - you'll be pleased as punch to learn you can now pre-order a retail version of the game direct from lesser-known retailer Base.
There was some concern as to whether the EU was going to get a retail version, especially as it's unavailable on larger retailers such as Amazon, but thankfully you can now put down some euros (or some pounds) to secure your copy in time for May. The previous SF on Switch - Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers - also got a physical release in Europe and the UK so it was only a matter of time until it was made available.
Will you be pre-ordering an EU copy of the latest Street Fighter retro release? Punch, kick and fireball your way into the comments below...

Digital for me
Will be getting a physical copy....but not at the suggested price. A little high for a collection of games that exist much cheaper on other platforms.
Do we have a release date yet?
I'll buy this when it's dirt cheap. That's all Capcom deserve.
'Punch, king'?
I'll get this digital as it may as well live in my console! (Unless Nintendo store has a cool freebie with it)
Usually I’d go for physical over digital, but I’m really torn regarding this collection.
Like Puyo Puyo Tetris it might make more sense to have it as a download for a quick play from time to time.
Gonna get this but I will wait until the Nintendo store has it
@NinjaWaddleDee in the picture it does say due for release 28 May 2018
@WrongChops I'm beginning to think it's a staff in-joke now, slipping at least one typo into every article
Will be interesting to see how this collection reviews.
@Magrane I have never seen all of these games packaged together this cheap or adding them all together and getting such a low price.
And will they all be on the Game Card or just the first Street Fighter with the others requiring a download?
All the games better be on one single cartridge this time.
Europe is getting a physical release of a Capcom game on Switch?
Jesus christ.
How will they screw this one up? Is there not "cost reasons" like with RE Revelations?
I will buy it. But no need to preorder
So let me guess alpha and sf3 will be a seperate download. Capcom never want to let people own their stuff easily
Does this include Street Fighter II which many bought for £30-40 already last year? Jk, I already know it does. Capcom has done so much right recently. About time Switch owners felt the benefit of that for once. This package seems decent. It's just how it makes the last one look that is difficult to swallow.
Pre-ordered.
Thanks for heads up.
Recently sold my PsOne copies of Alpha 2 and 3, along with SFIII 3rd impact on Dreamcast for over £100. More than covers the entry price of this with full online functionality on the greatest console ever made.
I like BASE. I've used them a lot - especially for Vita games.
Can't wait to get this. Sold my copy of Street Fighter 2 on eBay today for £28 before prices hit rock bottom when this is released.
It’s £14 more than the PS4 version! I get that the carts cost more than blu ray but not £14 more! I’ll get it on PS4
@antster1983
Holy crap I totally didn't think of that. Street Fighter is one of my favorite childhood experiences to have with my friends. I've been totally looking forward to this while forgetting who makes this. If Capcom f**** this up and does not put all of the 12 games on the cart I'm gonna be so disappointed. Please Capcom it's not that hard to not blow this collection just put ALL THE GAMES ON ONE DAMN CART!!!!
Would someone please explain something to me as I genuinely don't really understand what I am about to ask.
I can understand £5.00 more for Nintendo Switch, but why would the price be £14.00 more than on PS4? I am not fussed at £5.00.
Hi all
Shopto have the game on Preorder if any ones interested
https://www.shopto.net/nintendo/switch/SWST73-street-fighter-30th-anniversary-collection
But it is a bit pricey
Di-gi-tal for me. Having always SFZero 3 and SSF2X in my pocket is priceless.
Anyone knows which version of SFZ3 we will have in this compilation ?
Because if it's the first one released in Arcade without 6 characters from the console releases (Dee Jay, Fei Long, T Hawk, Guile, Shin Akuma and Evil Ryu), that would be an missed opportunity from Capcom. It would be even better if the four characters from the GBA/PSP versions were also included (Maki, Eagle, Yun and Ingrid).
Anybody bought from these guys, and willing to vouch for them? I've seen them a few times but never took the plunge...
@DickeyWord this is the same company that announced that in the physical release of mega man legacy collection 1+2 you will have to download part 2. Do you know how small those roms are? Literally tiny. They must be using the cheapest smallest cart available. I’d be afraid for this
@smashboy2000 I’m sure the initial announcement stated that all games would be the arcade originals, but since it’s got at least 5 versions of SF2 it would be good if it also included the definitive final iterations of Alpha 2 Gold and Alpha 3 Upper Max Hyper Ninja G’goo G’Joob Edition.
A digital discount for owners of Ultra SF2 would also be appreciated.
And the moon. I want Capcom to give me the moon. Onna stick.
Def will buy this but unsure on what system. Not down to price but more down to the lack of d-pad for handheld.
Switch is making me go digital!
As much as I want this digitally, definitely grabbing physical. Probably will buy a digital copy on sale to always have with me.
