Re: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is Hitting the Wii U Virtual Console Very Soon

@VR32F1END The VC version IS edited from the original. It's a modified version of the GCN port, which is a modified version of the 1.2 N64 copy ("1999 Player's Choice Awards" version), the final N64 version of the game released in the states.

The VC version is the GCN port, with simply a couple more edits. The Fire Temple theme is still the altered version with the Shadow Temple sound effects and the crescent moon and star symbol are all replaced with the newer Majora's Mask symbol. The crescent moon and star symbol can still be seen on the ceiling in Dampe's grave, though.

You want the original version without edits, you're gonna have to track down a 1.0 or 1.1 N64 copy of the game.

@GLA Most grey cartridges (sans the "1999 Player's Choice" version, which are all grey) are version 1.1.

This version fixed the Swordless Link glitch, the final Gerudo Thieve outfit color change (in version 1.0 the final Gerudo Thieve's outfit would change and match the color of Link, depending on which ever color he was wearing at the time), among other glitches.

Not many grey 1.0 cartridges exist out there compared to gold Collector's Edition 1.0's.

Hmmm... Let's see... I own:

1.0 gold Collector's Edition cartridge (N64)

1.0 super rare grey cartridge (N64)

1.1 grey cartridge (N64)

Two-game Master Quest Bonus Disc (GCN)

Four-game Collector's Edition Bonus Disc (GCN)

3D remaster (3DS)

My favorite video game of all time! This will be a day one by when it hits the American Wii U VC. The obsession with this game... Is real with this one...

@scamander It's definitely gone from the American eShop. The $4 discount showed up for me since I bought it last year.

As far as being able to re-download past purchases, that's true the majority of the time.

But I could have sworn some guy on here in the past, stated that he couldn't re-download his copy of the (now delisted) Wii U VC version of Brain Age DS, in the EU.

He said he deleted it and that there was no option for him to re-download it from his download history.

Things like that make me really nervous about my digital purchases.

Dat 30 use limit doe! Good thing my local Gamestop was cool enough to give me two of their demo cards on Tuesday, which allow for unlimited uses and no restrictions.

They also threw in two of the promotional posters as well. Great demo. More than likely buying this.

Too bad I don't own and can't find the FE Amiibo's... Anywhere...
