@trobby GameStop has the Switch 2 edition up for preorder in the US for $30. It’s GKC so you might be right.

@trobby I think that just means the upgrade path is digital only and won’t have a physical upgrade pack with a code.

@ThaBEN I assume you’ll download the upgrade pack from the eShop and then it’ll basically be DLC. After you download it it’ll probably automatically be there when you open the game

I’ll check Minecraft later today and see if I was invited. It’s cool that people get to try the beta out but sucks it’s random.

While I’m glad that the game is getting an upgrade path (thank you Mojang and Microsoft) I would hate to have to pay extra for the path considering Minecraft’s base price is the same across all consoles (if I’m not mistaken). It’d suck if the Switch 2 version is $35-40 USD while the other versions are only $30. We’ll just have to wait and see I suppose.

I just got back into Pokemon Pokopia and finished the story last week. Hoping to progress through building my Palette Town and rebuild its Pokemon Center. I might also play some Donkey Kong Bananza. I recently beat the final rehearsal and now I must go for 100% completion.

I could see the artist assuming that Donald Duck has 5 fingers but I’m surprised no one caught this before they revealed the box art. But I can also see why the internet would believe that the box art was created using Gen AI.

I was one of the cheapskates that played VB NSO without the peripheral and I’ll attempt it again to take a look at these games. It’s cool Nintendo is releasing unreleased games for the VB.

Unfortunately I’ve already played and beat it via 3D All Stars, but I’ll probably replay some of it. I really enjoyed Sunshine and the music is phenomenal.

I haven’t played it but I’ve heard really good things about it. Hope all fans are excited!

@Vivianeat That could be a possibility. I know that they did this in Super Smash Bros Ultimate with Fighters Pass (Volumes 1 and 2). I can’t imagine paying the MSRP of the base game again for only 2 DLC’s (assuming the second would be priced like the first one).

The DLC looks fun but I’m not sure if I can justify $35 for what’s shown. Hopefully the third part really shines.

I’d love to get this DLC but I’m not even finished with the main game yet! (I just got to Sparkling Skylands and need to rebuild the big building) I’d also like to see the last 2 parts of the DLC before dropping another $35 on Pokopia, but I’m sure they’ll turn out fine.

@VoidofLight After reading this comment, this game is a definite no. I hate all of this AI stuff and it’s doing almost nothing to help the video game community.

I’ve never cared for RE but I hope those who do enjoy the more consistent titles!

I want them all but realistically I’d probably end up going for the Arcanine or Rayquaza. I’m still more interested in the new DK Arcade set though. It’s so cool that it’s playable!

@Rasdock I’ll more than likely still get it but it’ll be a while before I do (ahem, via a sale). I’m still fascinated by how Lego managed to make it to where you can actually play it lol.

@Rasdock Yeah I saw an early review for the set. I hate all the circular pieces at the front (with Pauline, DK, and Jumpman) are stickers because if you ever so slightly misalign them, it’s gonna show.

I’m not that interested in Xenoblade, but this has made me realize I need an SD card. I just hate the prices of them right now.

I’m actually heading to an arcade museum with some of my friends today! I’ve been before and not only do they have arcade machines, but they’ve also got some retro consoles too!

This looks cool even though I’m not a Terminator fan. I’ve been needing some more cartridge storage for a while (down to 2 or so slots) but I’m gonna go for something more practical.

The only Amiibo I own is Green Yarn Yoshi and that’s because a friend of mine gave it to me years ago. I’ve never seen reason to buy a $20+ non posable figure (excluding that one Zelda one with posable arms) just to unlock a new outfit or give you some items. They’re a neat idea on paper but I’d much rather just save my money.

With that price per piece I’d really hope that most (if not all) of the designs are printed and not stickers. I hate Lego stickers with every inch of my body.

I’ve never been good at any of these rhythm games but this one looks interesting. Will definitely download the demo and try it out.

These all look really cool and detailed but I’m already thinking on picking up the wave 2 SMGM Bowser figure (I missed out on him in the first movie wave) so I’ll pass on the Zelda ones for now.

I have the Piranha Plant and Pac-Man sets, but I’m bummed about the Mario & Yoshi set being retired. I’d much rather have Mario Minifigures, so I’m saving up for those instead.

In all seriousness I wouldn’t be surprised if there were more scalpers there than actual people wanting to see it. I hate scummy people like that who will buy in bulk just to resale for 5 times the MSRP. No doubt there’s gonna be a 1 per person limit on these.

From the looks of the back of the box it’s semi-playable, so this is definitely a big yes from me. I do believe I won’t buy it day one however.

Ooh! I might pick up some if they have lots of articulation in them. That’d make them good for stop motion.

I’m fine with remakes but when there’s already a way to play the original/ another remake already made that’s when I want to see something new/a remake of a different game (looking you Star Fox and OoT). I’m fine with these remakes as they’re going to be/are massive upgrades from the originals but why not a remake something that hasn’t been remade already?

I didn’t get an original Switch oled and I won’t be getting a Switch 2 oled. I’m sure the difference will be prominent but it’s not enough to get me to shed $550-$600 (guessing by how the original switch oled was priced) on a new console.

They look great but I don’t have $100 USD to spend on Super Mario games :/

I hadn’t heard of any of these before now but these are all cool! If I had to choose I’d get Dotstream or Boundish. It’s shame that they were Japan only.

I hate when companies force players to purchase the game again without an upgrade path (which is why I’m not getting Sonic Frontiers Definitive), but forcing them to buy the game again AND restarting? That’s just insult to injury to anyone who played on the original switch and wants to upgrade.

@Anachronism Yeah, shortly after I got my Switch 2 I bought like five digital games on sale and I’ve only finished two or three. You definitely make a good point.

Reading through the comments and I can’t believe people are willing to just skip games just because they’re GKC. While I prefer a full game on a card, digital is completely fine with me and shouldn’t limit what you can enjoy. Whether we like it or not, gaming is heading towards a digital future.

I’ve never played Stardew Valley but I WANT THAT CHICKEN.

Downloaded and played the first 2 discoveries (the flower dudes and bees). Good game so far and Yoshi’s animations are great in this game. Will finish the rest of the demo tomorrow.

EDIT: The demo is short but sweet (three ‘levels’). It’s a good addition to the Yoshi series. I will probably pick this up near Christmas.

I haven’t played recently, but I have fond memories of waking up and checking the shop first thing in the morning, and then grinding for certain characters (I’ve never been big on spending money in games). This will be a very sad day for me when it closes.
