Re: Sega Recreates Classic "Genesis Does What Nintendon't" Ad To Promote Mega Drive Mini

For all the rivalry between Sega and Nintendo, the console wars didn't really affect my circle of gamers when I was a kid. If you owned a Genesis or a SNES, that was okay. PS1 vs N64, now there were problems. My brother and I were the only gamers we knew who owned an N64. Everyone else had a PS1 and gave us hell for playing a "kiddie" console. The rivalry continued with the PS2/XBOX/Dreamcast/Gamecube era, though it was mostly online and not IRL. My fellow teenagers found better things to do than play video games, unlike myself. Now it seems like no one cares what you game on unless they want to argue superior specs .

No, but I barely use them. I primarily play with my Pro Controller except for Pokemon Let's Go when I have to play with Joy-Cons. I pray I don't end up with a drift. $10 off already quite expensive controllers was not a good enough discount for me on Prime Day.

Re: Hands On: This $50 Handheld Plays Pretty Much Every Game From Your Misspent Youth

I'm curious if anyone knows the answer or who can point me in the right direction. Is it just a case of "Well the law says..." when people are struck down by the IP holder for passing around bootleg digital copies of an item (books, TV shows, movies, video games, etc) when there is no legit way of acquiring the item outside of the second-hand market where the IP holder does not get a share of the selling price or is it something else? I can understand Nintendo not liking the idea that people are downloading Super Mario Bros. when there are several ways of purchasing the game in 2019, but I've seen other companies issue C&Ds and takedowns for other media items not available for purchase. Ex. Viacom removing old Nick shows from YouTube and torrent sites that are not officially available anywhere under any format, or old Dell and 4-Color comics that have never gotten any kind of omnibus reprint 40-50 years after the initial release.

I've gotten bans from other sites for asking this question and if it violates any ToS, I humbly apologize.

I get being upset at not liking the aesthetics of an icon, I hate it when an ebook decides to update the cover and I preferred the old one, but deleting the game because you hate the icon or it screws with the visual image you're trying to project? This screams the old argument of "who are you trying to impress with your large collection of physical games in this digital age?"
