@Octane Yeah, but he's saying that the full controls for either character will be available on each Joy-Con, so you control one whole character each.
If you did this with Mario Kart, someone would essentially just be holding down the accelerator for hours on end (with the occasional bit of drifting I suppose)
@rjejr Hi! Yeah, the two locations you mention were included in a press release sent to us directly. No idea why they're not on Nintendo's official page!
As for the admission pricing, some events require payment while others don't. Exact pricing hasn't been set just yet and appears to be related to the individual venues rather than Nintendo itself - hence why we guided you to their official site (we'd hope Nintendo will update their pages nearer the time 🙂).
@DockEllisD / @peanutbuttercup Apologies for the mix up with the metal case. The press release simply mentioned "Best Buy" - I checked the US store first (where the case is available) and assumed each store would be the same which was my mistake.
As for the US/Canada pricing, I'll mention this to the team now. 🙂
The reason we have information like this spread across different articles is because - in our experience - people usually stumble across these guides looking for the specific information provided. This guide is intended for people who just need to know about Burmy, for example.
You're right that if people wanted to learn everything, a Pokémon GO-specific site would probably give them everything they need, but we aim to cover the most pressing/exciting/needed topics of a range of games in a way that's easy to understand. Sometimes, visiting a Wiki-like site with lots of words and charts littered all over the page can be a little daunting for someone who just needs a more simple answer to their question.
And yeah, they do tend to get fewer comments but I think that's because the topic doesn't interest as many of our regular readers. These articles tend to attract the attention of those who just visit the site more briefly, which probably makes a lot of sense when you think about it. Hopefully we're covering all bases and providing something for everyone! 🙂
@magnumc500 That's great to hear, and thanks for spending your time with us 🙂
Absolutely. Despite what's been said above, our Pokémon GO articles and forum topics are very popular and readers seem to want the info. We wouldn't spend time on it if no one cared.
@Baker1000 I decided to write all of the evolutions out like that just to make it as clear as it could possibly be. That way, there's no way someone might confuse any of the information provided. There would be no reason for me to extend a character count.
And absolutely. I'm still hugely hyped to go and see it myself and as a fan of the series, I agree it's nice that it has representation from more than just Gen 1. Bad or mixed reviews never mean that you definitely won't like it too - they're only ever meant to be guidance and are the opinion of one person!
Yeah, this is the only thing I can think of too. We highly doubt the graphs are wrong what with them being presented in one of Nintendo's biggest briefings of the year.
@RennanNT @Spoony_Tech Yes, it does seem odd. But these graphs are direct from Nintendo and were presented during its financial briefing - we haven't made them.
@clvr No worries, thank you! We often get questioned or worse for things out of our control or - like in this case - accused of things that I personally think are unfounded. Just part of the job sadly!
We will never intentionally use clickbait or do anything even remotely shady; it's just not what we're about. I'd encourage any readers seeing this to point out anything that feels wrong to us, of course, but rest assured that we hate things like clickbait and weak journalism just as much as you do.
(Just tagging @DockEllisD and @spirit_flame so that they can see my explanation in my first reply above ^) 🙂
@clvr The press release stated that the game's aesthetic was inspired by Zelda (as in, the game's publisher is marketing it as such and the development team has said that their work is inspired by the series).
This isn't something I've made up as "clickbait"; I'm simply reporting the fact that the game was inspired by Zelda, whether people feel that it is similar to it or not.
@Maxz Yep, as others have said above, Media Create no longer offers full chart data like it used to. It now only presents the top ten without sales numbers and doesn't do so publicly.
Famitsu also provides a top ten with all info attached but it is considered to be slightly less accurate than Media Create. So the figures you'll see from us from now on will be sourced from Famitsu (which we consider to be estimates rather than fact).
@SpiritGun7 If it gets announced officially, then that would certainly be an option for us - good idea! 🙂, but giving more than one article to a rumour might be a bit too much.
(I personally get annoyed by the number of rumours in the industry these days as it is, so I don't want to fuel them more than necessary )
@SBandy I think it's quite clear that we're extremely cautious of the 'sources' ourselves. The post is simply sharing the report with our own opinions and reasonings for why a Direct could well happen.
The aim here is to share the rumour in a way which clearly lets our readers know it isn't official, while giving everyone in the NL community a chance to discuss and debate the topic together. 🙂
@Dang69 Are you joking? The image used on the home page for this article shows the unofficial Joy-Con (if you think they look real, you completely prove my point that people can be fooled into thinking they're real). The article then goes on to show them and highlight the fact that they are different to the real ones in the top image...
@PikPi He just means that, in previous years, looking through Best Buy's internal system would show unannounced games in the run-up to E3, before they were officially unveiled.
@Matthew010 We came up with a few ideas but with all the rumours and misleading reports going on these days we felt it might be best to just leave it this time!
@retro_player_22 Oh yeah, I was only referring to @infernogott's question about how it would support more than four controllers.
In terms of splitscreen though, yeah, I'd have thought that the 8-player stuff would either be restricted to docked mode only, or at the very least it will be suggested that docked is the best way to play. It'll be an interesting one for sure!
Some games also do it by accepting four sets of Joy-Con, but then remapping the controls in such a way that people can hold one Joy-Con sideways each and technically play with eight players.

Re: PQube To Release More Switch eShop Games Physically In Europe, Two Launch Today
@Timsworld2 Not yet it seems. Valthirian Arc appears for PS4, but there's nothing for Switch yet.
Hopefully more stores across Europe will update if they end up getting stock!

@koekiemonster "Nintendo Life hates the Wii U"? How did you possibly manage to get that impression from this article? 🤔
Re: Astral Chain Director Reveals Neat Trick Which Will Let You Play In Co-Op
@Octane Yeah, seems like combat at least will have you doing attacks with both characters together. Hopefully we'll have a much clearer idea soon!

Re: Fan Makes Free-To-Play Super Mario Battle Royale, And It's Surprisingly Great

Re: Cris Tales Is An "Indie Love Letter To Classic JRPGs", And It's Coming To Switch
@ricardosteve As pointed out by the quotation marks, the "love letter" description came from the game's press release - it's not our words.
We're simply passing on the message that that is how it's being described. 🙂
