Re: Review: Mario Tennis Fever (Switch 2) - Slim For Singles, But An Addictive Core Gives It Online Legs

ozwally

@John_Deacon They really are, I was wondering if they'd change direction with solo content compared to Switch, but based on this my initial thoughts are I'll be skipping all Mario sports games on Switch 2 as this seems the way Nintendo wants to approach them.

Its like the odd direction with Mario Wonder too, I dont care for the multiplayer content at all there, but I do want the upgraded visuals

Re: Nintendo Responds To Dispatch Switch Censorship With Official Statement

ozwally

I’m not all that fbithered by the censorship per-se, for me it’s the way it’s done with the black bars - when I watched a few video reviews I felt like it’d be far too distracting for me when playing. Might get this eventually but it’s really dropped down my buy list now. I think this move will cost them a lot of sales on Switch 2, I feel like the devs should fight Nintendo on this if possible (loss of earnings etc) but it’s probably something specific like no animation with nudity in Nintendo’s legal conditions somewhere as mentioned

Re: Lovely-Looking Cinematic Adventure Sequel 'Planet Of Lana II' Gets A 10-Minute Gameplay Vid

@Divide_and_Wander Did you play this on Switch by chance? And if so how was it, did you experience many bugs? I'm really interested to know as I do want to go back to this - the reason I ask is that I got it at launch as I loved the look of it, yet I hit quite a few bugs early on, 1 bug (mentioned in the SwitchUp review where the 'cat' keeps dropping from the sky) which totally blocked my progress and made it unplayable.

Re: Hazelight Founder Josef Fares On EA: "Let's Be Honest, There's Not A Publisher In The World That Hasn't F****d Up"

ozwally

My bad perception from EA came from their chasing of in-game purchases I.e. loot boxes and whatever’s happening in fifa - they seemed to me to want to gouge the customer for as much as they could , the Star Wars Battlefront 2 saga as an example.
But then to balance this in my mind, they’ve published games I’ve really appreciated that have none of this such as Command and Conquer Remastered a few years back.

At the end of the day they’re a business out to make money for their shareholders, as any listed company is, and they do this via games. They need to maximise this return and I understand that more now as an adult - if doing so means they can fund other great games then so be it

Re: Poll: Which Call Of Duty Do You Want To See On Switch 2?

ozwally

Was the 2019 remaster of modern warfare not as good as the original - I chose 2019 as I figure that’d be the better version, just to see in results the original has a higher percentage of votes - just genuinely curious, was it bad?

Fond memories of the original, would love to see it in either form come over

Re: Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined Demo - Switch And Switch 2 Performance Investigated

ozwally

The demo did interest me but the major issue is time. Final Fantasy 7 is out this month which will take me months, just finishing off Persona 3 Relaod which I’ve been playing since launch then seeing this could be a good 80 hours, I just can’t possibly fit it in with resident evil releasing in Feb also. Wish I had more time, but with Switch 2 I’m being more sensible and not having a ridiculous backlog of games that will never get played and to be honest I’m getting more enjoyment from the system by actually seeing good games through to the end now

Re: Mini Review: Layers Of Fear: Final Masterpiece Edition (Switch 2) - Handsome But Humdrum Horror

ozwally

@larryisaman my best guess is the gulf between the handheld and portable specs, it took me by surprise how reduced the specs are in handheld compared to docked when they were revealed - not sure if Switch 1 had such a difference docked/handheld, but like you say at least we do get the option of handheld. As I’m 100% handheld, it’s obviously essential for me (a traditional console is a no go right now)

Re: Opinion: This GOTY Pick Might Be My Most Morbid Yet

ozwally

Something about it really captured my attention, and played several hours before other games came along. For now I’m waiting on a potential Switch 2 edition but if one doesn’t materialise I think I’ll eventually get this completed as-is

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight For Switch Receives Another Switch 2 Backwards Compatibility Update

ozwally

I tried it last week post patch and the resolution and textures to me still aren’t good enough. In the cafe at the beginning the shimmering/aliasing on so many surfaces looks like something that could be migraine inducing, was just very uncomfortable to look at.
Here’s hoping for a Switch 2 edition, but I do really appreciate they keeping working on it, just one last push please WB/Turn Me Up

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Reviews Skyrim On Switch 2, And Yeah, It's Bad

ozwally

Weirdly this isn’t affecting me, I’ve just completed Bleak Falls Barrow and on my way to turn in quests.

Definitely not denying there’s an issue here as the evidence is right there, but for me I don’t seem as susceptible to this latency. For reference I also don’t see much of an improvement in games from 30 to 60 fps and I’m terrible at games such as fighting games so might explain why I’m not as affected.

Might be worth people giving it a go as like me you may not notice it as much

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight For Switch Receives Another Switch 2 Backwards Compatibility Update

@rvcolem1 I think the review was deserved when you look at how the game could/should be. I think the Switch was too ambitious a port to tackle in all honesty as I recall this on its original 2015 release there were so many issues performance wise on anything but PS3. This game actually runs and looks really great on Steam Deck, so I think in reality a Switch 2 port of this would have made more sense
