Bulletstorm Just Blew Up On The Switch eShop, And Here's What It Looks Like

Gotta admit , with Duke, this is lookin' tasty. And, at last!, a publisher who knows how to price an older game on Switch. Hope it plays well.

More FPSs on Switch is good. I don't know much about this one though.

I think this game looks and performs great on the Switch, but sadly I don't think much of the actual game though. I also think they must have released this on every platform by now, even some toasters!

i was about to get rad rodgers for this exact reason ! Will sleep on it waiting a review. Duke nukem will shine again, somewhere, someday...

@suikoden 25 quid is a tad on the pricey side. 15 and I may have bitten.

I was keeping an eye out for a physical release for the longest time. I guess TakeTwo Interactive thought this wouldn't sell well enough to justify a physical release. One less game I'll feel inclined to buy I suppose.

Physical release imminent?

This is one of those "down the road" games for me. I want to play and it probably will, however am in absolutely no rush to do so. A year or two from now when it drops to $9.99 or something I will pick it up and prob enjoy it quite a bit.

But does it have gyro aiming?

It's a solid 30 fps in performance from the youtube video's uploaded if anyone is wondering... I'm tempted to get this I have to say, but really need to see a couple of reviews first. Bulletstorm was great on the 360 a few years back....

Really would like to see this as a physical release.... Although with this sudden e-shop release I don't think it will get one.

I'll wait for a physical release. Even if they don't issue a wide release, I'm sure LRG (or someone else) will eventually jump on the bandwagon.

Wow! This was an EA published game on the last generation!
Are they publishing another game for the Switch or did someone else do it?
Is this a remastered version or is it 720p only, like on the X360/PS3 duo?

If this is a good port then this will be the best (not original 90's Doom) FPS on the Switch. Easily better than Wolfenstein, Turok or Doom 16. The Duke Nukem stuff is just meh and lazily tacked on but the main game is truly fantastic.

@Bizzyb Yes, my thoughts exactly. Weighing in at 9.4GB it would need to release on a 16GB card to not require any download.. I can't see that happening.

Seems to be a great port! Hardly any load time, performs great in handheld mode too!

I think crazier things have happened in the last two years. We just need to resist now and wait a few months. I'm pretty sure someone will grab this one and release it physical for 10 bucks more.

@GrailUK @BulkSlash There is no gyro aiming unfortunately which has put me off from buying it this weekend. Developers should really know by now, a Switch Edition FPS must have gyro. Hopefully it'll be patched in, if not I'll just hang off until it's on sale. It is the Remastered version though, so that's good.

Bulletstorm was one of my favourite shooters of the last generation. Such a fun game

Just bought , graphics are amazing and plays really well .but no multiplayer, just the campaign ?, maybe they will add in an update

@OorWullie Thanks for info. No gyro controls for such good Duke game, not buying this for sure until it is patched for gyro controls if that never happens, I have Wolfenstein and it is great game and it has gyro controls.

$30 for an 8 year old game with no online multiplayer? Are you F'n kidding me? Shame on Nintendo for not regulating the prices of these scheming capitalist gaming companies. And shame on all of you that tolerate this capitalist price gouging. So yeah the game looks good but I refuse to get ripped off.

Looks good but too many cut scenes for my liking. Much prefer a Goldeneye style fps over this dialogue heavy game. Might bite when it goes on sale though.

This will be on my list to get down the line as I missed out on the original release. The price doesn't bother me because sadly when you are incarcerated you miss out on your favorite past time. So these rereleases are a blessing for me personally because I'm getting another chance to play these great games for less than the original cost and on a Nintendo console.

Played it for the last two hours as the Duke! What a blast! Just the blurring effect is stupid, but Wow! What an action pack! Time to kick ass and chew some bubblegum!

It is only $29.99 in the US eShop, it is significantly more expensive in the CAD eShop...

@Indielink That price only applies to the US storefront. That doesn't represent the entire continent. So it is misleading to say North America when that only applies to one country.

Might grab it when it’s half price. Enjoyed it on the Xbox 360 but I already have it digitally there, or can get the remaster for my Xbox One for less than this.

@SenseiDje Rad Rodgers is seriously disappointing, save your money. I bought the Switch version for the exact same reason, thinking I could get some passable Duke action. Alas, I spent 3 grueling hours with it and it proved to be a completely uninspired slog along with being a pretty messy Switch port.

very addicting and fun gameplay, also some awesome moments.

only thing thats starts to iirritate me is that nintendo makes it difficult for developers to make it physical.

Yeah literally just the base game and the Duke nukem dlc. .was really surprised as its advertised as having everything...maybe they will add as an update in the future...game wise though really impressed ( even though I have really bad drifting on my left joycon )

I love a fun fps but I really want one with multiplayer, so a pass on this from me, even if the bro humour is deeply nostalgic.

@Damo Bulletstorm is $40 in Canada, not $30. Canada is part of North America.

Awesome! I had tons of fun with the great mechanics this game offers.
The way you can use your leash and chain together combos is really unique... I wish more games would copy it.

Now I’m just wondering if the Switch version has motion controls or not. If it does, I’d buy it again.

I owned this game back in the day when I had my x360. I think I bought it for like 10-15 EUR sealed and sold it for 5 EUR and that was like 5 years ago.

@Lord Who cares about the story in Bulletstorm when it have some of the coolest mechanics in any FPS ever?

It's a one of a kind FPS which badly needs a sequel.

The saddest part about the rerelase of this game was that while the original was a fun if derivative romp that made you think "hey, this is the best unofficial Duke Nukem game since I don't remember when!", adding Duke Nukem to it actually made it worse as he's shoehorned into the story awkwardly, most of his lines suck ass compared to what the original dialogue does for the same scenes and I'd honestly more eagerly accept that the Duke is dead and prefer all future games inheriting his title to star Bombshell.

I'm so simple-minded... have Three Houses and Astral Chain on hold just because this is such a great simple cool as hell shooter.
