Re: Review: Panzer Dragoon: Remake - Doesn’t Quite Nail The Landing

techdude

@brunojenso agree with you 100%. 3D games that cost a ton to develop are judged harsher while 2d metroidvanias clones are given the pass because they are developed by a single person. Those regularly gets 7s and 8s while a game like this get 6? I completely disagree, while reviews are subjective, I still think this game deserves more than a 6.

Now, ever wonder why many big game companies doesn't want to develop for the Switch? Because their multimillion games are crowded out by those 0.01 or 0.03 dollar games that game the system.

For me, Panzer Dragoon Remake us at least an 8. Sure, it's short, an hour plus game, the review itself said, the hour plus doesn't count the multiple tries to get through it. So it's more than an hour plus game, and personally, I used to play Panzer Dragoon on Saturn again and again even after beating it.

A 2d game might have a ton of stages, but often, they are just reconfigured ones. I personally hate those super hard games that are but a bunch of 2-bit (or 8-bit) graphic stages. So they get tons of supposedly replay value while a game like this get panned for being an hour long...go figure.

Re: Review: Neo Cab - A Memorable, Emotional Ride

@readalie My sentiment exactly. If the game is on Apple Arcade, it's hard to justify purchasing it again on Switch. What you saved from a single or two purchase could buy you a PS4 controller (to use with the iOS device) or an mfi controller...

Re: Random: Nintendo Posts About Mario Enjoying Sunshine, Internet Goes Wild

techdude

It makes sense to do a remaster of Sunshine, given that they did Link's Awakening after Breath of the Wild. A remaster of Sunshine could be done by an outside studio (under Nintendo's supervision) and can be done in less time. Something to keep the Switch buzz going while Miyamoto's team work on the next Mario, which probably is still years away.

Nintendolife shouldn't rely only on press releases only because many games get listed a week late. Arcade Archives are often a week late, and this same website is trumpeting Grandia HD collection's release this week and yet didn't list it.

Re: Nintendo Switch Lite Officially Revealed, Launches This September

I would have gotten a second unit except that you have to buy all your eShop games on the new console as well. If only their policy is like that of the mobile app stores, I would have bought a second or third unit (special editions), but their restrictive policy means no purchase of an additional unit for me...

Re: Nintendo Download: 13th June (North America)

They should edit Nintendo press release and add in games that are already in the eShop and not just parrot Nintendo's announcement. That's why, Arcade Archive is always a week late, and e3 released games will have to wait until next week...

Re: Indie Developer Shares "Bad News" About Publishing On Switch, After Pitching His Game To Nintendo

techdude

It looks like a game made by a novice so I don't think Nintendo will allow that short of it having super addictive gameplay...

Nintendo can't allow every developer to just publish anything or it will flood the eShop with garbage. Sometimes rubbish does get through, but they as gatekeepers try to limit them.

And this site makes Nintendo looks like the villain. I side with Nintendo on this one. Not news worthy of this site.

Re: 3DS System Update 11.10.0-43 Is Now Live

techdude

Since the 3ds will probably get less support going forward, Nintendo and its 3rd party developers should discount their games heavily to get those on the fence to get their games before nobody cares about it anymore. Old games on Steam (PC) get discounted up to 90% or more, developers on the 3DS could too. Sort of a Thanksgiving and farewell gift to all those who supported it through the years.

Re: Talking Point: Why Nintendo Is Right To Be Cautious With Mobile

Tetris 99 would have been a slam dunk, if it's not a Nintendo online exclusive. Limit play time
(come back in 5 minutes or buy tokens) like many online games out there, and they could make lots of money. Depending on their licensing terms, they might have to share some of the earnings with The Tetris Company though.

Re: Sega Will Reduce Number Of New Digital Releases After Facing $17 Million Loss

Guess one way we could keep the Sega Ages line alive is by voting with our wallets. I, personally, bought each and every game of the Sega Ages line even if I am only moderately interested in the said titles (Phantasy Star, Alex Kidd).

But sometimes, you wonder about Sega's marketing... Like when they uses the original US title Lightening Force instead of the Japan title - Thunderforce IV. How many of us, still remember Lightening Force?
