We get to do a lot of cool stuff here at Nintendo Life, such as playing new games, going to press events and connecting with you, our dear, dear readers.
However, all of these wonderful things pale into insignificance when compared to the utter, unbridled joy of mucking about with toys. And this week it's the turn of the S.H. Figuarts Super Mario Brothers: Mario, made by Bandai.
This fully posable figure captures Mario's happy outlook on life in the Mushroom Kingdom perfectly, and comes with those essential accessories: a golden coin (for when he needs change for the parking meter, presumably) and a mushroom, for when our portly plumber wants to 'get big' (ahem).
The bad news is that we placed our pre-order months ago for this from Play-Asia, and it only just arrived this week. Stock has almost entirely run out, too.
Hopefully the images we've shared with you here will overcome your feelings of disappointment. Now, if you'll forgive us, we're going to play with it for a little longer.

Boys and their toys...
Really? That toy is horribly articulated for a Figuarts release.
This toy is useless... I need one!
Super Mali would kick his butt

Itβs the best mario figure.

That Mario vs. Mech picture is a masterpiece! Nice job!
These are world of Nintendo Marioβs.
This picture is old as I now have acquired builder mario. These are my kids toys not mine. No seriously
Thanks, but I still love my World of Nintendo figures.
I'll stick to my 120+ amiibo, thanks. π
Toys R Us near me still had a bunch of Nintnedo figures if anyone wants to go look. TRU is taking longer to go out of business than it was in business.
Possibly related, the Target near me remodeled the store and all toys to life, including amiibo, are gone, and I don't see anywhere to put them if more come in. Ubi may be SOL w/ Starlink, may be best if it turns out to be vaporware.
Books are going to be written about TRU and toys to life are going to get their own chapter, timing of their demise is too coincidental.
+10 points for the Spaceballs reference, @Damo. Ahab approves.
I bought 4 of these sets in Asia, they're great. Fear not, they're still available on Alliexpress;

Oh I love the SHF Mario, only issue is they didn't build in a way to change his expression. And since he's the same scale as WoN you can add that lines stuff to expand.
Still sad they went with SMB1 scale for their Bowser.
Love the Spaceballs tagline. Lol @Damo
I've never been too happy with human (or human Like characters) being done in highly articulated fashion, because the joints always look out of place to me. I collect Transformers, and the joints in those cases fit in with the robot aesthetic.
Hmph. I always knew Mario was a poser.
"Hopefully the images we've shared with you here will overcome your feelings of disappointment"
No.....they have not. π΅
The fact that you've used a tagline from Spaceballs made me want to comment on this post with ludicrous speed.
@Prof_Yoshtonics "I knew it, I'm surrounded by ***holes!"
Spaceballs is the best.
Haha. Love the Spaceballs reference.
Oke.... This gave me an excuse to buy it... "im gonna play together with my nephew" lol
@KoopaTheGamer Mech?!?! That there is Megatron, leader of the Decepticons. He's no "Mech," he's a Transformer! Such blasphemy...
@Racthet916 I know that's a Transformer. But, Mechs are pilotable robots, right? So at least to me, Transformers are Mechs too.
@KoopaTheGamer Well, technically. Transformers are sentient alien robots from a nother planet. Which is kinda funny considering how Transformers are based on Diaclone, a toy line about Pilotable, Transformable mechs. But, it's kinda more complicated than that however.
One of the absolute worst Figuarts ever. Terrible balance and limited articulation.
if you stand mario next to
he will run away and melt.
What is that Megatron? Never seen it before.
What game is on the GBA Micro?
