I bought this game as soon as I saw this review. Five hours later and I still haven’t built a coaster. The camera is wonky! What’s up with it moving every time I lay a piece of track? Makes it hard to keep up with what I’m doing. Having spent countless hours playing this series on PC, the idea of playing on the go was so exciting. Now, I’m disappointed and want my money back. Incredibly frustrating for me.

Never heard of this game. I was expecting something along the lines of a modern day shooter before I clicked on this article. Imagine my surprise... 😂

@Anti-Matter I think they could still do something with the Viva Piñata franchise.

I loved part one back in the day. Stayed up for three days straight playing it. I totally wasn’t expecting this to be good. I was heartbroken when it was originally released. My earliest memory of a run in with game breaking bugs! Looks like I’m taking the plunge back into this world...AND ON THE GO!!!!

I’m literally in the middle of reaching a climactic fight in Okami. If it wasn’t for that, I would on the eshop purchasing this game!

@liverpoolvk ok. After seeing your reply, I’ll put it in the maybe pile: I’ve never played this type of game, but I did grow up loving action games like Streets of Rage and X-Men Legends. Between reading the names of characters, descriptions of how the battles and mechanics work, the heart of the game and the writers own sauce put on reviews, I was left feeling....🤷🏾‍♂️

I wanted to try Hades. I knew nothing about it, until it was announced during a recent direct. But, I can’t even get through a review without going, “what exactly would I be doing in this game?” For some reason it doesn’t gel with me. I guess that’s a huge sign telling me to not bother. 🤷🏾‍♂️ I’ll continue to play Okami!

I loved selling my old stuff on eBay! I games and systems going back to the NES. As I discovered what people would buy, I found so many little treasures in my own stuff! Empty boxes. Manuals. The black plastic cases old NES games used to come in. I could go on and on!

@Bizzyb your comment has made me consider playing a BotW after Okami. I just didn’t want to get burned out on these types of games. What you said about getting lost in the world and discovering new things has me reconsidering my decision!

One thing that I always tell people about Okami, I love how I get lost in the world and I rarely play it in docked mode! 😂 I love wondering around figuring out what’s next. That feeling you get when you finally figure it out. How satisfying it feels to use the celestial brush in combat. Being ok with grinding because of the rewards for doing so. The feeling that I’m witnessing magic when I see a level blossom with life. Throwing in a new enemy when you start to long for change. Surprising new or changes to familiar environments. I could go on and on. OH, and the score!!!!! 😍

It’s just a brilliant game that has shown me why I’ve seen people say, “I envy anybody who gets to experience Okami for the first time!”

I wish US numbers were still released. It makes these kinds of articles more fun to read.

Looks like Nintendo has a GTA 4 on their hands with BotW. I’ve never played BotW, but I’m currently 10 hours into Okami (INCREDIBLE!) and it’s made me thirsty for these types of games! I plan on playing BotW once I beat Okami and another game.

For those against this game, what about Dream and Little Big Planet. Heck, Roller Coaster Tycoon!

Sunshine. I didn’t care for it back in the day. Never finished it. At some point in the game, the high wire balancing acts and the camera effectively killed my joy. The only Mario game I haven’t finished.

@CasNicks I forgot about the controls. It’s part of what made the high wire platforming so frustrating! Having to start aaaaallllllll the way back at the bottom was so frustrating! I remember being particularly annoyed with the theme park section, too.

I’d settle for part 2. This game broke my heart back in the day. I played part 1 for three days straight! My anticipation was high! The bugs hurt. I loved this series prior to part 3. A theme park management game and NOBODY rides the rides?! 🤨

Happy to see that Mario 3D World is getting another chance with a bigger audience. For many, I bet that game was a nice surprise, seeing how many didn’t even know that the WiiU existed!

I remember when the direct dropped. I saw that it wasn’t trending. 🤔 I later on saw that it was #1. That made more sense! 😂

My take from this article... It seems that Nintendo peaked from launch, going into 2019. What I wonder, is it the world that has made me not realize this? Things moving so fast. Or, has Nintendo created a great setup with the Switch and its third party and indie content, that the lean months aren’t as bad compared to the N64 days? 🤷🏾‍♂️

Lots of merch and third party indie games being announced these days. 😴 All of the stuff Nintendo has done with places like this or Vans has been awful. I don’t get how large meetings are held and the merch they come up with is considered ok. 🤷🏾‍♂️

To be honest, none of the games announced in recent times have piqued my interest. I hate to be one of those Nintendo system owners but, with Nintendo staying so silent, the third party announcements aren’t doing it for me at the moment. I need some Nintendo goodness thrown into the mix for me to care. I only feel that way about Nintendo. Sony can stay silent, and, although they make great first party titles, I would be ok with that. The strength and appeal to Nintendo’s systems are their games. Even though I’m thoroughly enjoying the third party games. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I still wonder if, had this pandemic never hit, would this have been a slow year for Nintendo. If E3 happened, would we have gotten a lot of, “for 2021” announcements, with a couple of things for us this year. That would include the Mario 3D remastered collection.

Journey made me cry a few times.

I remember this being on a list of bad decisions made during the GameCube era. People were SO hurt and disappointed! At this point, I never thought I’d see the day when a full Final Fantasy game would be on a Nintendo system again.

I’ve always wondered if this virus had not happened, would 2020 have looked a lot different for Nintendo? Yes, the world has been turned upside down, but their lack of content and communication with the public had been interesting. I wonder if E3 would have happened, would it have been a disappointment? Lots of, “for 2021” announcements.

Wasn’t Sega suppose to be announcing Sonic news every month? Have they been doing that? Or has that time passed?

There has been a lot of announcements about Nintendo merch in recent times. Three months left and still no game announcements. I’m wondering what will the 2021 lineup will look like, given the drought during 2020. I wonder, had this virus not happened, would 2020 have looked like this. It feels a bit like the 64 era these days,

The fact that people look down on Super Paper Mario makes me want to checkout the latest entry. I loved that game and had no idea people felt a ways about it until Origami King came out. I wonder had I not known about how people felt about OK, would I have been so reluctant to play it.

I literally was playing Dr. Mario last night on my Switch. It was the first time in YEARS! I had no idea. Funny how I got cocky and thought, so easy. It turned into a game of Tetris. 😂

I LOVED Super Paper Mario! It was in the comments section of some story, I got the impression that it’s not well like. Surprising to me. 🤷🏾‍♂️

@jump Maybe that’s just it. They’ve discovered a new way to communicate with the public. Like a lot of things, Nintendo related, the competition is catching on to something Nintendo has popularized, while they are ready to move on. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I always forget about this part of their business. My sister recently asked me if I play games on my phone. I was like, I have no interesting in playing Fruit Ninja type games when I can play Mario and Zelda on the go! 🤨

Looking at the first screenshot, I have a question for you guys. Would you like that level of realism in a Mario game, in terms of graphics?

So they got this game on track? Didn’t it start off strong, only for EA to drop the ball and alienate the audience at one point? Or was that another game like this? I know Fortnite is still going strong.

@TG16_IS_BAE I appreciate the info. I no longer have knowledge of the emulation world. It’s been years since I’ve downloaded and emulator. Wouldn’t know where to go. I think companies rereleasing their back catalogs played a role in that.
