@OldGamer999 from what we've seen from Ubi so far I think it should be a decent port, but proof will be in the pudding (as we saw with Outlaws pre-release footage/gameplay I'd ignore that for Shadows if anything looks bad)
@conditionals I really like Rain Code so recommend giving that a go. I’m on the fence with this due to reviews, and I’m sure I’m in the minority as I wasn’t keen on Hundred Line but love Danganronpa series
@OldGamer999 fully agree, to see Outlaws running on it in such a good way shows they out a lot of effort into the port - was great seeing a current gen game come to Switch in such a nice package
This to me screams Switch 1 version with higher res, minor improvmements and higher frame rates. If this was a Switch 1 release only I’d be very happy, but for Switch 2 and what it’s capable off the port falls well short, there’s no arguing that regardless how you feel how well it runs
Happy enough but visuals aren’t the best and I’m going to wait for a little to see if a patch drops for gyro support for shooting, struggling abit so could really do with that to enjoy it more
@UpsideDownRowlet Unfortunatrly based on Ubisofts comments and Digital Foundry’s findings around game cards in relation to Star Wars outlaws, it seems we may see more GKC’s due to technically limitations around the data transfer rates of game cards just not being high enough to stream the game content - it’s sad to hear as I love physicals, and I’m surprised the game cards don’t have a much higher transfer rate than they currently do
@Dark-Luigi had to just google image search your icon as I know that would have bugged me all day wondering where it was from as I know I've seen her, now I know why - love that series but been a long time since Vita I think
@MamaSymphonia good to know - no idea why I thought it was sooner, in all honesty I thought it had already passed this year in late september or October. Good to always be learning something though!
I did enjoy 2k21 on Switch, this looks like a nice upgrade as the crowds appear to be present now for a start. Just curious what the monetisation model is like as I’d read some steam reviews prior that said it was pay to win
To have waited so many years for this to come to Switch, now we have Switch 2 and they release it - looking at the graphics it feels abit of a kick in the teeth now after waiting for so long, a good Switch 2 port would be preferred at this point
@AG_Awesome I’m really desperate for a Switch 2 update. I tried it in my steam deck quite a while back and it looked and played really well, so on Switch 2 I think it would also
@Coffee-Waffle I found that a great port, especially the pre-release footage we got vs release. Same with Star Wars Outlaws too, both seem to have got a lot of TLC in the port process
I’m happy with what’s out so far. The one on my list of what I really want to see though is Baldurs Gate 3. The Indiana Jones game next year already ticked a big box for me
Looking forward to this. I've only played a little of I think FF10 on PS Vita and enjoyed that, I know nothing about this game apart from that it looks like it will be a good port and its supposed to be great? Hopefully it all shapes up well when it releases in Jan.
Sounds like a right rush job this - no doubt its a great game, but a cheap port. I mean, from the interview "...for this release, we prioritized delivering the Switch 2 version to everyone as quickly as possible" - that just doesnt sound right to me
@Max_the_German I've seen a little bit of footage, but what I did see with Tyranids everywhere, I'd be surprised if Switch 2 could handle that much on screen at one time without a port looking too compromised
Nice the game is getting a full cartridge release, shame its abit late and by Limited Run though, but still, never thought this would happen and I did enjoy the game back in the day and worthy of a true physical
Not got the time unfortunately - with switch 2 I don’t want a backlog from hell like I did switch 1 and end up selling a lot without even playing them. I want to play and complete games now and happy that I’ve already completed Cyberpunk 2077 last week
I've been really happy with some of the bigs ports so far, it seems like developers are really spending time to tweak everything to get them looking and running well on Switch 2, like Cyberpunk 2077, Star Wars Outlaws and this. I've got my fingers crossed for Elden Ring (afterall, look how bad Outlaws was appearing to be a mere week or 2 before release) but from what people responded to me when I mentioned this before, I think I need to temper my expectations somewhat on that one due to its performance elsewhere
Cant believe this game is still going, I remember getting it in the early days of Switch - good on them, obviously popular. Must be doing something right
I'd be very keen for them to bring Resident Evil 2 remake to Switch 2 - I'm very fond of the origional on PS1, cant remember how many times I played the demo (demo discs - those were the days!) before I got the full game
Finished Cyberpunk for the first time last night (Star ending) so I’ll probably feel a little lost this weekend - might try get into Star Wars Outlaws or Cronos if I get get over the post game blues
@Gamer_Griff @GravyThief I'm certain digital foundry mentioned Switch 2 Cartridges are around 400-500MBps
Edit: Just checked the video (their weekly roundup video from 2 weeks ago) and they say the internal SSD is around 2.1GBps, SD Express 800-900MBps, Switch 2 Carts (using EMMC standard) which has a max transfer of 400MBps
@RupeeClock I wonder if they'll open this up then in the future, though the game key cards are probably too much of a thing now to get rid of, and other than dedicated companies such as CDPR who were keen on a true physical (even if it were install from cart) they'd probably go digital only if no key cards were available anymore. Nintendo opened a can of worms.
This unfortunately doesnt come as a surprise based on the flack its getting on other consoles - hopefully this means a nice polished product is released which I thinks more important than releasing too early
Cyberpunk gripped hold of me about a month ago (been playing since Switch 2 release) to the point that now it’s the only game I play - thoroughly enjoying it and not ready to roll credits just yet
I tried the network test briefly, but the graphics instantly put me off - pixelated and washed out, just didnt look great at all to me - not what im looking for in a year 1 release on new hardware
@Samick Similar position though I have some gigs etc left, just literally dragging my feet with it now as realistically due to time commitments I dont know if I could ever return to it in the future, what with new game releases and life
@Pillowpants @ElkinFencer10 I found out relatively recently that Nintendo update their games on cartridge with the latest version, obviously when they do a new production run - noticed when I got Pikmin 4 relatively recently Cant say I've noticed if 3rd parties do this, but would be nice if they did.
@OrtadragoonX Good info to know! Hopefully the more advanced architecture may help along Elden Ring somewhat so the performance is acceptable enough. Got my fingers crossed as it’s a game I’m looking forward to
@DennisReynolds hoping it’s reasonably stable but if other consoles are struggling then best to temper expectations. I’m very impressed with how Star Wars outlaws turned out mind you, I was expecting that to be a mess
I was very surprised how well this turned out, especially after the reports late in the day of bad performance. I'm now hopeful that Elden Ring will be similarly well received after they've worked on it further, and shows not to put your trust in previews representing the final product

@RupeeClock that would be an excellent solution! Wholeheartedly agree with that.
Re: Mecha Strategy RPG 'Relayer Advanced Definitive Edition' Big Bangs Onto Switch 2 Today
