If you were hoping for a little extra from the Capcom Arcade Stadium, you're in luck. It's been announced this nostaglic-packed collection will be expanding with more arcade classics in the future.
More information about these new (but old) additions - including the timing of the release - will be revealed at a later date. Along with this, it's also announced some new features are on the way.
This includes a new "invincibility" mode - allowing players to avoid the dreaded "Game Over" screen. It's also adding a "Display Frames Set 1" - which unlocks 32 title-specific display frames that can be used to customise the digital arcade cabinets.
"Available for all platforms, the “Invincibility” mode will be available on May 25 for MSRP $0.99 and the “Display Frames Set 1” can be purchased for MSRP $0.99."
In addition to all of this, the original Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection add-on game for the Capcom Arcade Stadium on Switch will be on sale for 50% off until 15th May.

More arcade games are welcome. Thnx Cap.
Definitely looking forward to more arcade games from CAPCOM!
The only new feature I want is the ability to buy individual games.
Glad that more games with be added. Games I want are Sonson, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Darkstalkers 3, Pocket Fighter, Super Puzzle Fighter, 3 Wonders, and the 2nd Mega Man arcade game. I doubt we get any licensed arcade games like Marvel unfortunately. Oh, and online play.
Bring on Gunsmoke!
Everything already stated, plus Black Tiger. At a bare minimum.
Pay a dollar for invincibility. This seems both wrong and genius at the same time. 😄
I feel like I "should" be annoyed by such a thing. But if I owned this I could genuinely see myself paying that in order to make it to the end of things like Ghouls and Ghosts.
Please Capcom add AVP on there, I will day one buy it if it's available on Capcom Arcade Stadia.
get Alien vs. Predator on there, please. I don't care how. Just doooooo it.
I have this and I love it but what games will be on there
While I am not necessarily a fan of the nickel and dime tactics for unlocking certain features, at least they aren't expensive.
I really like the price point for game packs as well - I think the price comes to ~$1.25/game if you buy everything at once.
Are you sure this expansion means more games and not just more platforms?
@Ghost_of_Hasashi AVP?
Hmm. What’s that one about
@DrDaisy this is coming to PC, Xbox, and PlayStation as well but later
@anoyonmus See the comment directly below the one you’re replying to 😂
I'd love to see a physical edition of the compilation...
@nessisonett I know what it stands for but what is that game about specifically.
I only watched the movie
I hope capcom keeps doing more of this hopefully
I think they already said that more games would be added in future but it's good to have it confirmed again. I have no interest in invincible mode but the game specific display frames are a great addition. And the 'set 1' part means more frames for each game will be added in future. 99 cents seems a fair price to me.
The one game I hope to see added more than any other, is a game I had never heard of until it appeared on my YouTube feed last week.
Red Earth
It's never received a home port and was quite rare in the arcades.It has some of the best pixel graphics and sprites I've ever seen.
A really solid collection overall. And while i find it a bit questionable to sell an invincibility cheat, at least it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
But yeah, great collection, looking forward to more classics!
Very very interesting
@DrDaisy I would love the NES version of Bionic Commando.
I thought AVP had some licensing issues. So I don't think we will see that game
As much as I hope this collection gets the rest of the games from Capcom Arcade Cabinet, I'd be much more interested in the Darkstalkers series and the rest of the Street Fighter spin-offs. Of course I also want Aliens Vs. Predator, Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, and the Vs. fighting games, but considering the pesky licence issues, I doubt we'll be seeing those any time soon. I wonder how much the C&D license would cost though, especially for bringing back just one game. Capcom did get to bring the Dungeons & Dragons games back for the PS3, Xbox 360 (and One via backwards compatibility), PC, and the ill-fated Wii U though, and considering AVP was put on a different collection, I wouldn't completely rule out possible future inclusions or hopefully individual ports.
Children of the Atom please ☺️
They really did a great job with this. Love that it can be quite a challenge on some games to even get on the board (much like in the actual arcade). Only thing I would change is to keep score attack permanent for some of the games where it’s time attack unless it’s a weekly challenge now.
Cadillacs And Dinosaurs
The Punisher
Aliens Vs. Predator
Marvel Vs. Capcom
Gunsmoke
I'm kinda bummed...I ordered a big, two-player arcade stick for the switch to use with stuff like this but it ended up not working and I had to return it. Can't find any other alternatives for such a thing anywhere.
