Re: Talking Point: Could Nintendo's Game Design Prowess Solve Discoverability Problems On Switch eShop?

shani

I totally agree, the Switch eshop is super sluggish and a UX nightmare.
The Wii U eshop was waaaaay easier to navigate in comparison, which says a lot.

But then again, the Switch's main UI is also terrible, whereas the Wii U's home menu offered folders and customization.

It's weird how Nintendo made so many steps backwards with the Switch (others would be: lack of Miiverse/message system, browser and video apps).

They could easily just take a page out of the UI's and online shops for smartphones, or just build something similar to what the Wii U had, or come up with something new and really good like the article suggests.

Just end this nightmare already, the Switch's UI is a desaster.

Re: A Revised Nintendo Switch Pro Controller Has Been Spotted In Stores

@ryancraddock
Um, you do know that the d-pad on the Pro Controller has a flaw (misfires in the wrong direction - especially noticeable in BotW - there are tons of videos about it) that Nintendo fixed in all special edition Pro Controllers?
This is probably just the same fix for the regular Pro Controller.
And it was long overdue.

Re: Nintendo Download: 10th October (North America)

shani

So strange that the title says 10th October even though most of the (exciting) games in that article won't be out on that date yet (and this time it was obvious, everyone knows OW and Witcher 3 come out mid October and yet Tracer is on the article thumbnail).
NL keeps doing this again and again.

Re: Deals: This 400GB Micro SD Card Is Cheaper Than Ever And Perfect For Your Switch Lite

shani

Whaaaaaaaaat?!
But it doesn't say 'Nintendo Switch' on the card and it doesn't cost a fortune!
I thought NL only promoted overpriced microSD cards with a Switch branding on them!
How on earth is NL gonna survive now if they promote these cheaper cards and get smaller fees from their affiliate links?!
Quick, everyone go buy those super expensive microSD cards from previous advertisement articles to save NL!

Re: Video: How The CPU Used To Cheat In Street Fighter II

shani

This is not specific to fighting games, this was common in old games in general. Mario Kart would be a prime example.

Luckily, game design evolved a lot since then, CPU enemies don't need to cheat anymore nowadays, they are just better designed.

Re: This New Device Lets You Use Airpods And Other Bluetooth Headphones With Your Switch

shani

@nintendolife @ryancraddock

Are you guys being serious right now?
That kind of device has been around for a long time... this is nothing new.
And I'm not even talking about Genki (which is heavily overpriced and totally unnecessary too).

I'm talking about this device: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07H2RH5CJ/

I got it about a year ago and it's perfect. No noticeable latency, works in handheld, tabletop (on my Hori Playstand), docked or even on my PC/laptop.
I'm sure there are lots of other devices just like it.

The device shown in this article is waaaaay too huge in comparison.

Re: Nintendo Switch Has Now Sold 36.87 Million Units, Could Pass SNES Total By Christmas

shani

@nintendolie While I totally agree with you on the decrease in build quality - and I said from day one that the Joycons are a really cheap product and it was confirmed by tech-savvy Youtubers long before any talk of Joycon drift - it won't really hurt Nintendo's sales numbers. Their customers are mostly not tech-savvy, most have probably never heard of Joycon drift. It's still sell like hot cakes even though it's a cheap product. It's basically Apple's strategy - sell s****y products with huge profits.

Re: Rumour: Multiple Witcher 3 Listings For Nintendo Switch Appear Online

shani

I don't see why it would need more performance.
GTA V (to take a title of similar scope) ran on the Xbox 360, and we all know the Wii U was already slightly more powerful than that, and the Switch is even more.
It's just a matter of optimization and how scalable the games was originally designed.

Not that it will look good on the Switch, but I guess the Switch's audience doesn't really care about that.
