I wonder how many of these games were marked as “shovelware” on the “better” eShop?

Not bad but for anything above $40 I’d personally rather get something that I can actually play. Obviously means I’m not the target audience for this but I hope they like it!

Game Vouchers were literally the only reason I got Tears of the Kingdom because it was $70 and I refuse to buy games at that price so this sucks. Guess I’m not buying any new releases unless I really want them.

So what’s the point of My Nintendo now? This was perfect for spending at least a little less money.

There just needs to be a ban on AI slop. The Switch eShop didn’t truly get horrendous until games started using that.

Steam used to have a ban but they eventually caved in to AI tech bros who wanted to put lazily made games on there. Even games that look good at first like Liar’s Bar are using AI trash instead of hiring people.

@-wc- There are a lot of devs who work on big games that they don’t care about because it pays the bills.

Not surprised that a game company that partnered with Funko would treat their employees so poorly. Here’s hoping those affected can get assistance in their search for better and more stable jobs.

I know VB Wario Land is ranked so low because it was on the Virtual Boy but it deserves better than that! It’s genuinely in my top 5 (haven’t played Shake It yet despite meaning to because my disc I bought at my local game shop was scratched)

@Zeebor15 It’s a Teen/12+ rated game so just don’t let your kids play? Plenty of kids have non-Nintendo systems so it doesn’t change anything.

Marvel Rivals would be pretty nice on Switch 2!

I honestly prefer thess subscription services with all games available for one price over buying each one separately. It just allows you to discover stuff you usually wouldn’t play otherwise and you won’t feel bad if an old game you wanted to try turns out to not be so good.

That being said let us buy permanent access to each console’s app for a decent price Nintendo!

I hope it gets rereleased too. I prefer this to Nintendo just basically remaking Star Fox 64 again and again.

$350 USD would be amazing. They could have a price cut for the normal Switches and then sell them as “budget” alternatives kinda like what Nintendo did with the NES when the Super Nintendo released from what I’ve heard (I heard it from the Super Mario World Gaming Historian video iirc)

@MrCarlos46 I remember when Nintendo experimented with ratings and reviews on their website at one point during the Switch’s life before removing them for whatever reason.

@DiggleDog The seal of quality literally just meant “this game won’t make your system die”. A lot of bad stuff was still released on Nintendo consoles.

The difference though is that crappy games still took effort while AI generated slip takes literally ZERO effort whatsoever.

Hopefully they're willing to release more premium games that you can pay for once and not have to worry about staying connected online. They could make something really special if they wanted to.

(Also anybody else miss Miitomo? I played it daily so I could get WarioWare Touched on My Nintendo back in the day but I had a lot of fun memories with it and made some friends on there too.)

We did get Kirby Mass Attack, Pokemon Conquest, Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 for the regular DS in 2011-2012 so this doesn't surprise me considering Nintendo's only stopped support right before a successor's release with most of their home consoles and not their handhelds.

I’m surprised that more people aren’t mentioning SNES Mouse support in ghe SNES app being possible with this. It’d be cool if they’d release a SNES mouse that can be used with the Switch and Switch 2 as well, though I imagine a regular USB mouse would work too.

@Jhena CRTs are great. Early last year I hooked my Steam Deck up to one with an HDMI AV adapter and it was really great for games that support 4:3!

Seeing the headline I would’ve thought that the Wii version had turned out like the PS3 version of Bayonetta!

I have HD on Steam Deck and I’ve played about an hour so far. I really need to get back into it though methinks.

I really hope the affected employees can find great stable work. Something needs to change in the industry but the capitalist machine will be there to ensure that it doesn’t.

(I really hope they add Wario Land 1 & 2 as well since we already have 3. I also hope they rerelease VB Wario Land, Wario World, and Shake It! at some point too but it might not happen.)

I’m trying the demo mainly so I can play a version of DKCR that doesn’t have the waggle controls (don’t have the 3DS version)

With how expensive everything is nowadays there’s no way parents are going to buy it if it’s $499. That seems way too expansive even for something like the Switch 2. I imagine it’ll be around the $400 mark but here’s hoping they can make it more affordable (they probably can, but being a corporation means they’ll probably try to nickel and dime us somehow)

Hopefully one of the measures is that they’re actually available! I’m planning on pre-ordering the Switch 2 so I can get one ASAP.

I loved what I played of Metroid Prime Remastered so I’m going with the obvious Metroid Prime 4 Beyond pick. Plus we’ve been waiting for the game for 8 years at this point so it’ll be awesome to finally be able to play it.

Sure, we only get one game at a time when music drops and it’s a bit disappointing. But I actually think the rate that they’ve been releasing game soundtracks on the app has been far better than I thought! I’d really like to see some series get multiple games released at a time though (I really want the Wario game soundtracks to get added. Especially Smooth Moves, Wario Land 4 and WarioWare D.I.Y.)

As dumb as Nintendo is to take it down the filmmakers really should’ve figured “hey, if we ask for money then won’t Nintendo kill our project?”

You’ll never see me defending Nintendo with these decisions (especially since other fan films have been crowdfunded and released for free with no ad revenue), but the creators really should’ve known better.

Imagine playing in a Smash Bros tournament and losing because your character did an Up B at the absolute worst time 😭

@SoIDecidedTo Honestly I think my attention span is just busted at this point since I quit after watching a the whole intro and walking around for a little while. I’ll have to give it another try and actually give it my full attention some other time.

Hopefully they can pull a GRID Autosport and gave GameCube controller support for analog triggers then? Nintendo honestly should just have analog triggers on their controllers by default honestly. They did it during the GameCube era.

@MirrorFate2 Just because you don’t want Ridge Racer doesn’t mean there’s not people who want Ridge Racer. I’m glad Nintendo is putting out some lesser known games on NSO (it’s what got me to try Turok for the first time!)

I get it so that people not knowledgable about games won’t be as likely go confuse them for regular Switch cases but I hope they also make the Switch 2 logo different than just a square. It would be cool just to see something a little bit different lol

Did the 3DS even have a jingle? Sure it had ambience (and music for themes) but that was it I think.

The Wii U had a cool atmosphere but it was slow (REALLY slow at launch from what I’ve heard). I prefer the Switch’s functionality (though themes would be nice).

Might watch for the Switch 2 reveals but I bet this will barely address the “challenges” of the industry and mostly just be “look at this cinematic for this large company’s new AAA shooter/fantasy game”. The Game Awards are pretty much that already but we’ll see how this is.

Huh. Didn’t know you could even do that and always assumed that you had to buy a Japanese eShop card to get stuff from there. Guess I’ll technically be right when this happens.

I just want a Mission Mode I’ll probably barely use and a roster that actually takes some characters from more of the spinoffs instead of filling it up with baby characters and Koopalings (though Baby Wario and Donkey Kong would be neat to see since they actually existed before MK8 in Yoshi’s Island DS.)
