So if you update to Switch 2 version, wonder if the game cease to work on Switch 1, or will the non-Switch 2 specific additions also be on the Switch 1?....
Hope it doesn't have those hard to evade/unfair obstacles like dock doors that I hated from Fast RMX. Still, will get this once I got my Switch 2 (not yet on sale in my region until later this month - South East Asia). Shinen is the one developer who I have great respect of, they will bring out the best of every console they worked on, ever since the Iridion days...
it's good that this time around, it's coming (at launch) to all popular platform and not just the big N's. If it just the Switch, I have a feeling it will suffer the N's curse, just as Sonic Superstars did, by launching so close to Zelda's new game, it risk being relegated to second choice for the month. And just like movies, games needs to have a big first week to generate buzz and continued sales.
As much as I want to see this come to fruition, the developer should have kept it under wraps until its ready. Then release it in the wild before Ninty's lawyers can send a cease and desist, like how AMSR had done.
The first redout took forever to reach the Switch. To the point that I thought it was already canceled. So if they say 2022, probably will reach the Switch on 2025. For the meantime, I'll go back to Fast RMX to scratch my F-Zero itch...
I don't know what Atari gameplan is, but I wouldn't be surprised if it has to do with NFT or the metaverse. After all, that's what in demand these days...
Nintendo should one big sale, where everything is 0.99, what do they get to lose? It's closing down anyway, it's placate all those game preservationists (at least for a while), and create brand loyalty and they get to make a few chump change.
@AtlanteanMan @Fraba problem is that Namco do not own the rights to Ms. PACMAN. Atgames, yes, that Atgames - notorious for bad Genesis console remakes, owns the right to it...
Hour one buy. Bring the rest of the Castlevanias to the Switch please Konami. Hopefully, Konami's exclusivity for SOTN and Rondo with Sony is a timed one, so that it could be pushed to the Switch soon...
If it because it's running on an emulator, I'll say that's pretty damn good anti piracy. And I salute them for it. After all emulating new releases, means less sales and game publisher will not make games on the platform if they don't recoup their cost.
On the other hand, glitches on real hardware is another story.
This needs to be released on the Switch this year as rumored for if the Steam Deck becomes widely available and is successful, then we could play the whole package for much less portably (not to mention gta v too). Then the appeal for this game on Switch will be much less...
Balan Wonderland shows so much promise, could have been great if it was delayed another year. If only Yuki Naka can do a No Man's Sky and keep on keeping working on it so that it will eventually be the game it can be...
$1 for invincibility. Man, if they had that option in the 80s/90s for the arcade, I would have not to take out a loan for college (and Capcom would be out of business).
As voted but definitely not definitive. Many games like Castlevania 3 and the Contra Series was left off, while games that don't age well like Mario Bros and Ice Climber make the list. Why isn't TMNT - The Arcade game available? The curated list is better than these supposedly voted one which I doubt many voted on...
Probably the worst list of the nintendolife best of series...
Fans of old school gaming should buy this. After all, sales numbers is what matters to Game Publishers. And success of these types of games will prompt these Publishers to resurrect their old properties and handle them with care (Sega and Konami, are you listening?)
Got Capcom Arcade Stadium and the full pack. Happy that Capcom take the extra mile with their legacy titles and not just "Arcade Archive" them like Konami does. And it's way cheaper too.
The world kinda reminds me of the PS game Pandemonium but in a 3d world. The gameplay (as per the video ) feels like Mario64 (or Yooka Laylee), harkens back to the N64 era.
I had hope Yuki Naka would make this game more akin to NiGhts, and it's smooth flying stages than another Mario 64 clone.
Let's hope the final product is better. Kinda like Rodea, with promise, but lacks polish...
At $5, this collections are cheaper than Arcade Archives, which features only one game. Definitely, a no-brainer purchase if you still haven't it in your collection. I bought it at full price and didn't regret it one bit, after all if you want Konami to make more of these, you have to make it worth their while.
The chicken is cuter but the game associated with it is likely to be a stinker (hopefully, Natsume would prove me wrong). Story of Seasons will likely be a better game, but with the lockdown unlikely to repeat (hopefully never), I don't think I can find time to play these time sinks, good or not...
My guess is that it will depends on demand, if enough player keep playing this game after 6 months, they will extend it's availability. After all, this is an online game and if by that time, the novelty had worn off, and you have to wait 5 minutes to populate the 35-slot, then it will not look good on the paid Nintendo online community...
And just like Tetris 99, they might make a paid version with offline CPU opponents and themes (Super Mario All-Stars version)...
Probably keeping it for a future reveal or in-between big new game releases. After all, unless Nintendo has Odyssey 2 in the works, they need another Mario for 2022 or when the Switch Pro launches.
Nintendo game seldom goes on sale and mostly by not much if it does. So I got this as soon as it goes live, after all, four months of animal crossing makes you want to try something new...
They blend in a little of gradius scenery (spewing volcano) and add in Salamander/Lifeforce boss (multisegmented flaming ball dragon). So this is more than an homage to Castlevania but to Konami.
While I loved this game (and its predecessor), I hope their next entry has 16-bit style graphics. And less of the Hachi (Robot) / futuristic trimmings, seems out of place in a medieval inspired setting (at least Aria of Sorrow set the time frame in the future).
8-bit like games that are dime a dozen get 8 and 9s while 3d remakes that takes lots of work/costs and are faithful to the original like this and Panzer Dragoon get 6 and thus sell poorly (at least for Panzer Dragoon Remake), so isn't it surprising that the eShop is flooded with those 8-bit lookalikes...
This is no Fast RMX and can't be since it's more a remaster, but surely deserves more than a 6.
@Kalmaro another Gyroids hater here. If they are around when New Horizons launches, I'm sure my fossil museum will still be half full and not almost done.