@gaga64 If it's just SFAlpha 3 vanilla, it would be such a shame. As a Street Fighter fan, I would really think twice before buying this compilation.
Or I'll wait the Switch to be hacked, buy a new one and install Mame on it. Too bad for Capcom.
I have the SF30 from 8bitdo. It works fine on my Switch and I use it all the time to play MK8Deluxe. It should work fine with Street Fighter as I generally play in docked mode. Really it depends on which game I'm playing as to what mode I play in.
@Mr_Pepperami
The Mega Man fiasco is what has me worried. I would hope after some of the backlash they are receiving from that decision they don't pull the same move and put all games on the card because we all know they can fit on the average size card with ease.Fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞
@AhabSpampurse I've bought from them a number of times in the Wii U era and never had a problem myself, can't speak for anyone else of course.
@WrongChops It wouldn't be a NintendoLife article if there wasn't at least one typo or incorrect fact now would it?
@AhabSpampurse I’ve ordered from them several times without problem.
Don’t get me started on GAME.
Thanks for the heads up. Wasn’t sure if I’d get this for PS4 or Switch, but decided to take the plunge now.
@MartyFlanMJFan cheers!
@Sinton ta for letting me know!
@DickeyWord yeah I hope so. I can’t say I know how much these carts cost but Jesus it was stingy to not put all the legacy collection on just one. Even Nintendo is doing this stuff now with the bayonetta thing. Really think it’s unfair to pass the cost of storage onto the gamer. Especially when the system capacity was so low to begin with.
For PS4 and XBoxOne you get it for under 30...
> If you're counting down the days until Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection rumbles onto Nintendo Switch
That's me!
> and you happen to live in the EU
That's not me
Words cannot describe how hyped I am for this game.
@smashboy2000 I think I heard somewhere it's the arcade SFA3 version, not the console release. Can't quite recall where, maybe it was Maximillian Dood who said it in one of his Sakura legacy videos.
I went physical for Ultra SF II - I wouldn't make that same mistake again. It's so much more convenient in digital form, if you just want to play a bout or three. I will probably end up getting this, but not at launch. Still enjoying Ultra, anyway.
@GrailUK Third Strike?
Need to find a pad to play it with but this definitely looks like a digital download...
@Mr_Pepperami Hence my snide remark in Comment 12. Some of us don't call 'em Crapcom for no reason you know.
Wait, this collection is cheaper on PS4 and Xbox One? Here in the States, it's $40 across the board. I guess you guys across the pond are getting better deals on the other systems... Oh well, I'll just pick it up for $32 with Best Buy GCU on Switch.
@antster1983 could be worse though. Could be Konami
I’ll be sticking with MAME until there’s a joy con with a d-pad available,
@Mr_Pepperami True that.
@retro_player_22
Knowing Capcom they might make them each their own cartridge.
@WiltonRoots I told you, I'm trying not to think about it too much. I retired my Switch for a while to get it out of my system and taken up a new hobby. Triking. I bought my self a new trike from Harry Thurd and Sons in Lancashire. I tried other trikes but Thurd's trike was the...the...DAMMIT!!!
@crackafreeze No it's not. This is one collection. The Mega Man collections were two being sold in one physical and digital package.
I heard somewhere it's the arcade SFA3 version,
These are all the arcade versions. We don't yet know if the console version will be a secret unlockable or not yet. It was in the Alpha Anthology.
They never had a collection with street fighter 2, all alphas, 3 and street fighter all together. It is worth the price.
Knowing Capcom they'll put the original Street Fighter on a 25MB cartridge while the remaining games will all have to be downloaded.
I can not wait for this to come out. Ugh...need a time machine. Need some 3rd strike and Alpha on the go....
Need to build a new arcade stick....
Getting this digital. I wish I had bought ultra digital. But i hate medium switching on the same system. Ill look out for a sale perhaps.
Not all that excited about this. Honestly, I can’t think of one game coming I’m all that excited about... Nintendo needs to announce some new games.
Nope. Got the other one since my gf liked fighting games when she was younger. Turns out she doesn't really. I already have fatal fury, and I didn't enjoy playing it much so I sold it recently. Lost about $14 after fees, but whatever.
Not a fan, plus if capcom likes to screw their customers, I won't be one.
@justin233 What about these?
Bayonetta 3
Project Octopath Travelers
Shin Megami Tensei V
No More Heroes: Travis Returns
Fire Emblem Switch
Dragon Quest XI
Dark Souls Remastered
Mega Man 11
Valkyria Chronicles 4
Shining Resonance: Refrain
Metroid Prime 4
Wild Guns Reloaded
BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle
The World Ends With You: Final Remix
Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze DX
Fear Effect Sedna
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
@retro_player_22
Only one of interest is Metroid. Already played the Wii U ports. The rest aren’t my thing.
