Didn’t get a Switch 2 from either Target (forgot there was a boycott because of their anti-LGBTQ and racist policies so that’s why I used it at first), Walmart or GameStop. Ended up just preordering Donkey Kong Bananza from GameStop so I could get something out of this. I’m confident in my Nintendo email showing up in May though.

Aaaand sold out. And they say capitalism isn’t a joke of a system.

@StewdaMegaManNerd They’re AAA game companies. They just want to hoard all of the money they can get and be as cheap as possible.

Every time I’ve seen this comparison it’s been from the kind of Nintendo fans who defend absolutely everything about the company. The Steam Deck is a better bang for your buck imo but these systems have two very different audiences. One being more powerful doesn’t automatically make it better than the other.

Hopefully these have analogue triggers or there’s gonna be a big problem. Some of these games rely on that and it’d be weird to exclude them considering that these controllers go for accuracy.

Does the system feel more stable in handheld mode? (on the original Switch the Joy-Con wobble a tiny bit when attached to the system and it always felt odd whenever playing it while laying down imo)

The article from “This is like Bioshock!” to “Actually this has nothing to do with Bioshock” made me laugh ngl.

Cool ad but the “boomers” line gave me psychic damage and reminded me of the humor in the Wii U commercials.

Also hot take but I hate the name “Super Switch”. It just sounds like something that would lead to a parent saying “don’t you already have a Switch?” (again like the Wii U)

As long as they actually addressed the stick drift issues they got sued over I’m fine with the sticks.

Awesome! Changing the prices of accessories instead is a good trade off since those are optional.

All of these racers remind ne of that one Mario Party 8 minigame where you face a bunch of random Mario characters and enemies.

Also seeing Pirate Wario from Game & Wario as a costume is pretty cool and unexpected!

My 1080p TV still works flawlessly after 5 years but that last TV is way cheaper than I thought a 4K TV would be! If my TV ever craps out then I’d probably consider getting it but it’ll probably be YEARS before I need a new TV.

@MangoMahn Basically you spend $100 for two first-party games of your choosing instead of $120 (or $130 if one of the games is Tears of the Kingdom). I actually used it because of TOTK being $70 so it sucks that it’s not gonna work with Switch 2 exclusives.

@FormerGameAddict Capcom’s probably not re-releasing the cart with these somewhat minor updates. I can’t imagine the updates take up that much space either so I don’t see the problem unless you have zero internet.

Offline versus is a godsend.

Don’t we already have folders? I’m pretty sure we got them a while back on Switch 1.

I really hope Behavior makes a Switch 2 version of Dead by Daylight so that we can have a good portable version that’s made with the battery life in mind! I like playing it on my Steam Deck but I can barely play 2 matches before the battery percentage gets really low.

@ChakraStomps Accessibility options literally just make the game playable to more people though. There’s rarely any wheelchair basketball games out there so what’s the point of forcing the mouse control scheme and alienating players who can’t use it due to a physical disability or something similar?

@OorWullie Hopefully there are standard controls because with a game about wheelchair basketball I’d hope that there’d be accessibility options so anyone could play.

Hogwarts not even showing up in the first category and ranking highly in unwanted makes me happy.

I think the price for the console itself is pretty fair considering its power but I’m so so tired of the “but inflation!!!” defense for everything surrounding the console. I’m just convinced that people ignoring the fact what wages haven’t gone up don’t have to deal with bills or any financial responsibilities and think everyone with a job can just drop $500+ dollars on a shiny new system and games and not have that effect their ability to pay for rent, buy groceries and all of that.

Most people are complaining about the game prices more anyways.

@Lizuka Honestly hearing it explained like that has it make a lot more sense. Being able to borrow and sell the game is neat and hopefully servers shutting down won’t affect being able to download the games (if Nintendo is even thinking that far ahead though).

Still personally getting the digital versions so I don’t need to insert a card every time to play though.

@kevmauldin That’s what I’m hoping too! Though I’m surprised that Nintendo Life hasn’t made an article about the tariff pause considering there’s already multiple about the tariffs themselves.

I’d say the comparison is pretty warranted.

@GrailUK You’re comparing two completely different things. The Wii U was a regular console for anyone to play with its own games. Steam Deck is a handheld PC meant for more “hardcore” gaming that lets you play games not necessarily made for it. That’s why the Wii U was a flop and the Steam Deck isn’t.

(Plus the Wii U was, well, a not very good system as hype as its 2014 lineup was. This is coming from someone who actually had one when it was receiving support btw)

I get that they’re comparable but can we stop actually comparing them? They’re targeting two vastly different audiences. In my opinion the Steam Deck is the better deal but it literally does not affect my decision to get a Switch 2 in the slightest.

@Serpenterror Cyberpunk 2077 is actually on the cartridge. Maybe you mistook it for another game? (I know Street Fighter 6 is one of those key card releases)

I figured it was them after seeing the Treehouse footage. Fitting since they also made Jungle Beat and most of the characters being original also reminds me of that game.

One time I absentmindedly touched my tongue for some reason right after touching Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s cartridge. I quickly regretted it lmao

@ChakraStomps Yes, but they’re not the ones developing the game + other companies who jacked up the prices first constantly have layoffs despite making a lot in sales.

Don’t let companies step all over you. That’s why they nickel and dime us.
