@Bondi_Surfer Simply because the racing alone isn't as fun as when it is combined with the progression of the career. There are only a handful of courses and, unless both players are at very similar skill levels, you'll likely just see the same result over and over and get bored after a while.
The career mode on the other hand is great fun, if a little challenging!
@ThanosReXXX Haha, thanks for pointing that out! I've sorted the picklock-lockpicking mess!
As for the races, I didn't want to delve too deep into it as the point was to give people who feel intimidated a bit of hope! But as people already are doing, we'd actively encourage everyone to share their thoughts, knowledge, and experience with the races in the comments.
@datamonkey Pro Controllers are lovely, and I use mine for the vast majority of games that I play. Odyssey is such a natural fit for the Joy-Cons though - after a short while the entire game feels effortless to play with them.
@chewytapeworm Same! I completely missed the little hidden area and - after getting the name of the Moon from Talkatoo - I assumed it was to do with the four Chain Chomps all together on the mainland. I must have spent about an hour lining up shots with three Chain Chomps trying to pull off anything that might be deemed a 'very nice shot'!
Q. Does the Switch version feature the online ranking system and avatar rental?
A. Yes.
Q. If yes, did you spend any time with them?
A. Yes - the avatar rental is a nice idea, especially for friends who want to create OCs that can effectively 'play' in the Sonic universe together but - in my opinion - the way in which the Avatar characters play and handle isn't as strong as when playing as Sonic so the whole idea is weakened somewhat. (Again, just personal opinion of course).
Online ranking is fine although it is a shame that the ranking system is so heavily weighted towards speed - meaning that collecting rings/red star rings is pointless for trying to achieve top rank. Also, this can be affected heavily by completing daily challenges which can add multipliers to your score - effectively meaning that the multiplayer you've been awarded that day can completely change how well it looks like you have performed.
Q. If no, do you think having those features would have impacted the final score?
A. Obviously they are there so... But to be honest, I didn't really feel that their inclusion made too much difference - especially in terms of just the score.
@ThanosReXXX Just wanted to confirm that Ryan isn't that "REALLY annoying kind of guy in multiplayer games that knows where all the respawn points are and subsequently shoots you back into oblivion every damn time the moment you reappear".
@DeltaPeng On the TV it is absolutely fine. I wouldn't recommend having four players all gathered around the Switch in Tabletop mode necessarily (especially if you have the TV option available) but I wouldn't usually suggest that for any game.
@ImDiggerDan Not at all, thank you! It was an absolute joy to play through and I hope that came across in my review. Looking forward to seeing the game on Switch too. Best of luck with the whole process!
@RadioShadow Hi Yes you can choose to have any number of CPU players as you like - I believe I mentioned how the game allows you to have 'Compy Chompys' (CPU characters) towards the end of the review. So yes you can do this, although admittedly having lots of players around you is the more fun option.
@CliveWinston @JeffreyG Yeah, the harder difficulties are actually much more tricky than previous games in the series. Changing between the two 'strings' and making chord shapes in faster sections is a real challenge.

@Shiryu Terrible.
Re: Guide: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Top Tips And Tricks
@Shiryu I appreciate that that sentence could only possibly apply to a very small minority.
Re: Guide: Super Mario Odyssey: Sand Kingdom Power Moon Locations And Walkthrough
@Shinnos You can get that Moon without motion controls - I did - but it is admittedly much easier if you can use them.
Re: Guide: Super Mario Odyssey: Sand Kingdom Power Moon Locations And Walkthrough
@chewytapeworm It is tricky - shaking the controller as much as possible is definitely the best advice we can give!

@thesilverbrick With Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon finished, you'd expect that the younger staff might jump on to the Switch game too?

There is no local co-op, online supports up to 4 players.

@Tryken Thanks

Re: Review: Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime (Switch eShop)
@ACrate81 @gcunit Yes, each player can use any type of controller setup including a single Joy-Con
Re: Review: Phantom Trigger (Switch eShop)
@misfitpierce Of course! Must have been particularly sleep-deprived or something the day I wrote that sentence!
Re: Review: Phantom Trigger (Switch eShop)
@Sunanootoko @MaSSiVeRiCaN @misfitpierce
For clarification: You can play in co-op mode straight away. It is not unlocked after beating the game.
I made an error here - it is actually the Arena mode that is unlocked after the game. It has now been corrected