Nintendo found the way to make tons of money, keep re-releasing same games over and over and over again. Well played Nintendo.
The pre-order on Amazon France is up too. 38 Euros. Yes,
it's a good bundle but I own (or have owned) at least half of these games in one form or another already. For me it's not worth it paying that amount.
@justin233 Then I guess gaming is not for you otherwise you'll choose more than that. Go live a life.
@retro_player_22 bit harsh mate. Maybe they aren’t for him or he’s played the ports on other systems. I’ve played all the wii u ones and I don’t like rpgs so that reduces mine a fair bit as well.
@DickeyWord In the instances of Mega Man and Resident Evil revelations, Capcom didn’t supply both games on the same card because the Switch only recognises one piece of software per card. It is assigned its own profile and save file; a bootstrap menu that gave you the option of loading either game wouldn’t get around this.
The only way around this would be to compile both games into one as a single piece of software (ie PAC MAN Championship Editon), with the option to enter a game in a main menu or equivalent.
The fact that Capcom decided not to do this engineering is more important than anything, as they either didn’t want to spend the time or money doing so.
Have used BASE a few times and always been very impressed. Prices are good and for collectors editions they send in a hardbacked box rather than the usual flimsy jiffy bag most retailers use.
@retro_player_22 That’s a silly response. Gaming isn’t for me because nothing coming out soon appeals to me... ok...
As @Mr_Pepperami said, I’ve played the ports and RPG/Horror/Fighting/Shmups aren’t my thing. That reduces the number of games I have to choose from drastically.
You are right, though - I should be living life rather than wasting time with you.
I will get the Switch version.
@retro_player_22
That’s a word up!
@DickeyWord why would they do that when they can use the smallest, cheapest carts and put a front end for the game that connects to their download servers. I’ll be really surprised and quite pleased if all the content is actually on the carts.
I'll be getting the physical version from Amazon, can't wait!
In the article's image, the SF cast is all angry, upset, but not really shocked, at Capcom releasing yet another SF compilation game, that is surely, incomplete.
I am struggling to be excited about a collection of the same fighting game, and especially since I just bought a street fighter game for switch, do i need more of the exact same street fighter game, nah probably not.
@justin233 I feel a bit the same way, the only games I'm somewhat keen on are YS viii and Octopath traveller. Nothing else on the release calendar excites me. A Kirby collection would be nice instead of the multiplayer focussed one they are releasing this year. I really hope they release a vc service in September because I'm not using my switch much at all right now.
If secret of mana collection got an english port I would play the crap out of it! For some reason square Enix never responds to my emails and Facebook queries on this lol
@bolt05 Yea, Kirby was a game I was really excited for but then it turned out to be multiplayer focused. Was hoping for Yoshi by May, too.
I’m just starving for something big coming our way from Nintendo. We know of some big hitters, but only from teasers with minimal info. The most exciting thing coming soon in my opinion is Labo, which is a little sad.
A VC on Switch really would help fill the gaps.
@faint There are other compilations on the PS2 and XBox systems released years ago. Check them out. Although I don't think those included the original Street Fighter. Either way, the price point is too high considering past releases.
@Darlinfan Not high at all! I guess my perspective is from a gamer who has bought the past compilations and seen other collections. This is a unique release, no doubt. I'm just questioning the price which is comparable to a more modern release of a single game.
I do hear you though. All those games separately do add up and merit past the 40 dollar price point.
@Darlinfan I'm on your page. I loved the other anniversary collection. But to be honest after all this time since the PS2 version, as cool as this will be, its hard for me to swallow paying more. I can wait for a sale of course but......
@Magrane they didn’t have this many titles or online play for that matter. They also didn’t have hd implementation.
@retro_player_22 my wallet just shrieked in fear.
ShopTo opened their pre-orders at the end of last week (Didn't see you guys announce that). But it is worth pointing out that there is a £10/15 Nintendo cart tax when compared to the PS4 or Xbox One Editions with both retailers.
God I love that boxart
Barefoot Sagat thought he’d picked all the Lego up off the floor.
Narrator: He hadn’t.
Nope, too much. Once you played one Street Fighter, you've played them all. So far, nothing of relevance has came from Capcom. Not paying $40 for Street Fighter 2. Will not buy Megaman 1+2, since you have to download the 2nd game. Not getting RE: Revelations for the same reason as Megaman, the only difference being you have to pay $40 for RE: Revelations 2, if you count the 23 gb install. Capcom not bringing MH XX to the US, not that I want it now, anyway. Wow, they've really earned the nickname Crapcom at this point!
Definitely going to purchase this. There are a lot of titles on the cart--enough to justify the price for me.
