Okay Nintendo. Let’s just get this over with please.

I think we will see some awesome first party and some great, “miracle ports” if the hardware rumors are true. Very similar to switch 1 I’m sure.

But my concern comes with the speed at which technology and gaming in general continue to advance now. Nintendo typically likes to run with their systems for a decent amount of time and I have concern about how long it can maintain at its slower pace.

However, if the rumors of delaying switch 2 are that it’s for stockpiling a massive release wave so that it is easy to find, I’m okay with the wait. Most of us would be waiting just as long to find one in the wild if it released now or first quarter 2025 anyway.

I don’t mind leaning into 3rd party for the end of the life cycle, but how about some legacy re releases and remasters sprinkled in too? Mario Galaxy 2 for example? Metroid prime 2 & 3?

How about some new graphic choices? Like smooth or the scanline changes without the scanlines.

I just hope the screen is an OLED again.

It’s a must own for me once it hits $20 or less. Until then, gonna pass.

What a wild, suspenseful ride this has been. I wonder how long til a reveal finally happens. I’ll almost be sad to see the speculation and “reveal” articles go 😂🤣. Almost.

If the system is made and boxed and just waiting to go out the door, can they still develop more for it or are they not actually at the “ready to go” level?

The most accurate sounding rumor to me was that they had already manufactured millions of them so that nobody has issues finding them when they finally release next year.

Please yes. I can’t stand the controls of the new DK side scrollers. I’d love a new game in the SNES vein. Or even an HD remaster if possible of 1-3. The DKC snes trilogy is some of my fav games ever.

Other than the graphic and FPS adjustments, what type of QOL enhancements are there? Rewind or save states? Guidance arrows? Anything like that?

Of all the choices to remaster, this is what the picked. 🤦‍♂️. Even though we were kids, my brother and I couldn’t beat that mushroom jumping level. In Psone and the DC! I’m almost curious just to take it on again, supposing the remaster is actually playable….

I think they should have released a sequel with the new engine first. Then surprise dropped an already finished remake with this updated engine soon thereafter. I loved the game but there’s no way I’m buying this until it’s like 10-15$.

@Banjo- I gotta admit, as Nintendo gamer since 91ish, I do have a void in my heart for never taking on DK64. And I’m sure when it gets added to the switch I’m just gonna at least give it a few hours energy. Will I see it all the way through… I don’t know. But I have to try it a little bit.

DK 94, Diddy racing, and conker please. DK64 I’ve never had an interest in. My younger brother played it and it just seemed like such a slog.

@-wc- Honestly I’m cool with it as long as they actually play well. I’ve had enough different character play with the turtles game so less thinking, more putty smashing works for me. 😂🤣

I’d be curious to follow a timeline where Nintendo and Sony did see the partnership through. Does sega partner with Phillips? Does Phillips become “Sony”? Is it now just Nintendo and Sony vs sega? Interesting to consider.

@cosmograph Thank you so much for the detailed response! I will have to think about it but it sounds like a pretty decent exercise game. I like to mix up my DDP Yoga with ring fit, so adding this into the routine may still be a nice change of pace.

@cosmograph What did you hear about the game? I love home workouts and ring fit in particular I’ve been keeping up with for 4 years. I’m curious about this one now.

I don’t care what it costs or what is released with it, now that they confirmed BC they’ve got my money. I’m just waiting for the reveal and confirmation on how old games run on it to decide what I work on between now and then. Lol

I want a remaster or remake of the SNES trilogy so much. I can’t stand the new ones and their control styles.

I wonder if it would be more profitable to just develop for switch 2 than make their own handheld. Personally I’d love to get their Xbox live or whatever it’s called on the switch 2 as a subscription service.

@LadyCharlie So they play differently? I’ve only ever played the original GB one and I think one on the DS that had a tower or something.

@Nua I always play with hurry mode as well. I don’t think I miss anything in doing that and I can get more game time in with it.

I’d have put resources towards a new game with this engine and then done a surprise “re-release” after that came out for those wanting to go back.

@Mario_maniac Lol. That sounds amazing! I just bought it and will play soon. I jumped on YouTube to see if anyone had a play through and found one. I skipped through it like every 10-15 min just to peep at a few seconds at a time (even that little bit I kinda wish I didn’t so I could be surprised). Looked very fun but I stopped to avoid spoilers of everything. Lol.

I will say that person seemed to have got through the game though so maybe the part you’re stuck in you can check their vid to see if it’s truly broken or if you’re just missing something.

This brings a smile to my face… and reminds me I need to replay it sometime soon. 🥹❤️
