The last time I played this series was the psp or vita. I felt like it got waaaay too in depth with customization options and choices that modified all these stat bars. I just wanted to play golf.

I wish they’d just sell those joycon grips separately. I’d love to get them.

Is this switch 2 enhanced? Or just switch 1 being made functional?

When I first start playing handheld the screen always seems too blurry and difficult to see. Especially when rotating cameras in games like hogwarts. But after a few minutes I get used to it and am fine. I’d have preferred an oled but what we got is still pretty good imho.

Personally id have been okay paying 50-100$ more with a slightly different build and an oled screen (if that’s what it would have taken to get one). I don’t mind what we got, to be clear, but I don’t love it like my oled.

@SalvorHardin Hmm. Well in that case I’m gonna have to give it a shot. I would love to be wrong as I’m a huge fan of motion control.

I don’t think the motion controls can be fixed. It would be great if they come up with an accessory that makes it more enjoyable though. Maybe they can even integrate the camera and turn it into a Wii set up with tracking.

I love it so much. And I know I’m asking for a lot, but the only thing I’d want now is some more clear announcements for the rest of the years releases. Especially 3rd party.

That and some more first party Nintendo game updates. Real ones, not just “they play better on switch 2”.

Wwe 2K18 is arguably the most improved game from which 1 to 2.

I don’t have drift but I have a weird springy clicking on the left one when I rotate it around with pressure (not enough to press L3). But I have no issue playing the games. Doesn’t glitch or anything in other words. Hopefully it’ll be okay.

I feel like I played for less than an hour of tears and had 67% (I think). I don’t know if that’s normal or not though since I heard it usually only has 2 hours of play time.

Reminds me of cat quest. I’ll wait and see how it reviews but could be fun with my daughter.

Throw sub zero mythologies in and some QOL stuff like one button fatalities and I’m definitely in. And a super easy mode. When I played the arcade 1up I couldn’t even beat two fighters. How I beat all these games as a kid is beyond me.

How do switch 1 games that aren’t updated look on switch 2 systems? Exactly the same or are we dealing with a DS on a 3ds kind of blurry quality drop?

I think I may finally have to get it. I’m not a big fan of item management and menu based games which this always seemed to predominantly be about. But supporting switch 2 like that is awesome and gets my attention. Plus I feel like I read it has some quick/streamlined gameplay quality of life features added for people who just want to play so that works for me.

Will Nintendo life do a feature on how switch 1 games look running in handheld on 2? I’m curious to know if it’s pretty much the same or if we’re dealing with a DS on a 3Ds kind situation? Not that I won’t find out tomorrow myself, lol.

I’m most curious to see how regular switch 1 games look and play handheld on 2. I always hated how DS games looked on the 3ds, so I’m hoping for something better this time around. 🤞

I’d like to see some new filters on the snes. In particular a smoothing option.

@Medic_alert I’m 99% sure that’s always going to be the case. Basically a switch 1 is now game key card and you get the entire new digital game on switch 2. So memory will still be a big issue, though price and having a physical copy will probably always be less to go that route.

@drypaphmrbro Does it have ray tracing for the switch 2? I wasn’t sure that it does. Just that it is using DLSS. Do you have a source?

I’ve got 5 for it, but 10 is a bit much when I could buy some good complete games for that. It’s a shame that’s not a giveaway for Nintendo online account holders.

@RupeeClock Thank you. I should have clarified that I do know what it is. But I haven’t experienced it in gaming yet (ps4 pro is my most modern console). So when I heard the switch 2 would have it I got excited to see it in action. But then I didn’t hear anything about what games would be using it since then. If cyberpunk will have it, I’m good to go though. That’s one of my pre orders. 👍👍

Out of curiosity, has there been any footage or list of games that use ray tracing with the switch 2? I want to check it out in action but can’t find anything clearly showing it or explaining what will have it yet (or I missed it during my searches).

Finally going to play tears of the kingdom as my first switch 2 game. Lol. I got it day one, had too much backlog to get to it, and when I was ready that report about the 4k back room showing came out. So then I decided to wait until that version became available, which fortunately is just a free update of the one I already had ☺️❤️👍

I’m wondering how complicated it would be for devs to implement a “dock mode” for playing handheld switch 1 games on the switch 2. The idea being switch 1 games can play at the increased resolution and fps that some dock mode games already offers.

@Trauma_Team_Medic That’s what I was thinking as well. But that could be a (hopefully) easy to implement patch. I’m just spitballing it as something really awesome I’d love to see. Hahaha.

Just curious, would a switch 2 have enough power to play switch 1 games in their dock mode settings while in the handheld mode?

I just wish they’d put some adjustments in the Nintendo online version. Namely turning off the grenade/punch blur. Or at least if you die and come back it’s gone.

Could have been a fun release date buy. Oh well.

I would love to see 2&3 get a surprise release like 1 got. Completed with switch 2 versions of all 3 with a resolution bump. 🤞

It makes me so happy to see how much of a positive influence gaming can be on people. Some of my fondest memories of growing up take me back to the experiences I had with my friends/family while gaming. Today it is something that is easily takes me away from the negativity of the world we live in. And having a daughter, I get to experience many things fresh and new with the next generation.

I’d prefer to just buy a switch 2 and all the Microsoft games I’d want on that. Or even just get gamepass on it.

Hopefully it will help encourage me to stop buying every game that I “kind of wanted” because there’s a slight discount on it. Probably over 800 games in my backlog and I only play 4 hours a week I’m guessing. 🤦‍♂️
