This game is effing amazing. Full stop. If you like beat em ups even a little, you must buy his game. If you're a huge beat em up fan like me (and @ogo79), this game is a required purchase.

Very tempted to get this. I have a soft spot for the NES version (and have the cart, of course), plus it'd just be cool to have the arcade version.

There are really only 2 thing you need to know about Adol:

Also the DK animated series was complete garbage. It made the Saturday Supercade DK series look like high art in comparison.

This has been on my Steam wishlist for a while, but now that it's coming to Switch i should probably look into it more and see if it's worth my time. If so, i'd prefer it on Switch, but Steam sales are usually too tempting (especially since this seems like it might fall into the "70% off" category during the Summer Sale).

When it comes to Whoa! Dave, it's really a game you have to play to understand how great it is. On the surface, it looks like just a throwaway game. But if you're a fan of classic arcade-style gameplay, it is supremely sublime.

Awesome! Woah Dave! is an excellent little game, way underrated and overlooked. I spent way more time playing it than i ever could have expected. Totally buying this day one.

I find it hilarious that virtually every game on my Steam wishlist is now getting Switch versions.

Got a game you want on Switch? Just tell me, i'll add it to my Wishlist, then a few months later ... BAM! PORT!

Bat out of Hell is one of my favorite albums of all time; when i bought it back in high school it literally didn't leave my CD player for 3 months straight. Coincidentally, just a few weeks back i happened to buy a great condition original vinyl LP copy for peak 70s-ness.

I'm not complaining or criticizing, was just curious why, with so many Nintendo-related hack/fan-made games out there constantly getting released, that there are occasionally random articles on assorted ones.

There's already been a fan-made/hack sequel to this game for years ("Oh No! More Zombies Ate My Neighbors!"). Not sure why this random hack release is an article.

Honestly, it's the price point. I know i'm not the only one who was going to buy this until i saw it was more than $10 USD (and i'm the last person to ever complain about pricing on eShop titles).

No, 'twasn't me, though i do have 3 sealed copies in my collection (one (or 2? i can't remember and am too lazy to check) even has a hang-tab), all gotten for drastically less than what the typical going price is ever since the Alamogordo dig.

Everyone is better off waiting for the now-in-development SNES sequel to a certain NES guidebook.

I'll stick to the excellent RetroUSB AVS.

The one real bonus this system has over the AVS is the whole jailbreaking/SD card stuff, but i don't think that's worth the extra $250+ when that sort of stuff can be done on a plethora of other systems and PCs.

#1 - We're about three companies/owners of the brand removed from "real" Atari.

#2 - It's always amazing and infuriating to see how many self-professed gamers have no actual knowledge of the industry as a whole (and the '83 crash in particular), but instead just repeat the same non-truths that just get regurgitated over and over again by half-arsed YouTuber and gamer site "experts". But I was frankly dumbfounded to see such a simplistic comment which is patently wrong in the opening paragraph of this article (and i'll spare my usual obligatory comment regarding the level of short-cut journalism by the article's author; not looking to bark at that tree today).

#3 - Also quite disappointed with many of the commenters here ... just because you're kids doesn't mean you need to be willfully ignorant. Atari, the real Atari (and more specifically, the original cadre of programmers, most of which left to found Activision) was basically The Beatles of the video game industry. Show some respect and educate yourselves.

All that being said, i'll keep my eye on this, but i don't expect much out of it (assuming it ever actually sees the light of day). I expect at best it'll go the way of the Ouya for example — plenty of people get hyped, the system comes out, and the overall reaction is just "meh" because it's just not all that good or even necessary to be on the market.
