It looks adorable, but I'm not usually a big fan of having to constantly switch through multiple characters in games like this. I'll be interested to see what reviews say about that mechanic and might purchase if the flow of gameplay doesn't seem to be bogged down too much from it.
I’m still hoping for a coffee shop, but these are some big updates! They timed this perfectly, since most people who bought it at launch seem to be getting to the stage where they’ve unlocked all the main features and are just maintaining their island at this point.
If anyone wants a more thorough clean than what a dry cloth can provide, I've had great luck with Windex Electronics Wipes. I use them for my keyboards, phone, game controllers, and Switch system.
@Chlocean Best to just hit the ignore button on that user. A quick look at their profile tells me they'd rather make inflammatory statements that get people riled up rather than discuss video games in any sort of reasonable way.
I have a feeling it'll see a big increase in sales once Switch systems are back on store shelves. I have many friends who wanted to buy a Switch just for this game, and you can't find a new Switch at most stores within 50 miles of my city.
I really wish I would have gotten Ring Fit Adventure before the pandemic hit and prices skyrocketed. Fitness Boxing is great once I actually get the motivation to fire it up, but it's not necessarily something I look forward to playing like I would with a game that has an actual story.
@TAndvig If we're being technical, they do everything for clicks because they have to make money to live and to keep the website running. This article covers a topic that appeals to the site's audience, so it makes sense they would publish it.
Whether or not we should put much faith in leaks would be a more productive conversation.
The lore in ARMS is really intriguing, so I've been looking forward to the comic. This makes me hopeful that an ARMS 2 is in the works. I'd love an actual story/adventure mode in a sequel.
@Bliquid to be fair, I think there are many parents who would take issue with their seven-year-old playing a game that talks about kicking someone's ass. Also, one of the screenshots mentions being "lubed up," and it's pretty clear what it's implying there. Beyond the age rating, many parents could buy this game for their kids because it looks very cartoony and kid friendly.
With that being said, I think the game looks like a lot of fun. I've been wanting to play a dungeon crawler ever since I played the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon demo.
While I'd like to see all the starters in the game, I'm glad they at least added in the rest of the Kanto starters. Having only the Charmander line without Squirtle and Bulbasaur felt really weird.
I actually had tremendous fun with Happy Home Designer. I loved being able to set up/decorate buildings other than houses, which I'm hoping will be implemented in New Horizons as you develop the island.
@Smashfan502 villagers will eventually move out if you let them or ignore them, and part of the fun is seeing who will move in to take their place. I suppose it’s kind of like the thrill of a loot crate without the micro transactions.
@Xylnox assuming this game is like the previous entries, only a certain number of villagers can live in your village (or island, in this case) at a given time. The last few entries have capped that number at 10 and each one has their own house.
This game actually makes a lot of sense to speedrun when you think about it. I just hope people aren't hurting themselves with bad form when they speed through the exercises.
Wow, I'm feeling old. I remember my mom showing me an advertisement of the games in a newspaper before they released. Lugia's been my favorite legendary ever since I saw the cover art of the games in that ad.
I understand the qualms people have with some of the decisions made for these games. But I think if people are truly that upset, they should speak more with their wallets rather than their keyboards.
At the same time, the producer’s comment that future games will leave out some Pokémon makes me feel like they’re not open to feedback/constructive criticism at all. As a fan since the beginning, that’s discouraging.
I hate that so many of these neat-looking third-party controllers are wired. With how light the Switch is (even when docked), one wrong tug could send your console flying.
At least in the U.S., Walmart has had first-party Switch games at $50, so I'd rather do that than buy something that could expire due to my forgetfulness.
Beautiful work, makes me want to go back and play LeafGreen. I'm loving how it looks like the Slowbro is waiting for a snack to fall out of the vending machine.
@Itzdmo
The amount of dialogue in AC games is insane, so I'm sure the localization process alone takes a lot of time to make sure everything is of quality.
It'd be a bit ironic for them to work their employees into the ground while making a game that's all about leisure and relaxation. I'm glad they made the decision to delay the game; I'm sure we'll get better writing and gameplay because of it.
I'd definitely need to see some actual gameplay before passing judgement, but hopefully this game will scratch that Kid Icarus itch I've had ever since beating Uprising all the way back in 2012.
@MegaVel91 While the argument can certainly be made that they're "flat," I think Team Rocket actually makes a fair amount of sense compared to any of the other villainous teams in the franchise. They're just a gang that wants to profit using Pokemon, and if Pokemon were real, I don't doubt that such people would exist.
@Reigestugatensho All joking aside, I’d actually be stoked if Prof. E. Gadd made the cut. If they can make a legless character like Piranha Plant work, I feel like they could do something really fun and whimsical with E. Gadd! 😄
The ice cubes in my Joy-Cons must’ve melted, because I’ve not yet played a game that seemed to take advantage of the HD rumble feature. Glad this game is using it, though!
@123akis I definitely agree that the second player looks awful, but adding Mario would cause a pretty huge plot hole!
Personally, I wish they’d just have added in a regular-looking Luigi with a different colored hat. Or even Daisy would’ve been neat, and it’d give her something to be in that’s not a sports game.
The award system is a creative solution to the problem, but I feel games that don’t get the “recommended” or “essential” labels will be viewed the same way that a 7/10 or below score gets treated in the minds of many readers.
I can definitely vouch for the realistic nature of this game—my parents own a goose (fondly referred to as their guard goose) who likes to chase my dog and me when I visit.
@Andrew5678 I'd be a little disappointed if they didn't give Springtron his shockwave move, since it's pretty much the only thing that sets him apart from Spring Man. But I think making him heavier, slower, and more defensive than Spring Man would still work pretty well.
While I’m desperately wanting some ARMS representation (think of the echo fighter possibilities!), I kind of hope they take it easy with the DLC this time around. Hoping Spring Man gets announced soon!

That's a really fun idea, I'm surprised he didn't put a Red sprite on top of a two-story cliff.
Re: Guide: Where To Buy Ring Fit Adventure For Nintendo Switch
Already sold out again, not even 10 minutes after this article update. Crazy to think people are selling it for as much as the Switch itself costs.

@Mijzelffan Is it? The headline doesn't read in a sensationalized or misleading way to me.

Haha but wouldn't being binary limit it to two things? Maybe the non-binary dungeon, or, better yet, the non-conforming dungeon.
