Love my GBA SP, but I think the DS Lite’s sleep mode when you close it makes it a better portable all around.

I’d like to see Paper Mario along with a Paper Mario-themed course.

A relatively recent one for me was the last boss fight in Bug Fables. I loved the game to death, but the difficulty spike with the final boss seemed to require going back and doing a ton of level grinding. I unfortunately never had the energy to go back and beat it.

I feel like replaying BOTW would burn me out on long/open world games for a while, so I’m not going to replay it right before TOTK.

Does this mean it’ll take even longer to join raids since I can only join with others who have Scarlet?

Honestly shocked to see Slither Wing poll so high.

Tera raids are fun, but I’m really tired of the enemy Pokémon’s health bar reaching zero multiple times before they finally faint.

@Dragonite89 and on top of everything you mentioned, most of the new Gen 9 Pokémon’s shiny forms are barely any different from the regular forms. Very hard to spot in the overworld.

I’m somehow only just now playing through DK Tropical Freeze (despite owning both a Wii U and a Switch), and man Autumn Heights put me in the fall spirit earlier!

I love how they’re giving so many underrated Pokémon the giant plush treatment and not just the usual favorites like Charizard.

I’ve been playing Tunic. It’s beautiful and fun, but man I’m not used to games with that level of difficulty these days.

Super Mario Sunshine, something about the music and environments immediately put me in a good mood. Easily my favorite Mario game.

Why did they give all the Pokémon a unibrow/forehead wrinkle?

Kinda reminds me of how Luvdisc and Alomomola look really similar but aren’t related. But in my head, Wiglett still feels like a regional form.

Sounds like it combines elements from a lot of my favorite games, and the gameplay looks decent. I just hope the environments in the game have more variety than what was shown in the trailer.

@Lony85 Splatoon 3 will need some Smeargle and Grafaiai skins so we can have them compete.

I played Pikmin Bloom for a few months and enjoyed the cuteness of it all. But at the end of the day, there’s just not enough to do in the game and everything feels pointless.

A “special Sega game” would be a clever way to hint at a Segagaga remake/sequel.

Hopefully all that open space has room for the Chao Garden to make a comeback, that would increase my play time a ton.

I’ll have to see the other version-exclusive Pokémon before I decide. I don’t use legendaries much, so those aren’t really a deciding factor for me.

Console-wise, definitely the 3DS. It was just a fancy system for me to play all my DS games on for way too long, but it’s thankfully one of my favorite consoles of all time now.

Game-wise, Mario 3D All Stars is the first to come to mind. All the news about it being a limited release made me think I had to preorder it or miss out due to scalpers and such. And I’m STILL seeing it on store shelves to this day.

It’s impressive, but all I can imagine is how awful it would be to play this with the screen size of the original DS and DS Lite lol

I really like the second pic, she looks floaty which fits really well with her ability to float in some games like Smash Bros.

I voted for North America mostly because I can’t decide whether I like the Japan design. It almost feels more like teaser art for an upcoming Mario Golf game than it does the game’s actual box art.

I sometimes forget the Link’s Awakening remake exists, but now I have the urge to go back and replay it. Such a satisfying game to play.

I can’t stand how companies try to make everything into a subscription service these days. They like to claim it’s for your convenience, but it’s mostly just for all the extra money they make from people who forget to cancel.

There’s really no point in trying to have some sort of timeline for a game like Kirby or even Zelda, in my opinion. It just limits what they can do in future games if they’re always trying to piece things together between games.

I remember my mind being blown that I was playing a game like this on a handheld. I never understood the hand cramp complaints until I tried replaying it using a 3DS XL—holy cow was that uncomfortable!

I wouldn’t mind personally. It made sense in Legends because catching the same species over and over is necessary to complete the Pokédex. But I absolutely hope the seamless transitions between battles and overworld become a series standard.

@Funneefox I agree, the beginning is pretty rough with how unforgiving it is. But it gets SO much better when you’re past that part.

I’d rather they hold off on doing anything with Raikou, Entei, and Suicune so they can save them for a Pokémon Legends: Ho-Oh down the road.

I’ve always wanted to play this, but it’s never been high on my priority list. Super excited about this!

@valcoholic if you liked TTYD, you’ll like this game. TTYD has a bit more of a grand plot while PM64 follows a more typical Mario storyline, but both have similar gameplay mechanics and fun partners.

I’m extremely tired of the drip-feed approach they take with every console generation. Paper Mario 64 is one of my favorite games of all time, but its NSO announcement didn’t excite me at all. I’ll just fire up my Wii U if I want to play it.

I remember being so confused the first few times I played online and saw half the other players purposely driving off a ledge.

Kind of wish I’d have cloned a few evolution stones before I used them, it’s so hard to find some of them.

Wow, it only lasted about two years. I’d be pretty angry if I had spent any amount of money on this game.

I went ahead and downloaded Mario Party Superstars even though I usually buy physical, and I’m so glad I did. It’s fantastic and will be great to have ready to play when I have people over.

@Yosher the comments in these old articles have been a trip down memory lane, it’s fun remembering people who used to be regulars and seeing people who still comment today.

I’ve always felt this game was created with kids in mind, so I don’t view the hand-holding and lack of difficulty as a negative. I was really young during the N64 era, and this was one of the few games where I remember being able to beat the story mode.

I’m kind of surprised they didn’t tweak the controls if it was such an issue in the past. Like they could’ve made it so players have to press A, B, Y, and X in a circular clockwise motion instead or something.

They either fainted, or Spinda just used teeter dance on them all.

I feel like the next Smash will really shake things up now that we’ve gotten the ultimate version of what we currently know as Smash Bros. I personally wouldn’t mind the roster getting scaled back if it meant beefing up other parts of the game, like the single-player campaign.
