@NEStalgia Yeah, I mean you can always archive games you've completed to make more space for new ones, but I agree that it is a problem.

@ktej75 Yep, it's a tough one! This seems to be such a regular thing with Switch as well - having physicals be announced months after.

At the end of the day though, it's the game itself that's the most important - you'll spend more time playing than looking at the box on your shelf! 😊

The boxed game isn't available without the starter pack unfortunately, so you might struggle to get one new without a few toys thrown in.

It was through a very lucky coincidence with work. Myself and Damo were meeting up with Tsubasa Sakaguchi (Splatoon co-director) for an interview and Miyamoto and Tezuka happened to be in the same building.
Apparently Miyamoto wanted to come and say hello after being shown some of my cheesy Nintendo fan-music on YouTube - an incredible honour of course!

I now desperately want Sakurai to add to the signatures on my 3DS…

@Preposterous Yeah, it's a really tough one to decide. As a game, and as a standalone product, those games would be fantastic - they're only stale to those who have played previous games before.

Obviously our reviews reach all kinds of people - some have played every Pokémon game in existence, some are playing it for the first time, so to newcomers those arguments would be completely invalid. It's impossible to win really

Exactly - Sun and Moon already had a 10/10, and the Ultra games were essentially the same thing with more content. Giving anything less than a 10 couldn't make sense at the time.

This gives us a chance to start fresh, and I can't stress enough how scores really aren't everything. This and the Ultra games are completely different experiences; whacking a number on them can't ever really compare them - it's the content of the review that shows their differences.

@ALazyUsername128 Oh no. Currently you can only get Mew by buying the Poké Ball Plus controller. It's possible that it'll be shared with other players via an online distribution in the future, but this hasn't been confirmed either way yet. My comment was assuming you either had the controller or had traded Mew from a friend also.

@saintayu At the moment, the only option visible is for two players to enter the same three-character code at the same time - so random matches with strangers online doesn't seem possible.

Servers haven't actually gone live at present, though, so it's impossible to know if this will change in the future.

@RodSD64 Yes, there is local multiplayer (I mentioned in the review that this features single and double battles).

And each user can have one save file each. 🙂

There are a handful of version exclusives, yep. You can't get all 151 without either trading (just like the old days) or transferring from your Pokémon GO account.

In this particular case, I put that in the tagline to avoid any confusion as I appreciate the header could make it look like the game is Switch exclusive - just so that people viewing the article from our home page were aware.

Of course, for both us and for Push Square, we recognise that our readers are primarily interested in Nintendo or Sony consoles respectively, so sometimes articles will talk solely about those platforms. There's never any malicious intent if a writer chooses to include or ignore a particular platform, I assure you. 🙂

@Moroboshi876 They haven't simply taken the original 40 and added 8. They've changed up some of the games entirely, so the bold ones are those that weren't available on previous machines. 🙂

@RupeeClock To be fair, for a company as financially successful as Game Freak, there's absolutely no reason why they couldn't just expand their team if they're hoping to produce more content than usual.

If they want to expand the series with multiple lines - originals, remakes (so Gen 4 next), and Let's Go games all in tandem - I'm sure they could pull it off.

Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean there aren't countless readers who play the game on Switch and are interested in these articles. If you don't like Fortnite, you're more than welcome to ignore any article discussing it.
