The latest Pokémon movie (known as Pokémon: Everyone's Story in Japan) has received a bunch of new announcements surrounding its western release, with release dates being given for the US, and even a brand new name for the movie itself.
The movie will now be called Pokémon: The Power of Us, no doubt referring to the franchise's second film which featured a tagline saying 'The Power of One' and also featured legendary Pokémon Lugia as a central character. The movie debuted in Japan earlier this month, bringing with it a fresh new animation style reminiscent of Studio Ghibli.

The movie will be available to view in select theatres in the US on 23rd, 26th, and 28th November, as well as 1st December, with ticket sales expected to be handled by Fathom Events as those dates draw nearer. Other countries are also expected to follow suit with more details still to come. The plot sees Ash and Pikachu attend a wind festival, teaming up with a small bunch of characters to work together and rescue a seaside town from a series of threatening incidents, with all the lovely Pokémon battling goodness you'd expect to see.

The Power of Us ??
Will the movie come to Indonesia ?
Only way it sells is if Ash evolves his Pikachu and catches Ho-Oh, his great white whale since Day 1.
Looks pretty awesome to me. I’ve hated every Pokémon film since the fifth one. Hopefully it’s good. I’ll be taking my sons to see it unless it’s straight to blu ray.
@Audiobrainiac the last two where great and this looks very interesting I still like the Japan title better.Time for the pre order of the movie digital.
@Euler Actually, it IS the only way to get me into the Pokémon series... I wanna jump in but I don't wanna have to dig into older stuff.
Interesting that they decided to keep the Japanese version of "Lugia's Song" rather than creating a remaster of the dub version from "The Power of One."
Both themes are very pretty. I just would think that if they want to evoke "The Power of One" with "The Power of Us," they'd remind the viewers of M2's dub theme too.
Also, it's a little funny because Revelation Lugia's theme was precisely the opposite of the Power of One - it was that everyone comes together to stop an environmental tragedy. The dub flipped the theme on its head by making it so Ash had to save the world. But here, they keep the original "Everyone's Story" theme by keeping it about everyone, while still using an inversion title of their dub M2.
The nostalgia is strong in these ones.
Btw, did Ash voiced by Veronica Taylor as same as Sailor Pluto (Viz dubbing) ?
I noticed this on the list. They not on sale till Sept27

I saw Psycho-Pass and Onepiece GOLD when Fathom brought them to NYC. The movie was packed both times - they do a good job
@Audiobrainiac the article states the days it will be in theaters.
I'm interested in this new Ghibli-esque style that they're using. I stopped watching the movies ages ago and haven't seen any since Destiny Deoxys. It might be time to change that.
"Some things I can't do alone - but together ..."
...are you gonna finish that sentence? No? Okay then.
Japanese audiences are calling this one of the best movies in the franchise. Might be worth checking out guys.
It's a shame that western audiences dismiss anything that doesn't look like that ugly Disney CG animation that 99.999% of non-live action movies in the west look like now.
Traditional animation > Disney CG by about 12,000%
@Dysnomia yeah it would help if I read the article, huh. Lol thanks.
@andrew20 I do like the art style a lot. Way more dramatic than the old ones.
@Heavyarms55 CG's big benefit is how it reminds kids of toys-specifically merchandise for Disney. I wish they'd at least experiment with some hand drawn stuff, and let people have the best of both worlds.
The movie itself looks good animation-wise, but man I am not digging Ash's eyes. Call me old fashioned (and petty since it's hardly a deal breaker), but the more detailed look always seems off for him. Color's fine, just avoid all of the extra details
@Andrew5678 The thing is, Disney used to have beautiful hand drawn animation. And even modern computer aided 2D animation can be really beautiful and retain the variety I grew up loving.
But today, in the west, every "animated" movie in the west is almost the exact same animation style. That rounded, mushy clay-like CG. That isn't to say I haven't liked some of those films, but non of them strike me as beautiful the way something like Fantasia or Spirited Away is.
This trailer is what I expected the Pokemon Switch games to look like to be honest. I like the look of Let's Go but this is what I expected.
I am crazily excited for this movie and trailed itself impressed me a lot. Am gonna watch this fantastic movie in Apollo TV App https://apollotvapp.net/ which is the greatest android application to watch any movie which is getting released.
