I’d be surprised if Switch 2 is a better experience than Deck. I (will) have both consoles and the game on each, I’m keen to see how they stack up against each other

Limited Run really shouldnt have anything to do with the Switch 2 release, surely - it seems the polar opposite of what they stand for. In the Switch 2 generation we might have to rely on them more than ever for physical game preservation

was really enjoying this but after 3 weeks of (for me) solid playing I had about 15 hours play time total. Knowing how large the game is, and Switch 2 on the horizon I decided to trade it in as I know I'll never complete it.
Instead I read the story online to get closure

There was the apperature desk job for Deck which was fun too and they got J.K. Simmons in to voice, that would have cost. I'm not angry or anything, just left baffled and confused by the decision

I’m fancying picking Pikmin 4 back up with spring being here, however part of me is saying to hold on and see if a Switch 2 edition releases, I hope so

@Splash_Woman I preordered from Nintendo and no money has been taken yet, probably not until week before release so you might be ok

To say how keen Nintendo appear to be with their brand and image, and the reams of paperwork they generate, the end product of all this has been a little sloppy with the Switch 2 info and marketing

I've not seen mention of anything from Saber Interactive yet - perhaps they dont have dev kits yet so arent able to line up to start a Switch 2 Edition? I'd love to see it come, as I've a hunt or 2 left to complete in Beauclaire and would love to do that on Switch 2 with higher graphics just to close the game out

I feel for me The Witcher 3 was the BotW moment for me in terms of an open world. Stepping into Xenoblade Chronicles X after both Witcher 3 and BotW make me realise what a fantastic achievement the game was, especially considering it ran on Wii U. I can see why Monolith Soft were brought in to assist on BotW, great team they have there

This was a disappointment for me from the reveal, I would really prefer analog triggers after using them for abit on steam deck in racing games

@NielsNL yeah agree. I have LA Noire physical, love the game - but I think only about 4GB is on cart with about a 17GB download. The game-key in effect to me is the same thing really - once the servers are gone both games are gone. However I can (most likely) trade a game-key game in like i could LA Noire

@MrBelmont hopefully Very have sorted it out since I got TotK (well, tried to get - I have standard now). It might be worth setting up notifications for other stores incase

For those who can afford to, I'd recommend pre-ordering a console from multiple places. Just return one of the consoles for a refund if needs be.
I pre-ordered TotK collectors edition from Very.co.uk, and on day of release it never arrived - a few days later I got a cancellation saying that due to no stock the order couldnt be fulfilled - so a pre-order is no guarantee you'll get a product.

Unfortunately I can’t see this going any other way than US consumers having to pay the difference. If they pass on the tariff cost, that’s a hell of an increase!

What would interest me is as Switch games run via emulation which Nintendo confirmed, does a Switch 2 version the run natively via a patch or still via emulation. No big deal, just curious how Nintendo approached it

It’s a nice feature but I doubt I’d ever use it as I only really ever play handheld. Nice it’s there though

This was on my wishlist for Switch 2 games and was relatively confident about t would happen eventually, but not launch day. Wonder if it’s Saber that handled the port - I hope they’ve got dev kits at least

CD Projekt Red dont mess about - I really appreciated it when they went all in with Witcher 3 and took the largest cartridge size available to get it all on. Probably one of the rare 3rd party titles we'll see where its all on cart

I got on the nintendo store site and it appears there that preorder are by invite only. Criteria are having active switch online account for 2 years, and your play time
Also UK preoders on there open 8th April

@datamonkey possibly so the markets not saturated with games at launch, with few games releasing in the months after launch - they're probably trying to spread it out abit like they do with their games

@datamonkey I think we'll see some major 3rd party releases around launch from the big players in the industry. I was initially worried they meant all 3rd parties, but it seems the big companies do have dev kits already like Ubisoft, maybe EA, Bethesda, Take Two etc - or, atleast I hope they've had them for a long time already!

That retailer have limited allocation, but it doesn’t mean Nintendo will if you order direct. I imagine Nintendo will keep the bulk of stock for sale through their site. And why not, more money in their pocket

I want to vote for Batham Arkham Knight but cant see that in the list - thats the one that needs a Switch 2 edition but will probably never happen.
I hope Switch 2 with back compat will just brute force better performance as i really want to play it
I've voted for Bayonetta 3, as I have that on my shelf but not played - partly due to reviews mentioning performance

Developers receiving dev kits in June? I'd have expected them to have had dev kits for quite some time now so im definately taking this article with a pinch of salt
I can see a June launch as feasible, the rest of the info in the article not so much

@TheExile285 I was expecting to read this article and they also say demo out today on Switch

I dont doubt that this will be a fantastic game in the future, especially with an expansion or 2 (a future age maybe?) - so far enjoyable, but there is scope for improvement

Be great to see Doom dark ages and Indiana Jones come over to Switch 2

@Anachronism thanks for the info, I’ll temper my expectations somewhat as I progress through it - hopefully the extra content fixes up the conclusion of the game story wise

I must admit this is by far my favourite Xenoblade game so far by a country mile, I really do like the story set up, the world and characters so far.
I might be at odds with the majority of opinions but by the end I think it will remain the top Xenoblade game for me

Maybe just the devs playing around to see what was achievable and the code never got removed from the final build

Good for him - make a great game, make a nice wadge of cash (and deservedly so) then carry on with life as you see fit without any distractions from joe public

Dont Nintendo file alot of patents anyway that never see the light of day? Just because this was filed doesnt mean its in Switch 2 although i really hope it is/I think it needs it

I cant see them doing that well off this - I think part of the appeal of Switch and Steam deck are the ease of use (Steam deck does need some tinkering at times) but both have great OS's in my opinion. Having a handheld running Windows just isnt something I'd want. The Xbox handheld would need its own custom OS to survive I feel
