If you picked up a brand new, shiny Nintendo Switch Lite over the weekend, you'll likely be eating through that measly internal storage of 32GB as we speak. Of course, the easy solution to this is to buy a nice big micro SD card and download games to your heart's content.
We've rounded up lots of options for the best micro SD cards in our handy guide, but we had to draw special attention to Amazon UK's deal of the day on this Sandisk 400GB micro SD card, which is now only £52.99. The lowest price ever according to CamelCamelCamel.
Given that this mighty micro SD card cost £228.49 last year, it's crazy how much the prices have come down since that time.

I bet the extra sales it had thanks to the Switch people were forced to get those. I bet the company saw some good sales and decided to make these even cheaper. And I bet Nintendo get some money from them as well. Because they are forcing people to get SD anyhow. A great smart marketing stuff... thank god i saw right through them but hey good for me as well now. Will take advantage and put it in my mobile buhahahaha THank you Nintendo buyers
Already filled up one of these bad boys. I need that 1TB to come down in price.
I'm good with my 512gb for $64 thank you.
Bought! I needed one of these (I suppose) maybe
@klingki It’s slowly but surely coming down. Last week I saw it for near $450 and now it’s $389.99. I intend to get one or two (multiple switches) by the time Pokemon comes out (or buy the second one around the holidays)
Amazon sells fakes. Be careful. One I bought two weeks ago looked completely legit, but would only hold 28gb.
Double check the seller. If it’s “Ships and sold by Amazon” you are highly likely to receive a legit product.
@Alucard83 lol you think a dwarf company like Nintendo has any grip over a megacorp like Western Digital? You tinfoil hat guys need a reality check.
Wow, judging from that picture the new Switch lite surely is tiny! How do you even insert that memory card in it?
😬
@Alucard83 I can send you my bank account details. You can send the money for all your lost bets there. I bet it's a lot!
In order to transfer data to another SD card, do you still need to do it via a computer?
@Trajan. There are plenty of bogus cards on Amazon, but the "Amazon Choice" Sandisk are absolutely safe. You don't have to get ripped off by brick & mortar companies.
I try to give brick & mortar and my local business when I can, but not for micro sd gouging.
Just picked one up last week actually! Can't wait for it to arrive so I can re-download all of my games 😂
@Woomy_NNYes this was through prime too.
I've always bought my cards off amazon, I'm just saying it seems these 400gb cards are being faked enough that Amazon itself is selling them.
Is it hard to transfer all the data from one MicroSD card to another and have it all work?
@Trajan
Yeah, there's no quality control to qualify for Prime shipping. That's true. But the select few products labeled "Amazon Choice", those are Amazon's flagship products. They don't put that "Amazon Choice" label on sketchy sourced products.
@DrDaisy It's easy. Just turn off your Switch (all the way off, using the power down feature), take out the old SD card, use a computer to transfer the data from your old card to your new card (it should all be in one folder called 'Nintendo'), then plug the new card into your Switch and turn on the power. You should see all of your games, media, etc. immediately.
@Zequio
Either that or that micro SD card is the size of a floppy disk.
@DrDaisy
Like AlphaElite said.
Check your manual if you're nervous about it. Its pretty simple to do. If you're still nervous with the manual, you can call Nintendo Support. They're super nice, if you have questions.
@Alucard83
Hahaha. You’re really stretching there. A bizarre theory.
I got a 512gb card in my Switch. Got it for $51 on Amazon Prime Day. Tho, it's already almost full. Only like 30gb's remaining on that card. Will need to upgrade to a 1TB card soon, tho, I'm positive that I'll end up filling that card too.
Whaaaaaaaaat?!
But it doesn't say 'Nintendo Switch' on the card and it doesn't cost a fortune!
I thought NL only promoted overpriced microSD cards with a Switch branding on them!
How on earth is NL gonna survive now if they promote these cheaper cards and get smaller fees from their affiliate links?!
Quick, everyone go buy those super expensive microSD cards from previous advertisement articles to save NL!
Always check the seller. If it’s like this one, Seller:Amazon, Shipment:Amazon it’ll be fine.
With these frequent sales, I keep being tempted to upgrade from the 200gb card I'm currently using. But I still have about 80gb wiggle room left on top of the 20gb or so of system memory I'm not utilizing.
Chances are, if I hold off on all these sales until I actually need to upgrade for space, then the prices will have dropped even further and the sales will only be more drastic by that time.
Then I update my switch with a 512/TB and my phone gets my old 200gb SD card, and my phone's current 128gb card gets put into my 3DS, and the 3DS's 32gb gets put into my dusty old Wii with Homebrew, and the circle of life continues.
You can get a 512gb Lexar card for £56 from eBay. Sold by a seller called Syekoomar. I was initially skeptical but took the plunge as he had a good seller rating.
Tested the card to make sure it wasn't fake, and it isn't! Been using it for the past 2 months and had no issues.
Mods: Hope this ain't against the rules, I'm not sneakily trying to promote my own eBay page, just showing the NL community there's a better deal than the one you guys posted
@shani The folks behind the site actually have families to feed. You making it out to be a sin to want to make money!
@Alucard83 maybe? though myself and most people i know don't buy the ones officially sold by Nintendo
though maybe i'm just a tad salty about everything costing crazy amounts for the accessories and games. Its 2019 and Breath of the Wild still costs $79 +tax.