I'd like Black Tiger, King of Dragons, Magic Sword and Knights of the Round. Maybe Willow too.
@invictus4000 I have a authentic arcade stick that plugs in USB for the switch that is arcade perfect one using Sanwa and the other using Seimitsu.
It's the original Ghosts 'n Goblins add-on game that is on sale for 50% off, not Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection, which is not an add-on game.
Power Stone is always my answer for Capcom arcade titles that need to be ported.
@anoyonmus It's actually very possible.
Bring the performance up to at least Retro Arch level and I’ll plow my money into it
Also Eco Fighters should certainly be there. Performance first, though
@Ghost_of_Hasashi how?
@zbinks damn that sucks
I got that for free before GNG Resurrection came out.
$1 for invincibility. Man, if they had that option in the 80s/90s for the arcade, I would have not to take out a loan for college (and Capcom would be out of business).
@anoyonmus They recently released the Capcom Home Arcade, and that had AVP
@OorWullie Whoa! You ain’t kidding—that game’s gorgeous. What a waste that it’s never been ported to consoles. Wish Sega, Capcom and others would actually dig into their own archives beyond their tired cash cows.
Magic Sword, Gun.Smoke and Saturday Night Slam Masters, please! I won't be so silly as to ask for/demand licensed games like AVP or D&D; Red Earth is basically my "highly unlikely but still possible" wish.
AvP
Both DND games
Willow
UN Squadron
Power Stone 1 and 2
Canon Spike
Those are the first that come to mind for me. A lot of others I want are already in arcade, brawl collection, or other collection
@anoyonmus Capcom is a very big company with loads of money. You think they couldn't get the AVP license for this one game? This is the same company that was able to get Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for Wii to NA, a crossover fighting game many believe would never made it to western soils because of licensing issues but they did it and the game was able to be released for the west. That game had more than 5 license properties (not counting the Capcom side), if they could do that they could easily give us AVP no matter what, that game only had 2 license properties. If Capcom couldn't give us AVP than they are weaker than their former self.
@Ghost_of_Hasashi who knows. Maybe we should wait and see
Blimey! They still have tons of games they could add. I'm sure invincibility mode will be a welcome addition for some
Interested to see what they add; however the performance issues theoretically caused by the decision to use the RE Engine continue to hold me back from picking this up until a potential future sale. It’s a shame that there has been some fine retro re-release work on the Switch so far yet here the desire for those 3D arcade cabinets whilst playing has been detrimental to the games themselves.
I can't wait for all the 30 somethings to whine about the "Invincibility" feature and how gamers nowadays just want their hands held/insta-win button.
@Sabrewing Saturday Night Slam Masters is kind of a licensed game. Except Haggar, every character was designed by the Fist Of The North Star manga writer, and I think he still has some rights to the characters.
@RetroOutcast I used the game genie and action replay all the time on my NES and SNES games as a kid.
@Ghost_of_Hasashi Different license holders have different rules. One license may be very easy or cheap to acquire, while another may be very difficult or very expensive. Or sometimes downright impossible.
@RetroOutcast
I’m in my 40s, I played a lot of these in the Arcades, and I have no problem with people using invincibility. I don’t get all that complaining, I think the ‘git gud’ mentality is incredibly juvenile. Once people have bought the game they can play it how they like.
The PR blurb I’ve seen reprinted elsewhere just says “new content for the release of Capcom Arcade Stadium on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam, including a new "Invincibility" mode... Also Display Frames Set 1”
“NEW CONTENT”
Doesn’t state new games. Just content, before listing the 2 new features. That could be it.
It's probably a pipe dream these days but I'd love to see the two Dungeons and Dragons games
@invictus4000 If you want to play LOTS of games, get the Neo Geo Arcade stick pro, then load up the Hylohack. Get the Magic-NS adapter https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B079B5KHWQ/ to make it plug into the Switch.
Otherwise if you're just looking for a stick to use with the Switch, I'd recommend the 8bitdo Arcade Stick, it's a great bit of kit that works straight out of the box with the Switch.
