No achievements is a shame. Not important at all but I do wish Nintendo would actually include them for those who want them.

Also no eShop music really doesn’t bug me at all. As long as it doesn’t run like crap like it does on the OG Switch then I’m fine with it.

@ChakraStomps They don’t get paid more. A lot of the money that the company gets goes exclusively to executives who don’t actually do anything but make the anti-consumer decisions we hate. That’s why layoffs happen.

@CriticalHit Most people are fine with the console price. It’s the game prices that everyone is rightfully complaining about.

@Debo626 It really should be escapism but that’s sadly not how the world works when we’re adults with responsibilities.

Then again indies aren’t really affected by this kind of thing so I’m just going to stick with them and the games I already have for the most part. Maybe even entirely if these prices go up even more.

@TheBigK I did already mention this but an important thing to note is that back then people could actually afford to live. Games have remained at $60 for years up until recently so I really don’t think inflation is a good excuse for corporate greed.

@Johnno137426 No, because most kids were asking for PlayStation games instead since they actually had a standardized price and didn’t overcharge you like Nintendo did just because they were too stubborn to not use CDs like everyone else.

You also seem to forget that stuff was actually affordable back then and that the N64 kinda flopped because of a multitude of reasons, including the games being too expensive.

The cocky Nintendo way of saying “we’re greedy because we’re succeeding”. I really hope this situation humbles them and they’re forced to do a 3DS-style price drop.

That’s an insanely good price actually. Very surprising considering how much they wanna charge for their games now. I honestly might just end up buying the TOTK upgrade at this point to keep it forever.

Definitely wanting to get this on Switch 2 since it’s $60 for the version with the currently released DLC but going digital since Capcom is too cheap to fit everything on a cart. They literally have no excuse if Cyberpunk 2077 of all games can do it.

With how much they’re doing for this port $70 actually feels pretty justified compared to other physical Switch 2 games at least. Though maybe that’s just me talking after seeing $80 Nintendo games that’ll never go on sale lol.

@Anti-Matter It looks like first-party games will have the full games on the cart. not sure about third-parties but the only one I know that will have it all on the cart is Cyberpunk 2077.

I’m getting the Mario Kart bundle so I’ll already have that game.

I really want Donkey Kong, Yakuza 0 and Street Fighter 6 so I’ll probably get those at some point.

@rushiosan Most modern AAA games are LEAGUES above that file size. Even ones released around 10 years ago.

This just proves that the original prices were (at least mostly) Nintendo greed. Hopefully Nintendo figures something out.

It seems like you don’t understand that people actually have to pay rent/bills and buy their own food/water/etc. to survive and can’t drop a bunch of money on a shiny new device with overpriced games?

I’m glad I went the My Nintendo route since i’m pretty sure that means getting a Switch 2 preorder is at least guaranteed. Plus since it’s in May I can save up a bit beforehand.

Is it really fair to call these “late arrivals” if they’re going to be playable on Switch 2? It’s not like they released on something like the Wii U lol

Anyone who expected first-party heavy hitters when the Switch 2 direct is less than a week away was kinda asking for disappointment (especially if Nintendo games are the only games they play)

Most of the games weren’t for me but it was still a good Direct! Shadow Labyrinth, Prime 4, Rift of the Necrodancer, Rhythm Heaven Groove, and the new Tomodachi Life look great! (and let’s hope they keep their promise of letting the Miis have gay relationships with other Miis like they kinda did with Miitopia)

Gosh I hope the lead up to launch is as exciting as it was for the Switch 1. Seeing events like this is already really hype.

Anyways this port is pretty cool! I’ll have to check this out after I actually play Balatro proper though (bought it on Steam because a lot of my friends are playing and really enjoying it!)

@LikelySatan I imagine the remake will improve upon its shortcomings and honestly I wish there were more remakes of disappointing games since they definitely could use the potential improvements.

Also there’s surprisingly a LOT of Twisted Metal 3 people active in the fandom now (based on my experience in 2023 anyway)

I used to be really into guest characters in MK, but lately I’ve been feeling kind of bored of them? T-1000 is a great choice and Conan is fun to play despite me not caring about him but I just kinda wish they’d do something new with MK for once. That or at least include VIDEO GAME guest characters instead of characters that are (mostly) from popular 80s movies that NRS staff watched back in the day.

As much as I love Peacemaker and his show I didn’t really care for him as a fighter after my excitement at seeing all the dialogues and references to his show and James Gunn’s Suicide Squad. I think the first Kombat Pack’s guests all being superhero-related contributed to that. Ghostface is easily my favorite guest character in this game since I love the Scream movies and the idea of them being weaker than literally everyone on the roster (except maybe Johnny since there’s three of them and only one of him + Johnny doesn’t have powers here) is just hilarious to me.

I really hope we can get an MK game that actually feels fun and unique instead of just something that looks better visually than the last game. A more stylized game that isn’t focused on being realistic would be great!

We need a “dating app for games” that’s for our games! My copy of Bayonetta 2 on Wii U has been pretty lonely for a while now…

Jokes aside this is a neat app idea. Hopefully this includes niche indie games because I find myself getting way more excited for those than the major releases nowadays.