Wow thats cheap ass hel
Deal I plumped for was 512GB (MyMemory's own make) from MyMemory.co.uk ... only £62.99 with LIFETIME guarantee. Very good quality and MUCH better value than the BIGGER brands.
@Desrever Yeah, I really don't need these cards right now. I just hope they don't go back up in price for when I do need them.
I just got one. I don't recall the size I originally got but I know it was near full.
@AlphaElite @Woomy_NNYes
Thanks. I was asking because there were some extra steps that needed to be taken when transferring New 3DS files from one card to another, like renaming a numbered folder, although that may have had to do with the new card being 64GB rather than 32GB.
@DrDaisy
To transfer from existing card to a new card, all you do is copy the "Nintendo" folder from one card to the other.
But you need to make sure your new card is formatted correctly before you do this. Your new card, may or may not be the right format. Below are links to Nintendo Support for what to do. (I've seen people get heated, or say the wrong things for doing this, so that's why I'm pointing you to official Nintendo directions, to avoid the well meaning baloney that can arise here.) If you do have a question, you're best path is to call Nintendo. Here's 3 links for the Switch: How to transfer to new Micro SD card, Micro SD card FAQ, How to Format Micro SD

That's amazing. I thought I got a good deal when I bought mine last year, but it's so much cheaper now!
I can't wait for the 1TB card to drop to 100 dollars, I'll be getting one then.
I am waiting for the 1tb before I go reloading all my backlogs of games.
@Woomy_NNYes "To transfer from existing card to a new card, all you do is copy the "Nintendo" folder from one card to the other."
Not entirely true. I already did this when going to the revised Switch. I had to get a new 400gb sd card that I had to format and get update to use it and then it formatted a new Nintendo folder. But if you copy and overwrite the new card the new Switch will refuse to use and it will ask to format it. How I got past this was new Switch formatted to that Switch and then copy the saves and some folders from old sd card to the new and not overwriting any new data on the new card. Then and only then will your old saves pics will transfer over correctly. But you will have to go to eShop and user Icon and find and redownload any DLC or extras you had to get started. But you will also have to download updates at the same time as none of that will be on the new card to begin playing again.
I'm glad these are coming down in price. I need one. Lol
@SwitchForce
Dr Daisy has implied they've done a 3ds card transfer before, so they know some things already. While my first sentence may look cavlier, a glance, if you read on, I did continue to say their card needs to be the right format in order to do that transfer. And then I pointed DrDaisy to three Nintendo switch support links for Nintendo's own instructions for the process:
-How to do the card transfer,
-Micro SD card FAQs,
-How to format micro sd.
If there's a piece of the puzzle missing, DrDaisy will be on Nintendo's site to find the instructions relevant to their situation. If there's something you got snagged on, and want to help fellow DrDaisy, you can help them with a link to Nintendo support regarding that issue.
-ha...s-stop teasing me nintendo -i'm broke, and i will do "anything" for this micro sd 😍. I really do want this though, but yeesh that price though -never knew it costed originally so darn expensive.
