Re: Talking Point: As Sony Bins Physical, How Long Until Nintendo Follows Suit?

AGuyWhoLikesNintendo

This is super sad. Not only does this guarantee the PS6 won’t come with a disc drive (if one at all) but it also shows where gaming is headed. We’re going to eventually be forced to pay a lot for SD cards and hard drives to store our digital games, which will only make things more expensive. On top of the rumored $1000 PS6 price, this is not looking like a bright future for PlayStation. I hope Xbox and Nintendo do not follow suit and continue to produce physical game discs/cartridges.

Re: Best Sonic Games Of All Time

Here’s my top 5:
#1: Sonic Frontiers
I thoroughly enjoyed Frontiers on switch 1 (yes, even with the bugs). The open world was awesome and then you had the cyber space levels that go back to 2D and 3D linear platforming. I will get the definitive edition for switch 2 if it ever goes on sale below $30.
#2: Sonic x Shadow Generations
I had always wanted to play Sonic Generations (I almost got the 3DS version not long before SXS Generations was announced) and this exceeded my expectations.
#3: Sonic Superstars
The chaos emerald powers were a great mix to the familiar 2D side scrolling that Sonic fans are used to.
#4: Sonic Mania
I actually didn’t enjoy Mania at first, but that was because I wasn’t familiar with how retro Sonic games were. I quickly warmed up to it and now will play through the game just for fun (although, isn’t that the point?).
#5: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Genesis)
I played through the game on NSO, and it was a great adventure! The music was phenomenal and the levels were the right amount of easy but difficult. Just don’t talk to me about the final boss(es).

Re: Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World Comes To Switch 1 & 2 This December

The only mechanic that was shown that differentiates it from Pokemon is that you can combine two monsters together to form a more powerful one (which is this game’s way of evolving it looks like [I’ve never played the Dragon Quest Monsters series so I don’t really have a say though]) so a hard pass for me. It is nice to see this game get a switch 1/2 simultaneous release though.

Re: Reaction: A Direct That Picked Up Pace For A Breathtaking Finish

AGuyWhoLikesNintendo

This is the most disappointed I have been after a direct. While this is mainly due to lack of games I was interested in, the ones I were interested in were letdowns. The Pokopia announcement was nice but $35 for 3 new areas? I already spent $70 on the game itself! The DK challenges were nice but it sucks they’re limited time only. Sports resort is not worth it considering most are just recycled from Switch sports. We were given zero information on OoT besides a vague 2026 and I’m slightly annoyed that Minecraft for switch 2 doesn’t have an upgrade pack. It’s not that it was a bad direct, there just weren’t any announcements I was hoping for.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch 2: Year One - Looking Back, How Would You Rate It So Far?

AGuyWhoLikesNintendo

While the first year might not have had the blockbuster Nintendo classics people wanted (ex. 3D Mario and Zelda), it’s still worth it in the long run. For $450 (soon to be $500) you can play better switch 1 games as well as switch 2 exclusives. I’ve enjoyed every Nintendo Switch 1 and 2 game I’ve gotten since I got the console (yes, I even enjoyed Welcome Tour) and if you’ve been on the fence and can’t decide if you want it, you should definitely pick it up.

Re: Review: Pokémon Game Music Collection: Game Boy Jukebox - A Pointless Trinket Even Fans Will Grow Bored Of Swiftly

@Smithicus I wouldn’t say they were terrible, just questionable. I enjoyed the Drag x Drive demo (I didn’t enjoy it enough to pay $20 for the full version though) and Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour isn’t bad, it’s just weird that they decided to charge extra for it (after playing through it I have to say $10 isn’t terrible if you enjoy learning about the tech and like the mini games). I haven’t played Metroid Prime 4, Pictonico, or Everybody 1-2 switch, but from what I see, they aren’t bad games. You just have to be in the target audience (ex. Pictonico is essentially a mobile Wario Ware game).
