Re: Random: RE4 Director Was Worried About PlayStation And Xbox's Future, So He Did A Deal With Nintendo

@Clyde_Radcliffe It was interesting, alright! šŸ˜’ I’ll give them this. Eternal Darkness was awesome. It speaks to the uniqueness you, and others, have spoken of. Also, that robot game. Sorry, the name escapes me at the moment. I felt like Nintendo was in an odd position at that point. How to appeal to a post GTA3 gaming world. They were already off to a bad start with a purple box, that looked like a toy. Not to mention the cute handle to carry it! I was hyped for ā€œProject Dolphinā€ back in the day!

They showed us that awesome Zelda demo, only to give us Wind Waker. Not disrespect, but at the time it was disappointing. Mario Sunshine was frustrating. I don’t mind a challenging platform game, but get the camera right. It felt like a stumble for a mainline Mario game. Speaking of Mario, including him in a DDR game, that’ll bring the teens into the Nintendo fold! šŸ™„ Double Dash never really clicked with me.

Nintendo’s E3’s during this era, outside of the original Zelda demo, were snooze fest. People kept waiting for the MEGATON announcements. What we get, stuff like Pac-Man vs. 😐

This was the first and only time, I repacked a system and took it back to the store, in hopes that it wouldn’t look like I played it. I eventually purchased another one , but it never clicked with me. Sorry for the harsh tone. I mean no harm! šŸ˜‚ Some of this is personal opinion, but they made some goofs that hurt their brand for years.

Re: Feature: Why Open A Video Game Shop During A Global Pandemic?

@Zebetite The virus already seems to be closing in. I’ve had six relatives get it, three currently dealing with it, one passed away. Their not my closest of family, but it’s still family. What I’m trying to say is, the government CLEARLY isn’t trying to help. What are people suppose to do? Out here in Cali, a lot of shops are closed down. Or, they stay open for five hours a day, close on certain days. It makes handling day to day business a pain. I drove out of my way go to a business, recently, only to see that it closed down. This has happened to me multiple times. And these places usually aren’t part of some huge corporation. How are people suppose to survive? There’s also the issues with people who’ll have to pay rent owed. If the government won’t cut a check, so people can stay home...šŸ¤·šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļø People are going to get desperate.

Re: Feature: Why Open A Video Game Shop During A Global Pandemic?

@Zebetite People need to live! Take precautions and go on with life! I live in California and these laws are ridiculous and makes it seem like we can’t govern ourselves. It’s also killing businesses. A lot of these politicians are using this virus to turn into some kind of wannabe dictator. I knew California was headed for trouble when the governor said that he’ll turn off the utilities to any non essential business, open during the pandemic. And he’s done it. And months later, hear we are with more lockdowns and restrictions. Trying to cancel holidays, while he gets to eat a fancy restaurants, at a table with more than five people. Congrats to this gentleman for realizing a dream in these incredibly uncertain times. I hope it’s a BOOMING success.

Re: Nintendo Goes Big With Cyber Deals Sale, Up To 50% Off Top Switch Games (North America)

@Miyamotosan There was somebody (a fellow commenter) who convinced me to buy it. The reviews and people’s opinions had me on the fence. The comment and the fact that people seemed to not be to fond of the Wii entry (the only Mario RPG game I’ve played AND LOVED) convinced me to eventually get it. After seeing the comments on the Wii entry, I’m thinking, ok, so is it the game that people genuinely wasn’t to fond of? Or, do the fans want Nintendo to give them more of the same (the SNES version) with updates? I’m leaning more towards the later.

Re: Picross S5 Brings Your Next Puzzle Fix To Switch Next Week

outsider83

I bought S3 back in March. I love Picross. Even the 3DS game. But, after awhile, the puzzles in S3 started to feel like a chore. The rules aren’t that clear on how to solve the more complex puzzles. I resorted to using hints, which takes away from the fun, and even then it felt like guess work in order to continue. Whenever I got stuck back in the day, it felt it took clear and logical thinking to get myself out of whatever jam I thought I was in. Sad, because when I did play, it was a nice change of pace, when compared to other games I have.

Re: '90s-Style 3D Platformer Clive ā€˜N’ Wrench Gets Brand New Trailer, Now Launching 2021

outsider83

I haven’t been able to find the answer to this question. Since the game has been brought up, I’ll try again.

I have Yooka Laylee and the sequel download, ready to play. I want to play the first game, but seeing how I played Odyssey this year, I’m afraid of it being a letdown. Especially after the ok reception. But, I really want to play the sequel! Do I have to play the first game, in order to enjoy the sequel?

Re: The Origami King Is Now The Fastest-Selling Paper Mario Game Ever

outsider83

To this day, I’m on the fence as to whether or not I should buy this game. I’ve read and watched reviews. I’ve looked at people comments on it. I’m still undecided. šŸ¤·šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļø I’ve only played the Wii Paper Mario. I LOVED that game! It wasn’t until the release of King, that I’ve noticed a lot of people don’t like the Wii entry in the series. I might end up getting it, based on my experience and how others felt about Super Paper Mario.

Re: "Nintendo Isn't That Smart": Pachter Says Nintendo Should Scrap Switch And 'Only Have Switch Lite'

outsider83

😳 My face when I saw the number of comments! šŸ˜‚

I have both Switch consoles. I got both around the same time. While I enjoy how much easier it is to carry my Lite in my backpack, I rarely use it. Matter of fact, if it wasn’t for me seeing the article on this site, about charging the console, I wouldn’t have touched it when I did. Also, it’s rare that I play my OG Switch on my tv.

Re: GameStop Switch Allocation Has Reportedly Improved

I have nothing against Reggie. But, reading interviews with him became boring after awhile. He sounded so...corporate. I get it, it’s his job. I just didn’t understand the rabid love after awhile. Always saying ā€œthe right thingā€ regardless of the situation.

Re: Switch Predicted To Be Best-Selling Console This Holiday Season In The US

outsider83

Not since the GameCube have I been so bored by the launch of a new console. No killer AAA games, day one. The ability to play new games on the old consoles, makes this next gen even less exciting. All this excitement about quicker load times, teraflops and playing however you want, had me thinking how happy I am with my Switch. Not since the SNES has Nintendo been in such a beautiful position in terms of library of games. Also, it started out the gate strong. I hear that the Xbox, play how you want feature, works surprisingly well. But, it can’t compete with having the Switch library on the go. In my eyes, it never will. This, coming from somebody who owns an Xbox One to go with my Switch.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 10th)

outsider83

Okami. I was on it heavy until I found out Roller Coaster Tyson 3 was out, and was actually good! I’m about 30 hours into Okami. I want to have it done by Monday. I have a digital backlog and I’m ready to move on. Still love Okami, though! I’ve also gotten the hang of playing RCT 3 on the Switch. It was painful! šŸ˜‚
