I'd like to see some of the following games revealed - Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Dune Spice Wars, Starfield, Doom Dark Ages And of course some other quality Nintendo titles though no preference on which
Release day has come round so quick, only seems a month back that it was announced end of October - I remember thinking 20 weeks to go, now its just under 3....
Just have to have a mindset about these subscription services like Netflix - movie gets added, you watch, some time later its removed As long as gaming as a whole doesnt move to a subscription service then its fine
I think its the people who come up with estimated sales figures that need to take the flak, they're fueling the greed fire and leading to disappointments. Yves eyes will have been $_$ after the spoke to these teams about sales estimates - pandering to the boss
If true the grills are interesting - extra airflow to the Switch 2 when its docked? Maybe theres a fan in that bulky area to bring in more airflow? If so could see quite a performance bump when docked compared to Switch, be better for people who use it on TV
Nintendo really need to step up to the plate with the eShop in general now - with such a successful console as Switch and Switch 2 on the horizon they have to have a worthier store front. I mean come on, surely someone at Nintendo can develop a coherent store experience, with teams available to audit submissions, surely? Unless Nintendo just arent capable and are living in their utopian bubble still
Until anything’s officially confirmed, I think expectations should be tempered regarding DLSS. It’d be a classic case of Nintendo where the tech is available but they chose not to implement it in Switch 2. Digital Foundry themselves said that from the Mario Kart footage they saw there is no evidence of DLSS in use
I'm really enjoying it so far, bearing in mind my expectations arent for this to be perfect at launch. Anyone wanting something more than what it is now will probably be guaranteed to find that game after patches and an expansion or 2. Knowing Civ, there will be alot of life in this game for years to come
@bobbyjack-dot-me plus the fact you can trade them in at places once done with them/if you dont like the game. I've been stuck with some duff eshop purchases I didnt like despite good reviews
Wow, justifies the effort getting Civ 7 onto Switch - I recall they mentioned 6 did well for them on Switch. This must surely mean that improved Switch 2 support will be added in some way (patch? paid upgrade?) to support larger maps etc.
I'm hoping as they create/sell alot of DLC for Civ 7 they'd give as a free upgrade
Witcher 3 Beaclair was night and day going from lcd to oled. The sky and foliage just popped so much! Bear in mind at the time I was comparing Steam Deck LCD to Switch OLED, and I still preferred switch even though the graphics on Deck were better - Switch it just popped and looked beautiful on OLED so I finished my play through there rather than Deck
I’ve been playing it since Friday as my physical shipped early (I’m not paying for those early access versions) and while it’s an impressive port so far there seem to be quite a few similarities to 6 I’m not liking, most notably in the tech tree. It’s not the same but it does feel far too familiar to 6. I do like the ideas of towns and am looking forward to what else they’ve changed up. I’ve not really read anything about the game so I’m not sure what else new is coming up in game
I think we could see GTA 5 on Switch 2, 6 would be too far a stretch I think. Hoping they patch up Civ 7 with Switch 2 support too (I think theres a good chance) so that you can play on larger maps
Theres very few EA franchises i'd be bothered about on Switch. I'd like to see the Jedi games come over, and command and conquer remastered collection would be nice if the mouse input for Switch 2 is true
I'm curious how to use it. I play handheld on the sofa, or connected to the tv - there'll need to be a surface to use it on, I'm wondering if they'll have some nifty peripheral for this
@Joeynator3000 nothing for the Switch so far. It’s been suspiciously quiet with the Switch version, no previews or gameplay or anything so my hopes aren’t very high at the moment but would be happy to be pleasantly surprised
@Novamii from what I’ve read online no, you don’t need an internet connection to stream data. It appears that the ai training model/machine learning is online (cloud based?) and is trained constantly. It seems periodically you get updates over the internet with these dlss models, for a better experience in game. In a nutshell, no internet needed but you would probably benefits from the dlss updates
From Digital Foundrys Switch 2 video the past week, their impression from the Mario Kart footage on display was there was no upscaling in use there. Knowing Nintendo, it might be worth tempering expectations for now on this
Will pick this up as enjoyed the first. I hope they do another physical - I think the first was limited to the US (had to import) - a wider release would be nice
Absolutely loved Astral Chain and would love to see a sequel - its nice to see it at least mentioned (though somewhat negatively at the moment) however its nice Nintendo havnt seemingly burried the IP after the first game. Heres hoping its being worked on
I was shocked when I played Witcher 3 years ago that Bloody Baron was a side quest, just because of the scale of it. Hopefully more like this in Witcher 4 and hopefully a Switch 2 port
@wiiware likewise, 60fps would be great if we can have it across multiple games - I'm sure atleast Nintendo games will push for this (but not all). I've only experience 60fps in a few games, but when I did the experience was so nice - I'm not someone who cares about fps aslong as its stable and as close to 30 as possible but based on the experiences of 60 I've had it'd be amazing for most games to hit that!