@Tim_Vreeland
Think Koch Media, who released the stick, actually negotiated for those rights though rather than Capcom. They've never shown any interest themselves, I'd be really surprised to see it TBH. The Street Fighter Anniversary and Belt-Scroll collections would render themselves pointless if any of their remaining games were to appear, so I'd rule those out. Black Tiger, Tiger Road, Last Duel, Gun.Smoke, LED Storm, 1943 Kai, Side Arms, and some of the Darkstalkers are probably best candidates.
@FX102A
Honestly, it's been massively over-stated. To most, there's next to no issue. To those playing at a really high-level it's noticeable, but even then there are some good scores/clears up there.
Capcom could release Alien Vs Predator, The Punisher etc. at full price and people would fall over themselves to buy it
@RetroOutcast @electrolite77 I'm 38 and don't get people's fuss over whether others want to use cheats, let's face it back in the Megadrive/SNES days they were abundant and built into the games, where as today they are paid dlc. My only question is how necessary they are when you have infinite credits anyway?
Overall this package coupled with the Hori arcade stick is just a great time
I guess these old games are too hard for kids these days if they have to add an "invincibility" mode
So they can say they've completed it.. even though they havent really
@Rambler
Used to love LED Storm on the C64, with its 'Smoke on the Water' rip-off on the title screen!
@carlos82 sometimes the old games are designed so you have very little opportunity to escape being damaged. So no matter how many times you rewind, you will still be damaged if you can’t find that very narrow chance of not being damaged.
Bought GnG Resurrection at launch and I don't regret it, stellar remake with tons of replay value. I couldn't get into most of older Arcade Stadium games, though, and the full collection is (sadly) too expensive, making it hard to justify getting all packs. They should have made individual purchases available.
I hope they add Dark Stalkers, Magic Sword, Son Son, Exed Exes, Avengers, Side Arms and Speed Rumbler. Might as well add 1943 kai too just to have all of the 1942 series of games. As a side note I hope they can put the English version of Mercs and Trojan as well.
I’m hoping they will add the Willow arcade game on there. It was actually a pretty fun platformer.
@Bass_X0 Strider is famously a joint ownership between Capcom and Motomiya Kikaku, and he was willing to play ball for this collection along with MVC3 and Infinite. I see no reason another mangaka can't do the same.
@SpringDivorce I’d read that, but when I experienced the stuttering in 1943 I felt unsure dropping 30 squids to unlock the rest of them and decided to wait for either a sale or a fix; which ever came first.
@FX102A
there has been a patch, I'd be lying if I said it was now perfect, but it does seem much better than before. I presume the demo will also be the latest version, maybe give it another spin?
I was waiting for this announcement. Here's hoping Capcom pulls some kind of miracle and releases some of their licensed games. AvP, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, Marvel vs Capcom, etc. I'd also love to see Red Earth which I've never had an opportunity to play.
They better include Mars Matrix.
Also, they should really try to emulate Sega's Naomi arcade board so we can get Giga Wing 2, Cannon Spike, Power Stone 1&2, Project Justice and maybe Spawn In the Demon's Hand.
Please be Red Earth... fingers crossed
I really hope capcom will add darkstalkers. It's a nonsense it wasn't included in the first batch of games...
Also I really hope they'll stop adding street fighter games... we already have the 30th collection... instead red earth please... and I dream on the Vs series but I know is not possible (licenses)
@EmirParkreiner
I'd kill for Project Justice. I'd gone off fighting games by then, but still sunk an ungodly amount of hours into the Dreamcast version. Fantastic game.
I would love to see Magic Sword, Aliens vs Predator, Marvel vs Capcom 1 and 2, Xmen vs Street Fighter, Xmen Children of the Atom, The Punisher, Power Stone, and Darkstalkers!
@anoyonmus AVP is on Capcom Home Arcade
Mars Matrix
Giga Wing 2
Power Stone
Power Stone 2
Marvel vs Capcom
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 – New Age of Heroes
The Punisher
Darkstalkers
X-Men: Children of the Atom
Red Earth
Dimahoo
Three Wonders
Cannon Spike
Project Justice
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs
Gun Smoke
Don't forget, Dynasty Wars and Warriors of Fate are licensed games also (both are based on a little known manga loosely based itself by the Romance of the Three Kingdoms or Water Margin book/s).
