Re: Nintendo's US Road Trip Will Let You Go Hands On With The Biggest Switch Games

ryancraddock

@rjejr Hi! Yeah, the two locations you mention were included in a press release sent to us directly. No idea why they're not on Nintendo's official page!

As for the admission pricing, some events require payment while others don't. Exact pricing hasn't been set just yet and appears to be related to the individual venues rather than Nintendo itself - hence why we guided you to their official site (we'd hope Nintendo will update their pages nearer the time 🙂).

Re: Guide: Burmy In Pokémon GO - Where To Find Plant, Sandy And Trash Cloaks And Evolution Explained

ryancraddock

@Heavyarms55 No worries!

The reason we have information like this spread across different articles is because - in our experience - people usually stumble across these guides looking for the specific information provided. This guide is intended for people who just need to know about Burmy, for example.

You're right that if people wanted to learn everything, a Pokémon GO-specific site would probably give them everything they need, but we aim to cover the most pressing/exciting/needed topics of a range of games in a way that's easy to understand. Sometimes, visiting a Wiki-like site with lots of words and charts littered all over the page can be a little daunting for someone who just needs a more simple answer to their question.

And yeah, they do tend to get fewer comments but I think that's because the topic doesn't interest as many of our regular readers. These articles tend to attract the attention of those who just visit the site more briefly, which probably makes a lot of sense when you think about it. Hopefully we're covering all bases and providing something for everyone! 🙂

Re: Hindsight 20/20 Is A New Zelda-Inspired Action-Adventure Coming To Switch In 2020

ryancraddock

@clvr No worries, thank you! We often get questioned or worse for things out of our control or - like in this case - accused of things that I personally think are unfounded. Just part of the job sadly!

We will never intentionally use clickbait or do anything even remotely shady; it's just not what we're about. I'd encourage any readers seeing this to point out anything that feels wrong to us, of course, but rest assured that we hate things like clickbait and weak journalism just as much as you do.

(Just tagging @DockEllisD and @spirit_flame so that they can see my explanation in my first reply above ^) 🙂

Re: Hindsight 20/20 Is A New Zelda-Inspired Action-Adventure Coming To Switch In 2020

ryancraddock

@clvr The press release stated that the game's aesthetic was inspired by Zelda (as in, the game's publisher is marketing it as such and the development team has said that their work is inspired by the series).

This isn't something I've made up as "clickbait"; I'm simply reporting the fact that the game was inspired by Zelda, whether people feel that it is similar to it or not.

Re: Japanese Charts: Nintendo Labo VR Constructs A Second Place Debut

ryancraddock

@Maxz Yep, as others have said above, Media Create no longer offers full chart data like it used to. It now only presents the top ten without sales numbers and doesn't do so publicly.

Famitsu also provides a top ten with all info attached but it is considered to be slightly less accurate than Media Create. So the figures you'll see from us from now on will be sourced from Famitsu (which we consider to be estimates rather than fact).

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Direct Rumoured For This Week Could Be A Perfect Send-Off For Reggie

ryancraddock

@SBandy I think it's quite clear that we're extremely cautious of the 'sources' ourselves. The post is simply sharing the report with our own opinions and reasonings for why a Direct could well happen.

The aim here is to share the rumour in a way which clearly lets our readers know it isn't official, while giving everyone in the NL community a chance to discuss and debate the topic together. 🙂

Re: Watch Out, There Are Fake Switch Joy-Con About

ryancraddock

@Dang69 Are you joking? The image used on the home page for this article shows the unofficial Joy-Con (if you think they look real, you completely prove my point that people can be fooled into thinking they're real). The article then goes on to show them and highlight the fact that they are different to the real ones in the top image...

Re: Sega Ages Virtua Racing Will Support Eight-Player Splitscreen And Online Races On Switch

ryancraddock

@retro_player_22 Oh yeah, I was only referring to @infernogott's question about how it would support more than four controllers.

In terms of splitscreen though, yeah, I'd have thought that the 8-player stuff would either be restricted to docked mode only, or at the very least it will be suggested that docked is the best way to play. It'll be an interesting one for sure!
