Re: US Retailers Are Playing With Fire With More Switch 2 Cancellations

FYI incase it helps anyone - my preorder with Nintendo store was failed to take payment last week as the pre-verification you have to do with the bank in the uk (using the app to approve a purchase) never happened at all in the process so my bank just declined the purchase - ended up using Paypal in the end which was fine for their retry attempt

Really been enjoying American Arcadia, almost finished (I plan to tonight - a rarity for me to finish games)
Some frame rate hiccups and low resolutions at times though make me think at this time Switch 2 would have been a better target platform

Re: "If You're A Real Fan, You'll Find A Way" - Borderlands 4 Dev Gives Tone Deaf Response To Price Concerns

With Switch 2, we wont be leaving the generation with a backlog a mile long like alot may be with Switch - games we bought and never or rarely played. Might be a good thing? I remember when I was young I could only get 1 or 2 games a year and they were treasured and enjoyed to the end. These days im working and have a backlog of games that i'll never play, and rarely complete games now.
This is a good reason for me avoiding games now such as Borderlands, as I get bored of them so quickly, and just to be more selective about what I buy

Re: Nintendo: "Physical Games Are Still A Key Part Of Our Business"

ozwally

I see it as not a great move but I'm trying to look at it a little more positively. I'm someone who trades in games, especially if they turn out not to be great - I'm thinking if game key cards didnt exist, would all of these current game key card games therefor come to the eshop only and we'd never see a 'physical' release? Thinking like that, these game key cards give me the opportunity to get rid of games, especially ones I dont like, rather than buying via eshop and being stuck with them/all cash lost.
Dont get me wrong, I treasure physicals and Cyberpunk was a no brainer for me to pick up. During the Switch generation I really didnt like the games which required download, like LA Noire, a game I love - I really would like to have that game on the cartridge as a single example
The only issue is, game key cards seem a cheap and easy 'way out' for these developers to avoid paying costs for a true physical - its encouraging them to go game key card rather than true physical which I dont like at all

@EVIL-C I have a feeling that 3GB reserved includes RAM for optional game chat implementation, as thats a system level feature. If true, we'll probably lose that RAM in games that dont use game chat - it'll just sit there unused within that 3GB allocation which is a shame

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Final Tech Specs Have Been Confirmed

I can see dev's choosing not to implement game chat to utilise the CPU resources more effectively for their game, its a shame but could drop by the wayside.
Of the 3GB reserved by Nintendo, im curious what portion of this is for game chat and if that could be free'd up for game use - my guess is no and that the RAM would just remain unused if game chat isnt implemented/game chat is just 'dormant' in the background when a game not supporting it is running.

Re: Former Rockstar Dev Throws Shade At Mario Kart World, Says New GTA Will Be Worth The Price

I very much doubt i'll have chance to play GTA6 anytime soon, and I doubt it'll ever come to Switch 2, but from what they've shown so far I think it will be a phenominal game that will outsell any other games for quite some time (it will be multiplatform anyway so its a given)
I must admit from what I've seen, I'd love to be able to play it but I dont have space in my life at the moment for a home console bar Switch for portable
I think both games will be worth price of entry, due to the amount of time you'll be able to spend playing either. Interesting debate as I dont doubt Rockstar has put more time into GTA6 and have a denser game than Nintendo have MK, however 2 totally different games. I think it comes down to play time - if you get 120 hour out of both, surely they are both worth the cost of entry at the prices they are asking? Its just Nintendo are more savvy, lower development cost and time investment however they are only selling on 1 platform so natural wont have the bumper sales figures GTA6 will generate

Re: Opinion: Switch 2 Finally Gives Star Wars Outlaws A Second Chance

I’m really looking forward to this as a Star Wars fan, I’m just wondering how it’ll run and look. I’ve watched a video or 2 from digital foundry and they think it’s the most ambitious port to Switch 2 and not sure how it’ll run and look. Still, I’m in no need of 60fps, 30fps with dips would suit me

Re: Switch 2 'Welcome Tour' Estimated File Size Revealed By Nintendo

Still cant believe this isnt included with the console, I just dont know what Nintendo are thinking.Sony included one I believe with PS5? There was the apperature desk job for Deck which was fun too and they got J.K. Simmons in to voice, that would have cost. I'm not angry or anything, just left baffled and confused by the decision

Re: CD Projekt Red Coy On Witcher 3 Upgrade For Switch 2

I've not seen mention of anything from Saber Interactive yet - perhaps they dont have dev kits yet so arent able to line up to start a Switch 2 Edition? I'd love to see it come, as I've a hunt or 2 left to complete in Beauclaire and would love to do that on Switch 2 with higher graphics just to close the game out
