To be fair, I just want a flood of details for Luigi's Mansion and Animal Crossing, with confirmation that both are coming this year for sure. Everything else is just a bonus.

@nathatruc Yeah, I picked it up a few weeks back. I was expecting something similar to the Zelda Encyclopedia but it's a book of just solid text. So it is actually a good read then?

I will try and give it a go, but when I have a moderately higher amount of time to burn!

@Bliquid this is way easier. The absence of a third dimension makes for infinitely less variables for a start, also the instant restart to the fight, no checkpoints being required... That's just my opinion of course. Please don't think I'm being obtuse; I'm well aware that Soulsborne games have patterns but there's a ton more strategy needed in those games. Ranging from character builds to equippable gear. This is way, way more simplified.

I've finished DS1 and Bloodborne, and looking forward to Sekiro tomorrow, but I've easily sunk over 100 hours into each of those. Cuphead I completely smashed over a weekend.

@Heavyarms55 nah, it's not that bad. I've never finished Dark Souls 2 or 3, and I'm not one of these gaming masochists by any stretch. Like someone above referenced; it's just patterns. Once you get them down you're fine. It's a really, really great game. The learning curve is progressive as well, and when you start unlocking power ups and perks to give you more of an edge, balance is much easier to achieve. Give it a go.

I love this game. Completely 100% finished it on Xbox, so does anyone know if the achievements can be unlocked a second time?

I'm presuming that it'll just link up my XBL profile and show them as already unlocked, but I'm unsure if the Switch release is a separate SKU with the cheevs re-added. It's not a deal breaker, but it'd be nice to be challenged all over again.

I played through this again recently on GCN... It's really brilliant. Divisive as hell, but unique and really ahead of its time.

Nintendo has hella stones to be this open. It's refreshing considering the skullduggery that most studios pull, so whilst I'm REALLY disappointed about the delay, at least the transparency and humble apology has offset this somewhat. Here's hoping the final product will be worth the wait.

@Trajan I totally agree. I haven't said he can't do anything; I haven't made any statements. I asked him a question and he ended up being pissy with me... seemed a bit defensive if you ask me. Maybe he just needs a hug <shrugs>

@ElectricGhost no one is saying you can't hack or mod. What I asked is whether you felt that Nintendo not giving you a complete access to their entire back catalogue was justification enough to warrant you modifying their hardware, just to suit your whims. Read the wordy-words before you answer, child. Otherwise you run the inherent risk of looking like a total pleb.

@Scottwood101 you forgot Animal Crossing and Pokemon. Also, I'm still holding out on the chances of Metroid potentially making some sort of appearance. We can all dream. Maybe if we all sacrifice a goat the old gods will bless us.

@Retron I've managed to adjust to it, but when I go back to operating the Switch dash and play other games it feels like my brain has been broken.

@MeloMan well I managed to beat DS, but OG Xbox Ninja Gaiden beat me into submission. You have my respect. If you could do Gaiden though, you can do this!

@Woosh193 I was the same, but I actually completed it 2 days ago. Get over that initial hump, focus on one type of character build, and remember to be patient.

@smithpa01 you're not alone. I didn't even know about the audio issues until this morning, and I've sunk over 15 hours in without even realising or feeling the need to remark on it.

@PlayedNSlayed huh. It sucks that this has been done but honestly I haven't noticed. Admittedly I haven't played the original enough to make a proper comparison, but it honestly hasn't spoiled the experience for me one bit.

What is the complaint regarding the sound? I've been playing all weekend and haven't noticed anything that has detracted from my experience.

Amazing game in VR. Be interesting to see how the Switch version pans out.

@Jazzem agreed on all points. I'm playing through SMB3 again (for the five millionth time) and I'm struck by how good it looks on Switch hardware in 4:3

@cleveland124 the d-pad on the pro controller works fine with these. Heck, I'm using mine right now.

I would be one of the first to say that the emulations look fantastic. The colours really pop as opposed to the WiiU version which look faded and dull.

Loving these releases. As soon as a Panzer Dragoon game gets released I will be a happy chappy.

@NintendoFan4Lyf I know, right? It's insane the amount of negative feedback this has had. £20 for an ENTIRE YEAR of online gaming is chump change as far as I'm concerned. I genuinely don't understand why people are up in arms over such a paltry cost. We've been enjoying free online console gaming from Nintendo for nearly 13 years. And the response to being asked to pay approx £1.60 a month? Unbridled fury. We genuinely live in the age of entitlement.

Great file size. Given the size of the PS4 edition (60gb) that's a damn fine score with me.

@invictus4000 it's held up pretty well IMO. I played it again quite recently and asides from smudgy graphics the gameplay is still def there.

@abbyhitter it's vaguely rewarding to know a bit about the lore, but it is in no way mandatory. Maybe check a wiki beforehand to get some of the basics, or go in blind. That's what I did and it didn't effect experience.

@readyletsgo Yeah it's SP. It's better as a social thing because it can get a bit grindy, but I played through the majority of the campaign solo 👍

@nab1 seconded. It still stands up incredibly well now, and as far as I'm concerned it's not only the pinnacle in the series but all also one of the most challenging, balanced, and rewarding racing games in our time.

People keep asking for a follow up for a very clear reason! Get cracking, Nintendo!

@SuperCharlie78 for me, it's whenever I do a floor smash. The whole thing freezes for about 1.5 secs and skips the actual smashing of the floor animation.

Saying that, I've still sunk about 30 hours into it and loved it all. That's a pretty good testimony to how good the game is if you ask me.

@RadioHedgeFund You and me both. It seems people are largely unhappy about the sub and what it offers. Personally I've got no qualms about paying for it, and as an avid retro gamer I'm looking forward to playing some NES games (and maybe more) on my lovely Switch.

Maybe we're due a Direct right about now. Seems like a good place to cram in some details and other potential game news...

I loved this game on the PS4, but this version feels like it's cut a few corners. It doesn't feel as fluid, the structure is completely different, and the FTP model feels like it's cheapens it. I'm a little bit sad, but it's hard to gripe too much when it's free.

@The_Pixel_King I'm with you. I was massively disappointed. Literally no big reveals that were worth getting excited over, either due to leaks, rumour, or previous confirmation from Nintendo themselves. The only rumour that didn't come to fruition that I would have liked was Retro's Starfox. I kept waiting for the wow moment and it never came. Gutted.
