Re: Pirated Copies Of Super Mario Party Appear Online, Switch Piracy Concerns Continue To Grow

@Razer @onex

I understand your viewpoint, but ignoring the fact that this stuff is happening doesn't help anyone either. We're hardly promoting the idea - in fact, I think it's probably quite clear from my wording that we don't support it - but you can't just ignore negative news.

If anyone reading this is the sort of person who would actively hack into consoles and download illegal software, I'm sure they will already know all about it long before this article. Reporting on criminal or even slightly shady activities doesn't warp innocent readers into suddenly following suit.

Re: Fortnite Had A Whopping 78.3 Million Players In August, Largest Numbers Ever Recorded

ryancraddock

@diwdiws I didn't attribute it to Switch. Here's what I said:

"Of course, the game's recent jump to handheld and mobile systems will have given these numbers a rather significant boost"

The paragraph aims to explain the impact that handheld (Switch) and mobile devices have had in increasing player numbers in recent times - due to their more recent releases in comparison to PC/PS4/Xbox etc. - and how this appears to be a focus thanks to recent marketing efforts and new hardware products. 🙂

Re: Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee Will Have IVs And EVs, Ditches Held Items And Abilities

ryancraddock

@DanteSolablood @SteveF Apologies, I've included a small description but yes, you've explained things perfectly.

Sometimes people need the extra info; sometimes people complain to us that they don't need to be told everything. Getting the balance right every time our end can be tricky. But thanks for jumping in and helping out a fellow reader in the comments - that's great to see! 😊

Re: Cosmic Star Heroine Dev Explains Its "Frustrating" Experience Working With Nintendo

ryancraddock

@Nintendofan83 Thought I should probably clarify that I have absolutely no connection to the developer and have no intention of siding with them, or Nintendo. The article is simply reporting the fact that those comments were made as it makes for an interesting debate.

The fact that I've reported on it before is just down to the fact that I write a healthy chunk of the articles on NL. There's no conspiracy here

Re: Pre-Order Overcooked 2 Now And Receive Exclusive Characters At Launch

ryancraddock

@Joker13z Hi! All five are exclusive to pre-orders, but not exclusive to any console in particular. The Platypus chef you mentioned is exclusive to Switch, but doesn't have anything to do with this pre-order exclusivity - hence why it wasn't mentioned.

The pricing there was just provided by Team17, but you're right that the Nintendo store lists it at a different price. There seems to be a little confusion on the matter!

Re: Fortnite Player Takes All-Time Kill Record By Savagely Taking Out Rocket Launch Viewers

ryancraddock

@Matthew010 It relates to the game which has become a hugely popular title on Switch, and world records can be achieved on any version. This timed event also happened in the Switch version, so it would make sense for people to be interested in things that happened during it.

Let's take another game as an example. If, say, someone broke the world record of speedrunning through a game like Sonic Mania - which is on all platforms - would the same issue apply? Multi-platform games are just as relevant to fans (and readers) as first-party.