@wiiware I think it'd struggle with 60 to be honest unless theres dlss magic happening, though they can trim the graphical fidelity down. I play the division 1 on steam deck, on high I get around 45fps - just trying to temper expectations is all based on what could be achievable - its the dlss aspect that could really help here if it is incorporated
@1UP-HUSKY hopefully internally they bring in some process improvements to help mitigate leaks like this. I think Switch 2 will be a hit for sure, but more gradual an uptake than we saw with Switch
Their comments in the video of Nintendo's attitude being 'it wont happen to us' just sounds like arrogance and hubris on Nintendo's part - if this attitude at Nintendo internally is true then they deserve this wake up call. As Kit and Krysta mentioned, times have changed, Nintendo need to change their mindset and approach too
@JohnnyMind @Cipher36 just got my physical (Asia - English) and can confirm online does work. I did buy it digitally last week and played a little and confirm that my save game does work with the physical too (atleast the Asia - English copy) so probably same game on cartridge as western eshop release. I got airport hero haneada physically some time back, then got digital so I could get the DLC and the save game for that was not compatible.
@OorWullie One piece of advice I have is to use the tank controls, not the modern ones - I really struggled with modern controls. The old 'tank' controls feel weird at first these days but the added precision it offers made the game easier for me (making jumps etc)
@OorWullie I've only played 1 and 2 so I cant provide a concrete answer, but from what I've seen online over the years it seems the series tapered off, apparently Angel of Darkness isnt very popular but I cant recall why. If you're mulling over which collection to get in my opinion based on online feedback I'd go 1-3 (you could get physical if you fancy that)
Ive still got 1-3 to finish, ended up double dipping with physical so I think this is a good one to sit on for the hopefully inevitable physical later this year
If buying physical in the UK from there beware you may be subject to import duty, I was recently for Hyperlight difter - it was £16 import duty to pay so just be aware. Worth it though if you want the physical, just factor that into the final cost
Nintendo are just filling gaps in the Switch release schedule now with subpar efforts - to be expected as the big devs will all have been working likely years now on Switch 2 games
For me aslong as we're not inundated with games on or around release its ok, I dont want to end up in backlog hell almost immediately on Switch 2 - I'm only just making a good effort on finishing Mario Wonder now
@obijuankanoobie my best guess would be the latter, a leak from a factory to Genki or something. Nintendo might be able to force Genki to release where they got this detail from but I haven’t a clue as I don’t know anything on these sorts of laws
For me I couldnt pick a list, the thing that stands out to me the most with Switch are the impossible ports we received - Witcher 3, Doom, Crysis amongst many others - I’ll definitely have fond memories of this little machine in years to come
It feels like Nintendo need to start working around these leaks now in their schedule of announcment - do it too soon and it could be drown out by all these rumours and noise, leave it too late and people could be underenthusiastic if they announce the exact hardware we're seeing here
Looks like nice initial support for the platform from 3rd parties. Theres a few games I'd like from each of those - RDR2, Starfield, Star Wars Jedi Survivor amongst a wishlist of others
I have a feeling if Nintendo leave it too long from now (another month or 2) the wind could be taken from their sails when they do eventually announce it, especially if what we've been seeing these last weeks are true. The big plus is we've seen no game footage yet
